On the topic of the Mako: I have to admit I HATE the Mako. Easily the worst thing about ME1 for me. It's the one thing holding me back from playing the **** outta that game. I just can't stand how clunky it is and that it's required for just about every side mission.  Most of the time I just don't even care about the enemies and just pass them by.  Trying to aim with the Mako is a **** and it slows down the gameplay. The only thing I use it for it to get from point A to point B and it doesn't even do that well.<_< I'd be happy with no vehicle at all for ME3 honestly.

Let me ask, do you feel the same about the Mako when using it during the excellent Bring Down the Sky DLC?  I doubt it, I know I don't.  Because the terrain was designed with the Mako in mind.  The problem with the Mako is all the horrible Bryce 3D terrain.

But that's really not femShep related, so, before things get any more off topic:

One of my favorite screenshots of Jessica I've ever taken.  It's just so dramatic.  No flycam either, just got really lucky.

That is really cool!  I instantly knew it was a manip of Claudia, even without the description.  She has a very distinctive and recognizable body.

The only thing that would make this better is if it were the SR1 in the background.

It looks sweet Fire! I really like it even though it's the flying hospital in the background. ;) But that might just be my dislike of Cerberus talking. A really good manip nonetheless <3

Not really, the SR1 is a far superior design from the viewpoints of both aesthetics and character.  It's more original, more memorable, and more iconic.

Also, it doesn't look like a cafeteria inside.

The Mako stumbled over pebbles and getting anywhere took way too long but the Hammerhead made it seem like the best armoured vehicle ever.

I did lol at how it was in one piece and on its wheels in the midst of the Normandy wreckage.

One day I'll have to do a Aeryn Sun inspired femshep run but I'm not sure what background to give her.

I agree so much with you about this. The SR-1 felt like a real stealth frigate and it had that awesome design. The SR-2 felt almost like a hospital with a cafeteria. My Shepard got the same views and will always preferthe SR-1

The Sr-1 was sorta crappy imo. It was dark as hell except for the engine room which was bright as hell. The elevator was slow and tedious for Ashley Romances and it felt....small. The SR-2 was much better with the decks divided and everyone having space so ti wasn't like Tali's description of the migrant fleet with everyone on top of each other. (which didn't even turn out to be true when we got there. The armory was actually an armory instead of a desk. Shepard's quarters were much better the mess wasn't just a table plus EDI. EDI by herself beats the old SR-1 by few miles. I could have used her back in ME1.

Agreed. I do miss the double-chaired cockpit though.

Okay, so I have been quite busy in paint drawing. I don't have a scanner with me since I am staying at a hotel in San Diego (for Comicon) so I could submit any of  my hand drawn art to the BW comicon shocase without it being really sh*tty quality, so I used paint instead. I know the deadline for submissions is closed, but drawing in paint is fun, so I am continuing it as best as I can.

Now, as for submissions, one is off topic, it is a LadyHawke one. However, my second submission was a FemShepley pic, and as AD's Kallen was one Shep I thought of first, this FemShep is a redhead. And my pic, well, I gave it the title "Morning Kiss"

Posted Image

My other paint pic that I finished today, so I could not submit it for the showcase, is FemShep and Liara....or well, as you can tell their hands and then a written letter by Shep herself to her love Liara. I was going for sweet and very touching, hope I got that right, and sorry for any mistakes. This one, I gave it the title "Holding On"

Posted Image

I am not exactly the best with computer drawing, and of course like I said, I used paint of all things, so I never expected them to be very good (or my one of LadyHawke) but they turned out better then I thought but not as good as other art I have seen. Please, tell me what you think and let me know if there are any mistakes what so ever, also, hope you all like the pics. They were fun to do and I want to draw more pics similair to them. "It's not the same, Joker.  There's nothing here that was even part of the real Normandy."

