Thank you for that article. To be honest, reading it has been quite ego-boosting, as he makes two points I've made here on BSN too, namely that one reason why Femshep is great is because they didn't pay attention to her, and that our culture identifies "normal" with "male", with female being a different, non-normal type of being, the result of that being Femshep acting naturally gives people the impression that she's acting "manly".
I share his fear that the writers will now have Femshep in mind when writing Shepard for ME3, and they will write awful othering stereotypical stuff, thinking they are "paying due attention" to her or "recognizing" her. Aside from two or three lines and appropiate pronouns, both Sheps have always had the same exact lines of dialogue. That shouldn't change and I
really hope it doesn't.
