Can't say I like the armor. Like, not at all. Not just details, colors, etc. I don't like the idea of it. I don't like that someone had the idea of doing that drawing, even less that he actually drew it. I don't like that an armor like that is even thinkable.

I do like the Assassin Suit.

Actually like Chig said its a fairly decent armour up to the upper region.

I made a post in the link saying I would like something like the Assassin suit in New Vegas.  That actually fits that concept quite well for the most part.

With some tweaking this would be a great armour varient.

As someone who uses super-light armor, i like everything about the texture and shape EXCEPT that it isn't covering her boobs and arms, which is a pretty darn big EXCEPT!!!!

omg, please. no femshep boobs hanging out. what self-respecting woman, much less a warrior, much less someone practical enough to rig nukes out of drive cores and stoically face death over and over, would let her ta-tas hang out when going into battle like that? put on a smoky eye every morning? sure. fine. let her jugs flap in the wind? i don't think so.

anyhow. /end rant.

love every other part of this armor, though.  oh, and yes, i understand this isn't official armor. i just can't help but go GEHHHHH to barbarella armor for femshep.

I know I'm dragging up an old topic from a few pages back, but I wanted to have a say on the whole 'choose which FemShep you like', thing.

While I may not think having a popularity contest on facebook is the best way to go about deciding on who will be Bioware's Jane Shepard, the important thing to me is that FemShep is getting exactly what every one of her fans has asked for: Some recognition for a character that we all love, from the people who created her.

It doesn't matter to me which of those six Shepards win, as I think they all look great and any of them will be a worthy face for FemShep. What she looks like isn't important, it's what she represents. She doesn't replace mine or anyone elses Shepard, but she will the public face of something that's sorely lacking in most video games these days. That being a strong female lead who breaks the norm of being either a sex object, or a damsel in distress.

I can't wait to see the trailer and marketing material featuring which ever one wins. As it stands the blonde FemShep is winning by quite a distance (she wasn't my choice, but as I've stated I don't mind which one wins), but regardless of what colour her hair, or skin is, we're the ones who win. We get some public recognition for a character we're all attached to. A character that has been hidden in the background for two games when she deserved a share of the spotlight. Yes you can say Bioware should have pushed the female protagonist of the the ME games on to the public stage years ago, but to do so is to miss the point. Bioware have acknowledge that they got it wrong and are doing something about it. I personally see nothing to complain about. FemShep gets some much deserved and overdue public attention and we get to see our favourite lady finally presented to the world.

To add this isn't directed at anyone in this thread, nor am I bashing anyone, it's just how I see things.

And since Aislinn hasn't posted it yet, I'm going to steal her thunder and post the T-Shirt design I made for her:

My God you're awesome, Sage. Your choice of words in that bolded paragraph is nothing short of genius. ^_^

I agree with you, I don't want to see Shepard's "ta-tas flapping in the wind" as she goes in to battle either.

Rant more please.

@ akari: daw, thanks.

and back at you. i completely agree with your assessment of the femshep 'contest'

you're right. we, the fans, win when femshep gets notice for the bada** warrior woman she is. we win when bioware decides to acknowledge the amazing creation of a female hero in their games that is femshep and videogamers as a whole win because there's at least one resounding female hero to combat the hordes of bad female stereotypes in games.

that is what we were campaigning for from the start, no? :)

My only real concerns are also about choosing the new femshep default based on a facebook popularity contest. I was ridiculously excited when I saw women of color as options for the new default. I voted for the asian looking one and the biracial (maybe half black and something else) looking one. God, what I wouldn't give to see a strong, non-sexualized woman of color as the protagonist in a game. As it stands it does look like the blonde option is in the lead, which is kinda disheartening not because she's blonde, but because she's more stereotypical than the other options I think.  I'm white, but I get sick of seeing the same characters over and over.  My race is already represented in popular media (books, movies, games) and I think it's time to broaden our representation. Who can think of a non white male protagonist (that wasn't a stereotype) in a popular game? As for females, we do have Chell, who I believe is either latina or asian, but that's all I can think of.

Anyway, just wanted to rant about that. I've already come to terms with the fact that I probably won't get what I hope, :? but I can at least be happy that femshep (and women in general) are getting some much needed representation.

Seconding this so much. There is absolutely nothing wrong with blondes, people are taking it totally the wrong way (at least, when I say I don't like blondeShep). In the case of people making moronic 'dumb blonde' jokes? Yeah, they can shut up.

I agree with both of you.  I'm still going to enjoy the marketing that this new FemShep gets.  I guess I'll take little leaps of equality when given them. <3

Also, FemShep boobs in your face "armor" sucks. <_<

"Fourthing" this. You spoke my mind.<3 Those that take the criticims of the Blonde Shep as a personal insult or sign of pettiness are missing the entire point. I also wonder why Bioware chose to use Facebook instead of their own social network for the vote. I don't care to make a Facebook account just for one vote, nor should i have to if I already purchased my right to post here.

