It's pretty darn good, you have to use "up" styles to sort of complete the asiany look exactly why it works that way I can't quite explain. Maybe it triggers some stereotype or it corrects for the wonky looking "asian" eyes that BioWare threw together.

Shepard’s War - The best article on BioWare's femShep marketing campaign.  (IMHO)

Fortunately, it's more about the happy accident that is femshep than the campaign itself.

Thanks! and i most definetly agree with you. i just wish they had an up-do style with bangs really.
and getting the eyes right took some time, although sometimes when femshep does her 'serious face' my femshep will completely close her eyes instead of squint, hahaha!

Thank you for that article. To be honest, reading it has been quite ego-boosting, as he makes two points I've made here on BSN too, namely that one reason why Femshep is great is because they didn't pay attention to her, and that our culture identifies "normal" with "male", with female being a different, non-normal type of being, the result of that being Femshep acting naturally gives people the impression that she's acting "manly".

I share his fear that the writers will now have Femshep in mind when writing Shepard for ME3, and they will write awful othering stereotypical stuff, thinking they are "paying due attention" to her or "recognizing" her. Aside from two or three lines and appropiate pronouns, both Sheps have always had the same exact lines of dialogue. That shouldn't change and I really hope it doesn't.

This person has made some good points, and I agree with most of them. However, I don't like that they said that female Shepard is the "One True Shepard." God, I hate this attitude!

Interesting article.  Gives me an idea for the next tagline:  FemShep:  The Emphasis is on "Bad Ass," not "Woman".

People like to rally around their own personal preferences.  That’s what I attest it to and we can agree ... or not.  It’s kind of like saying Sean Connery is the one true James Bond.  Everyone has their own opinion … even though Connery IS the one true James Bond.

Hmph. Sleep all day and about 5 pages of something about blonds and/or pretty women can't be scary. Explain Noah Shepard then. Not blonde, but definitely the prettiest, scariest force of DOOOOOM in the Terminus Systems.

Otherwise, regarding blondes....

Ok, FemShep question time.

Your FemShep has her own car, weather it's a civilian style hovercar used in ME2, or something more mundane. What's her bumper sticker?

"My other ride is a Mako."

And

"If you can't stand behind our marines, feel free to stand in front of them."

Even though I share the concerns with some of his points, but I still have faith in BW to make her just right or even better. What they are doing now is a milestone for the future female hero character, it will never be an easy task at all.

I know that I'm being slightly too optimistic, if you have more great ideas regarding femshep, I suggest you to tweet the idea directly to David Silverman. The more they know about how people feels on femshep, the more likely we have a better femshep.

@Jamie it is a good article, thanks :)

I think we're golden as far as writing goes. Have you seen Pat Weekes' livejournal entries about FemShep? Dude is awesome.

I second Liisi's faith in Weekes. Couldn't ask for a better writer, really. And that's just one of them! I do have reservations, but honestly I've got more hope than dread on this. There's a reason Bioware's my fave developer, after all. <3

Wait, but that would mean...ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh!! HAH! :o

My Shep's bumper sticker would be this:

"Horn broken. Watch for M-920 Cain."

As for the concern for FemShep, I think we'll be okay. Shep's VA said they were doing awesome things for her, so I'm excited. XD

"Nicekuski" :whistle:

Since there has been a lot of blonde Shepard talk, I decided to check out how my Shep would look with that hair.

Agreed really.  As hyper said these are still concepts to see what the fans like the look of.  I would still expect a big overhaul of detail and texture.

Anyway this thread did its job in the end:  http://social.biowar...3/index/7187121

Bioware know exactly how to carry on with femshep and theres a lot of worry that suddenly they will forget how to do it or will just stop.  That couldnt be further then the truth as we and Bioware know how important an issue it is.

Very interesting read though and its good to see atricles like this

I say we start a campaign to get Marge on the preset sliders for ME3!!!  Whos with me?!!!

I think Akodo might object :P

If they asked nicely, and throw a "look at the nice thing you can do with ME2 CC" line here and there, then I would agree. But again, it's a matter of taste, some would like her, some wouldn't, some would disregard her for being non believable "too cute" Shepard XD

It would be kinda unfair to other awesome Sheps, that's the only real problem here =D

Indeed, thus why its either Jane Shepard or ground up. Personally im so glad they started from scratch with her again. Femshep had that unique position of allowing it.

Anyway for those who havent seen it yet, heres a new Jen Hale interview =)
