Okay!

Somehow, phoenix makes a Krogan even more intimidating. Don't ever insult a Krogan in pink armor.
You have a problem with what I'm wearing?! *shotgun to the face*

Also heavy gladiator is awesome.  All the ME2 armors are entirely too shiney :)

Drea: How's this for an angry face?
ELE: Nope.  Still cute.

Loving FemShep: BioWare’s first lady finally steps forward

An even better article (I think it's the original) of Silverman talking about femshep.

"BioWare's first lady.  I Like that."

Very Cool read

"But Silverman revealed that only 13 percent of Mass Effect players use the default Commander Shepard: the remaining 83 percent customise their hero, changing class, abilities, appearance – and gender."

Thus why I still maintain completly revamping default femshep from the ground up is a good thing!  :)

I'd settle for some swag and a glimpse of this illusive femshep trailer we've all been waiting for.

I'll be there.  Hit me up femsheppers, I'll be the short half-thai with a tattoo sleeve and a big dopey grin on my face.

Aieeeeee ME3 FemShep!

It’s notable that FemShep, though a remarkably fit lady whose strength
and ability are most attractive, is never presented as a sex object

Although the fact that not being a sex object being notable is reason enough for me to crash my head so hard against my desk, the quote above is actually something positive to be happy about, because the writer is saying here that a female action video game character who doesn't need to sell sex is something good. This may sound obvious if I put it that way, but consider how many people claim that Femshep's armor should be sexy (and boob armor is universally accepted, don't know why. People don't want dick armor for Sheploo, right?); or how many people think she should seduce enemies once in a while instead of doing what a military Commander would do; how many threads about "I can't take femshep seriously", how many saying her voice isn't girly enough, etc. That article is actually pretty radical if we compare it to these boards. Maybe even a step in the right direction for gaming in general.

Excellent news here, though I had to laugh at Silverman's predictable defense of the Miranda ass-cam shots. FemShep represent!

Here's soemthing to talk about ... maybe.

Marketing director David Silverman talks more about femshep at the Escapist.

very cool. and from the other article, this:

It’s notable that FemShep, though a remarkably fit lady whose strength and ability are most attractive, is never presented as a sex object – well, except when rolling around in the hay with a crewmate.

is so inaccurate.

the fact that femshep initiates 'rolling around in the hay' and it's clearly an equal choice on the part of both partners completely negates any amount of being a 'sex object' on either side.

other than that though, good articles both!

Except for the part where he defends the constant close-ups of Miranda's ass as a part of the story and her character, it's a good article.

“The fact is, some characters are defined by their attractiveness, such as a woman who is genetically engineered to be perfect,” he argued.“Camera angles help tell the story and portray key aspects of each character – in Miranda’s case, her curves and sexuality. We had similar shots of Jacob.”

......yes, because three ass-shots tell me tons about her character.  One was enough. =/

Edited because I fail at quotes.

Mmm... Comic-Con. BioWare apparently has some SWTOR stuff there too (besides the obvious ME3 stuff).

About Mirandass. There is a reason why I use the armour outfit for her. Though, it is still rather revealing.

Good read those articles.

Though I'd prefer they were just honest about the Miranda arse shots. We know why you did it, you're not fooling anyone, Mr. Silverman.

agreed. just say, "We made her oversexualized because we if we didn't, people might actually realize she's tough, smart, no-nonsense, and has a character that actually isn't terribly different from, say, Bastila or Ashley Williams or other tough women who get called 'butch' or other equally ridiculous names. So we slapped lycra on her and called it good."

Bioware's characters are defined by their personal conflicts and how they deal with them.

Miranda may be sexy, but she's hardly "over sexualized". She may wear a tight suit, but that's not what defines her by any stretch. She's a strong willed woman, an over protective sister, someone struggling with infertility, and someone who wants to find her niche in the galaxy. Furthermore, the issue with the "practicality" of her attire was flushed away when she got a heavy armor outfit.

Same goes for Samara and Jack.

And anyone who thinks that that still isn't good enough has only to look at the four other female characters in ME: Kasumi, Tali, Liara, and Ash. These women aren't over sexual. They don't fall into any specific social or sexual class. They aren't dressed in uber sexy clothes.

Four out of seven of ME's main female characters aren't sex'd up? Sounds like majority rules by default.

If I tell a group of gaming fans: this character is a sexy female fighter in form fitting attire, who kicks as much ass as her male counter parts--who is she?

I might as well be describing half of the women in movies, TV shows, and games.

If I tell a group of gaming fans: this character is a woman who is a protective older sibling, works for a shady and morally questionable group, and secretly struggles with infertility--who is she?

I bet at least one person would be able to figure out who it is.