One of my favorite lines in the game, not only because of Hale's delivery, but because it perfectly mirrors what I (and Jessica) feel.  The SR1 was the Millenium Falcon of Mass Effect.  It was a character in its own right, and watching it die was as painful as staring into the nuclear fireball over Virmire.  The SR2 is a cheap knockoff, a mere conveyance; there is no connection to it, it's just an airliner that gets you from one place to another.

It doesn't help that it looks like it was grafted onto the back half of a 747.

Plus, there are those horrible control panels...

well, I have to agree that the original Normandy was the best of the two, but there are still some "parts" from the original Normandy that survived... namely Joker, Doc Chakwas, Garrus, Tali & Shepard of course.

It's not much, but at least these five are together, and that means that with them a part of the original Normandy survived.

Besides all that, the unveiling of the new Normandy still manages to choke me up... every time I see it (same goes for the speech Shepard holds on the SR1 in ME1).

@Sable I could say the same about the SR-2. It was my first normandy and it was the only one that had the enemy aboard. I was pissed as all get out when I saw the collectors were boarding and taking my crew. Especially when I had all the upgrades well before the Reaper IFF. So I was just as cocky as Joker when the Thanix cannon ripped through the collectors ship (even said the same line the first time around by pure chance) All I know is that The Alliance better not mess it up too much especially taking EDI out of it (though I believe I heard her in the Demo with the turret). It's stealthy and powerful as hell and I believe it'll bust through the hulls of several reapers.

This so much this. It's exactly what me and Sarah thinks. The Normandy SR-1 felt like home and seeing it getting destroyed is one of the most painful moments in Mass Effect!

Awesome pose. Absolutely awesome pose. Where was this taken? I would love to shoot my FemShep in this pose.

That looks like the Colossus armour, so I'm guessing this is ME1, or is it a modded Shep running on ME2?

ME1, eden prime near the spaceport. Shep is crouched and 'stuck' to cover, screen angle taken with flycam. Shep moves her head according to where the selector is and where she is in cover and which direction she's moving, then it's just a matter of pausing and taking the shot.

Again, where was this taken? Looks like Tali's loyalty mission, but that isn't a pose I remember. Modded somehow?

This is Tali's loyalty mission, but the sitting takes place off camera. It happens when you first talk to Veetor, and can be seen by panning out with flycam.

Thanks - appreciated

TBH I don't share the love for the SR1 it's kinda blah for me.

The SR1 felt like the Alliance's, it was their warship and Shepard was just the current commander of her. With each upgrade the SR2 became Shepard's ship.

I agree with Sable. The SR1 was the better ship for me. Yes it was a little dark and the lifts took an absolute age to get somewhere, but it was all part of the ships character. Where ever you went, it was there, sat waiting for you to come back to it. I loved having to run to the airlock to leave the ship, or going through the decontamiination process when you returned, and the voice announcing that the commanding officer was aboard/ashore made it all the more memorable. It was Shepard's ship and it felt like it.

Now I don't dislike the SR2 but it does have a very sterile feel to it. It feels more like an operating room that a spaceship. It's too bright and shiney and, for the size of it, it seems very empty and lifeless. It lacks those little touches that make it feel like one of the gang. I do like the scene in ME2 where you're introduced to the new Normandy, but one good scene doesn't put it in the same league as the original.

Hmmm, maybe I should make a T-Shirt design with the Normandy on it next. To the Photoshop cave! :wizard:

BDtS never had any effect on my opinion of the Mako.  All we used it for there was transportation and shooting some turrets, both of which were boring when compared to the awesomeness that was the rest of the DLC. What I took away from that DLC was not the Mako, it was that we saw batarians for the first time, there was a really good decision we had to make, and it gave my batarian-hating colonist some awesome moments. Also, it's a little strange that you say it was designed with the Mako in mind. Are you implying all the other Mako missions were not designed with it in mind?

And speaking of BDtS and femshep, the way she delivers that line the first time she encounters batarians, just the way she says "BUUUHHH-tarians!" cracked me up every time. It was so perfect and hilarious at the same time that I was immobilized from laughter.  I can have my roommate rolling on the floor laughing just by immitating shep on that line.
