Oh, Shepard ...
I love Shep's dork-dance. I don't see why that asari turned her down. She looks awesome!
re: Al-Jilani, I agree, having Shep recite the cruisers is one of the best moments in the game. It shows that Shepard cared enough to remember the fallen and honor them. Whether shep is paragon or renegade, the idea that she would have a deep respect for those who lost their lives saving others speaks highly of her. And Jen Hale's delivery of those lines is just GOLDEN. Gives me chills every time.
I still prefer the Renegade option. Hale's delivery of "They deserve better than you" is just about her best in the entire game, I think.

My old save with her is my insanity playthrough and I'll keep it but right now I'm doing a veteran playthrough as a more fun and less grinding playthrough. My insanity playthrough is still my "cannon" femshep but a much more relaxed veteran playthrough will be easier and casual.

If some of you will recall, I've always considered my maleShep/Ash playthrough as my canon. I'd never really played thru ME1 with a femShep before. My first femShep was a MassEffectSaves download for ME2 so I could see the Liara romance stuff in LotSB.
Now, I've played ME1 twice with a femShep, the first being a full paragon Liaraphile, for the sole reason that I frakking LOVE the romance stuff in LotSB, and my maleShep was hopelessly attached to Ashley, so it had to be a femShep. But I didn't really give it too much attention, since it was simply to get a character that was mine (and not someone elses that I downloaded) into ME2.
Then came Rani. She was intended to be my renegade-esque playthrough, with the intention of romancing Kaidan. She quickly developed a personality of her own, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. There is, however, a bit of a problem. I find myself vaguely dissatisfied with Rani's story. Don't get me wrong, I love Rani herself...but its as if her story isn't the real story...and it's making me all twitchy inside thinking that I'm using the wrong story as my main femShep playthrough.
I finally realized what the problem was when I started my "canon" maleShep playthrough. It felt wrong, too! Like it was the wrong story! In this case, it was because it was the wrong lead! I somehow made the mental shift that Commander Shepard, Systems Alliance Marine and First human Spectre was a woman, and playing the story the way *I* feel the story should be played felt wrong when playing as a maleShep.
This, however, necessitates a new playthru with FemShep, 'cause Rani's story, while a good story in and of itself, wasn't Shepard's story. After many, many playthroughs, I have a solid grasp on what "Shepard's" story is, but now it needs to be a femShep. I also fell in love with Kaidan's romance.
Long story short, the unfortunate reality is that Rani is being (lovingly) set aside, since her story isn't right. It saddens me, because I love her to pieces, but the way her story played out is wrong. And since I made her to be my Kaidan romance playthrough, and my new canon femshep is romancing Kaidan, it makes her playthrough redundant.
I don't have screenies for my new Shep, but if people wanna see her I'll be happy to oblige. I just wanted to congratulate this thread (and femShep herself!) for changing how I see the Mass Effect story. I also want to curse this thread because now I need to do yet another ME1 playthru!
So, yeah...I'll end this rambling monstrosity here. Thanks guys, for helping me see the awesomeness that is femShep!

This is awesome. And I totally understand where you're coming from, it took me several playthroughs to nail down Shepard, to say nothing of Jessica Shepard herself.

Its a great feeling isnt it
I think a few of us have had similar experiences. I had three main characters. My first ever playthrough as maleshep. That was quickly forgotten after I played femshep. Who then became my next main character.
Then recently I created a new Shep who rather lovely so now she my main girl

I started Mass Effect with a female character straight away so when I say that manShep doesn't feel quite right to me is extremely biased (I tried but stopped halfway through Eden Prime), but I'm glad that you feel that way about femShep! It's always a pleasure to know that she's being recognized. Best of luck with your canon playthrough!

Bargin price. I picked up KotOR from steam at Christmas for the princly sum of £1.74, and loved it. Now if only Jade Empire would get the steam discount treatment.

Welcome to the club.
It took me a while to find my Shepard too, but it was worth the wait. I have others but Hrist will always be Commander Shepard to me.

What's the point of posting that exactly? It adds nothing to the thread and we don't need to know that you hate a particular hairstyle. Keep it to yourself next time.

They come here to share their creation with enthousiasts, not with critics. As such, it has no place here.
If you would have said, "i'm not a huge fan of that hairstyle myself" that also sets a wholely different tone don't you think?
Anyways, enough about that.

I said I hate that hair, why would people get bothered with that? I'm not saying anything about them.
And how is this place not for critics?
This is public forum and long enough I'm not braking any forum rules, I can say anything.
And I expressed my opinion on that.

Not it doesn't. Someone saying they like a screenshot someone has posted, or that they have a similar one is completely different to saying that you hate a certain hairstyle that somone has chosen for their character. Why you feel you have to tell us that you hate certain things, I have no idea. You're entitled to your opinion, but you could go about expressing it in a more eloquent way that doesn't involve ripping on someones Shepard.
