They fixed that in LotSB, no? Still... outside that one situation in the whole game, I never saw anything odd with how Shep sits. That's how everyone I know does it. A scarred badass military commander wearing heavy armor and sitting like Aunt Polly would look even odder.

EDIT...why not, a little eyeball fun.

If you want to look at that Asari, you can just turn your neck, Shepard...

I dunno. I've gotten used to femshep's adorable swagger. I've gone past making peace with it to actually really loving how she moves 'like a man.' I find it cute.

With that said, I do totally support keeping femshep's knees together if there is the remotest possibility that she will be sitting in a skirt. I think even a girl with masculine mannerisms can handle that.

This is an excellent statement. I agree 100%.

If you're referring to her sitting with her legs together, then yes they fixed it in LotSB, and then promptly broke it again in Arrival.

Can't agree with that, sorry Sage. The animations for FemShep in ME2 are just awful in my opinion. But then this is a horse that's long since been beaten to death. To each their own.

Ehhh. I like the way she sits now, but as we probably won't get multiple options for sitting, I can make peace with a more demure seating arrangement. :) In a perfect world we'd be able to pick and choose different animation styles for a custom pack -- I know I'd want Jei sitting like a dude but dancing like an Asari, for instance. That kinda detail will probably stay in fic territory, though, and I'm cool with that.

And since I just noticed I don't post a lot of her, here's some Jei for posterity:

This summarizes Arrival pretty well: back against the wall, completely alone.

Really? I think she knows she's attractive, just that it's not as big a deal as some other things. My Shepard's reputation is "Earthborn Survivor" and I imagine she would have had to defend herself from aggressors for being an attractive young woman, and may look on her sexiness with some resentment.

At the very least, I think she knows that she's fit, and with that knowledge of her fitness comes a level of comfort with her body and the way it looks, especially when she wants to be intimidating!

I don't have that DLC, so I don't know what you're specifically referring to. Does she wear a dress in that mission, too?

EDIT:  @Cypher0020 below, I mean in Arrival.

I have LOTSB...you can change Shep into a dress if you have the stolen memory DLC before inviting Liara up...that what you mean?

She can do during the debrief with Hackett at the end of the DLC. If she is wearing the LBD, then when she's sitting in the medical bay her legs are wide apart again as she's using the male animation, rather than a specific female one like was used in LotSB.

A minor thing, but since Bioware fixed the problem in one DLC it was a little strange that they didn't bother to do the same for the next one.

I find FemShep's ME2 walk very immersion breaking to me. It's not so much as a man walk as it's just ridiculous looking. I've always wanted it fixed because to me it was a reminder that they cut corners somewhere and they cut them on FemShep.

Both of them walk like the hunchback of notre dame. btw I saw Jack running five minutes ago, I'm pretty sure she uses Shepard's ME1 animation.

@Akari: hopefully there will be no dresses at all in ME3, since it's going to be an open war. That would be the perfect solution for me.

I can understand the walk from an in game view. Shepard was woken up ahead of schedule (noticably wincing when she got up) so she's not 100% the whole game (which explains the lvl 30 cap) but times passed so she should be healed up and walking all sexy like in ME3

I personally think it's your own faults that you wear the LBD for mission briefings. You deserve all the upskirt shots you get! : P

@AtlasMickey - I'm inclined to agree. Even a non-Earthborn FemShep didn't grow up on a convent, so I'm sure she's encountered the fact that she is found attractive by others. It all depends on what she does with that knowledge.

I honestly very much like femShep using the maleShep animation, it think it fits with my idea of the character. I would be rather sad to see them changed. The run in ME2 is kind of odd and I preferred how it was done in ME1, but otherwise I like the way femShep moves. It close to how I move, lol.