Well, blondes are always pretty dang popular. Not that I'm complaining. I wish I knew where you people are getting these high rez screenshots, because it would've been easier to vote having seen what these women look like up close. Ultimately all we can do is cast our votes, and be happy, unhappy, or removed emotionally (like me) from the results, and just be happy that femShep is getting rep'd.

But there are a few non-white female protagonists out there. Hell, this year, we're getting two black male protagonists (probably a first in gaming history). The guy in Starhawk, and the guy in Prototype 2.

We also have; Victor Vance and Luis Lopez from GTA, a bunch for fairly good to great Asian protagonists in JRPGs, that guy in Biotic Commando (though he might be white).

For women we have Nariko from Heavenly Sword (who is one of the best female protagonists in gaming), Beyond Good and Evil's Jade, and I suppose we could also put down Sheva from RE5.

Roland (the soldier) in Borderlands is all I can think of. but then, i'm a pretty casual gamer. oh, and all of jade empire...does that count? Completely agree with your point, though I also agree with you (And others) that the attention to femshep is welcome, even if we get a blonde.

As for dumb blonde jokes, *rolls eyes*  I'm a blonde and have lived with blonde jokes my entire life. There is something very ironic about being in grad school and being told blonde jokes by the dept. chair (no joke). But I imagine femshep can rise above them. The best response as always a cool glance with raised eyebrows, then look away without saying anything. ;)

Looks more like something FemShep would wear while "intimately roleplaying" with her LI rather than a combat suit. Or perhaps something from Joker's extranet bookmarks...

Joker: Say, Commander...
FemShep: No. Not on a bet.

Not quite like the links to images of various class "armor" for a game called Guild Wars someone posted over on the FemShep site's chat. I think my reaction to those was "looks more like lingerie" or similar.

@Crash, that pic of armor is just wrong, try to imagine you (man) fighting husks and cerberus with Varric's cloth (Yes, open chest). Just No no for it, but the rest except the open arm look nice though.

You know, it's not all that simple.
26.817 voted on the Blonde yes, but did you know that 20.882 people total voted on the ethnic choices?
Or that 30.832 people voted on dark/black haired Sheps?
That only 4.363 people voted on a redhead? < If I was a redhead I'd feel really put off by this =P

Aside from that people chose their sheps for a variety of reasons, the actual hair STYLE rather then their ethnic persuasion or hair color also being a mayor contributor, there are too many factors. Though looking at the sumup I gave uptop should already illustrate how devided voting really is. In the end though there are 4 dark haired options and only ONE blonde, so whoever wants a blonde goes for that ONE shep (aside from possibly picking the hairstyle) while anyone going for a darker haired Shep has four, and a clear 'ethnic' Shep has two choices.

Adding to that I've always gotten the idea (which I can't back up with numbers cause I just lack the motivation to even try hehe) that while europeans are considered non ethnic, the non ethnic crowd is LESS than the socalled 'ethnic' crowd worldwide. Meaning, ethnic is less of an exotic choice moreover then a typical non-ethnic one is.
Caucasians (also Caucasoid, Europid, or Europoid) would be logicly MORE put off with the lack of ethnic voting then an ethnic person would be judging from that statement. There's just less of us worldwide.
Ofc this is horribly simplified as an asian person for example might find other ethnic persuasions as exotic as they'd find caucasians, Blonde's are stereotypically considered european and because of the short supply in them worldwide they would be a logical 'exotic' choice. (you can find some info on migrating blondes on the wiki page too)

Oh also! Blonde is a recessive gene, where dark/black is dominant, same with brown eyes being dominant =P

Also lemme leave you with a quote from the wiki about the blonde stereotype:
"In contemporary popular culture, it is often stereotyped that men find blonde women more attractive than women with other hair colors.[40] For example, Anita Loos popularized this idea in her 1925 novel Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.[40] Blondes are often assumed to have more fun, for example in a Clairol commercial for hair colorant they use the phrase "Is it true blondes have more fun?"[40] Some women have reported after lightening their hair they feel other people expect them to be more fun-loving.[40] The "blonde stereotype" is also associated with being less serious or less intelligent.[40] This can be seen in blonde jokes.[40] It is believed the originator of the "dumb blonde" was an 18th century blonde French prostitute named Rosalie Duthe whose reputation of being beautiful but dumb inspired a play about her called Les Curiosites de la Foire (Paris 1775).[40] Blonde actresses have supported this role; some of them include Marilyn Monroe, Judy Holliday, Jayne Mansfield, and Goldie Hawn during her time at Laugh-In.[40] Alfred hitchcock preferred to cast blonde women for major roles in his films as he believed that the audience would suspect them the least, comparing them to "virgin snow that shows up the bloody footprints", hence the term "hitchcock blonde".[48] This stereotype has become so ingrained it has spawned counter-narratives, such as in the 2001 film Legally Blonde in which Reese Witherspoon succeeds at Harvard despite biases against her beauty and blonde hair.[40]"

There's way more on mythology and history of the Blonde in the link if you're interested.
