I think you can actually hug her post-Collector ship mission. She mentions wanting to give EDI a hug for saving you and you can reply, 'I'm right here. Where's my hug?'

Hah! I can just hear Jennifer Hale's delivery of that line in my head.

It was pretty good.  Plus, I feel it could be either interpreted as flirty, or playfully friendly, depending on how you wish to interpret it.

I'm guessing this is dependent on the selected dialog options? Because I always talk to her post-SM, and all she does is mimic Thane's way of recalling things, and then thanks me and goes back to work as usual. I don't remember there being an option that says "I'm right here."



Fortunately, though, I have a save right after the suicide mission, and I haven't talked to anyone yet, so I'll try and see this time. I hope it doesn't require having romanced her.

Spoilers, I guess:



Shep will only get that hug if she's already had "dinner" and a "talk" with Kelly before the mission itself. If Shep hasn't had the date with her at that point, that's when you usually get the option for it(providing you've been getting Shep to flirt with Kelly at every opportunity prior to that point in the game).
Edit - More info: Kelly says that if EDI had a body she give her a big hug.
Shep: Where's my hug?
Then you either get the hug or Kelly wishing she'd get the chance to know Shep better, followed by the "let's have dinner" option.

I got it once with my Shepard who was just being friendly with her, but never picked any of the flirty lines ("I'll do more than catch you, Kelly", for example). She also did not have dinner with Kelly.

Yeah, that's possible. All of my Sheps flirt with her, even those with a LI in ME2, so...

But for the required flirting I mentioned above, that was referring to the "dinner" option.

Does anybody else agree that both Jennifer Hale and Kelly's VA have an excellent chemistry between them? I quite enjoyed the dialogue and interactions between Shepard and Kelly, and happen to believe the latter to be one of the better written characters in ME2.

Hale did come off as friendly and very warm around Kelly,
while maleShep was more Creepy stalkerish in many scenes.

Also I love playing femshep just to say:
Show me yours, I bet mines bigger.

There aren't many FemShep-only lines (LI's aside), but those few lines (eg. meeting Harkin in ME1) alone make playing FemShep worth it!
