it makes me happy that vocal fans can and have banded together to try and push back the stereotypes in gaming. i think back to the early days (by which i date myself), when i was a kid and thrilled that in king's quest 4 i could play as a girl. of course, she wore a dress, never picked up a sword, and solved problems by cleaning other people's houses and kissing frogs and such (no joke). still, look how far female characters in VGs have come (and they still have a long ways to go).
