Also as randomly, a pic of femshep sort of inspired me to write a blog post this morning about being a girl gamer. I tweeted it, but I'll mention it here, too. As I've said, I often wear my N7 hoodie around town, but no one I know gets it.

edit: oh, hey. that was convenient that my pic bomb was top post. okay, top pic covered, then.

I <3 you Sage. That blog post was touching and sweet. Ican just imagine oyu and your kids playing something together and then you scare the crap outta some 14 year old when he tells your kids he did something to you last night during a multiplayer match and then he quits the game.

also Yay Kyrie!!!!!

My husband went to pick up Dragon Age 2 for me after I had surgery.  The clerk didn't believe him when he said it was for me.

Meet Olivia. My Grey Eyed Goddess. Sorry about the quality --that being said, for a cell phone + HD monitor, I am surprised with the clarity I got.
(I'll upload more as I progress through the game)

Finally got around to uploading some Orra Shepard pictures. She is my brat paragade Shepard. She also looks like she is 12 years old. Kind of fits her bratness.

I really need to make an 'adult' looking Shepard.

I really like Orra, Red! Posted Image

Although, Noah suffers the same "problem" ...

That was a great post, Sage.  I'm a guy and the only other person I know who games is my Dad.  He mainly plays the NASCAR, Tiger Woods and flight sims though.

That was an excellent blog post, Sage. I had no idea you were a mum either. I'm surprised you have the time to play games, make awesome videos and write fic, but I'm impressed all the same. :)

Your kids certainly have a cool mum to look up to. B)

And since I feel like posting a pic..

I made that the other day and have order a custom t-shirt with it printed on it. Yes, I'm a complete nerd. :P

Well, thanks again, guys. Again, I feel like as I see more folks saying 'yeah, i game and i'm a _____ (fill in the blank)' i can say i game and i'm a mom, even though that sounds so incompatible to most folks. lol.

and  - yeah...time. this is part of why my fanfic and projects can be so erratic in getting them done.

@ akari - I LOVE the pic. that is the coolest thing ever. a t-shirt with that would rock so much.

Ha! That's awesome. Reminds me of that comic where the guy buys his girlfriend an in-game Frost Bow for Christmas. I wanna say it was PVP, but I can't find it now.

If I saw someone walking around town wearing an N7 hoodie, automatic hugs from me regardless of who or what they are. ;)

Beautiful blog post! I've met quite a number of gamer moms, and it's a pleasure to know another. ;D I remember telling my mom about it once and she looked so scandalized lol. The concept of a woman (or a person in general) in her thirties or forties who games as hard as I do is mind-boggling to her.

Something like that. More like:

14 year old: yeah well I did your mom last night!
Sage: Please, you're so not my type!
14 year old: whaaa-*quits*

Because the blog feature on the BSN is down right now, I offer my latest FemShep FanFic here.

"Blue Interlude" is a short piece that features MomShep visiting the Normandy about a week after the battle of the Citadel. Flames, criticism, or general sneers are accepted.

I can relate to that blog post in quite a number of ways.  I'm not a mom, but I'm a 34 y/o dad to 3 girls (ages 15, 13 & 8) and one rambunctious little 3 y/o boy.  The sheer TIME it takes to be a good dad, not to mention a good husband to my wonderful wife (who does not get my gaming habit at all), that time does severely curtail my gaming hours.

I wouldn't trade it, though.  I understand the urge to finish just one more quest, and I totally understand the need to fight that.  I have to do the same.

I can't say I "get" the social part of it, considering that it's still somewhat "acceptable" to be a gaming dad.  It's not quite as much of an outlandish hybrid character as a gaming mom.  I hope that dichotomy erodes sooner rather than later, though.

All in all, a great blog post, one I wholeheartedly endorse.  Cheers to the gaming parents out there who take the time to be good parents!  *raises glass*