And as for knowing shes attractive, I didn't make my Shep very attractive on purpose, so no, my Shep is an atheltic/fit female that doesnt know/doesnt care if shes attractive and has no real reason to act a certain way, so Sheps movements fit well for my Shep in that respect. I think that is more of a personal Shep by Shep idea though, each persons Shep will have a different outlook on that issue. XD

If they do have an option to wear dress, then yea, they should probably consider having her sit properly, as a Shep choosing to wear the dress would probably be used to wearing them and know better to sit with her legs wide open.

I am quite masculine and I think I kind of put that attribute into my Sheps personality, and I know in real life I would have a very hard time wearing a skirt/dress and knowing how to behave/move, because I never do. I think it would be diffcult for me to get used to moving/sitting properly in it just because I have years upon years of sitting and wearing mostly just jeans burned into my mind. It would be instinct/habit to sit the way I normally do, and unless I have someone there telling me "Hey, dont do that!" I think I would have a hard to NOT doing it, lol.

That said I hope wearing a dress is entirely optional in ME3 if it exists at all. I didn't really like my femShep wearing the dress on the Kasumi mission, it was very out of character for my Shep to do and she looked very wrong, and I don't want her to be forced into that position agian, lol.

Extra designs for femShep, you say? I hope it's hair upgrades and not a boob-inflation. She could use a bit more upper body strength, though. The arms she has in the Kasumi dress should be her default.

THIS! SO MUCH THIS! The crew can keep their skinny arms; Shepard needs a bit more meat on her bones. xP

I completely agree! I thought Shepard's arms looked more appropriately muscled in the dress than in the other casual outfits, but wasn't sure if it was just my imagination or not. She's gotta have some decent muscle to be tossing Turians around nightclubs the way she does.

Very glad to hear from twitter that they aren't planning to give Shepard the Lara Croft treatment. That would ruin everything.

Imagining Cay in a dress makes me laugh. She would be so uncomfortable. I have to agree with you, I prefer Shepard in pants. Though Zody is a knock out in that little black dress. As for Kasumi's mission I seen it as Shepard was pretending to be someone else, playing a role, being someone she very much is not. It might have been more in character for more masculine FemSheps to wear a women's dress suit. Which I actually wouldn't mind having regardless. I know ManShep's suit was basically the Cerberus officer's uniform retextured, I'm still a fan of suits and tuxes.

Yeah, you shouldn't be dressed for a party when running a military operation. I have the same issue with Male Shepard's Dash Rendar outfit. I only had my Femshep wear civilian clothes when her entire crew has been taken away for weeks, leaving no one left to be professional to.

There's an old saying in the military. "Keep your head down and don't volunteer for anything." Shepard's jog (regardless of gender) reminds me of that.

In a perfect world, my lipstick lesbian, Paragon, UJ would know how to work the heels and the dress, while my “keep it straight,” loudmouth, renegade, Erica would be slightly more feminine than Aveline from DA2.

Unfortunately, this is not a perfect world.

I just figured Cerberus replaced her muscles with some kind of hi-tech material anyway (hence the upgrades you can apply to them).

I agree that she's just the right size as is.

Heh thanks to modding my FemShep wears a dress everywhere, including combat. But it's floor-length and very modest (with her Widow she looks like she's in Little House on the Prarie hunting bears or something).

I agree, I think her total nonchalantness about her own looks is perfect . I like her line to Kasumi about "why am I wearing this getup?"

Personally I've never noticed/paid attention to how she runs at all, guess I'm too focused on getting where I'm going.

In ME1 (again, regardless of gender) Shepard walked (jogged) w/ her head held up high, a note of confidence.  I much preferred that to the "linebacker."

^^Agree; I've always imagined Shepard as the stereotypical tomboy, more comfortable hanging out with the boys and getting her knees dirty as a kid than hanging with the girls, yet cleaning up nice if she felt so inclined.

Yeah, the run/walk in ME was a lot better. I figure that no matter what (background/sex/etc) Shepard would have "F-you" confidence in most situations.

Also, I think FemShep would be most comfortable in something like this for formal wear:

Or perhaps this:

(Oh, and the RN lady's wearing a Lieutenant Commander's stripes.  Interesting how that works!)
