Skipping the handwaving and getting to what the dude says he does say...

What I am saying is that, in a male dominated industry saturated in shooting-and-blowing-stuff-up (be it by the hand of a man or woman), making your game stand out, especially to a new audience, means trying to work in something that makes your game unique -- in this case the CC.

So your point is that CCs are good. Whoa, knock me over with a feather.

Speculated differences in male and female likes and dislikes in games are just those: speculations.
RL shows us that more often then not males and females differ asmuch they agree on subjects independent of gender. Making statements on the subject is unproductive (and sometimes volatile). Generalization in the sense of "some people like X while others like Y" works wonders.

Which is why I often say "typically" and "generally" in relation figures to marketing -- in which going into the specifics of an individual simply doesn't apply.

Well, at least you didn't argue for no good reason this time. Even if I did put all that work into my post to make you understand.

Yeah. Why not emphasize the CC in trailers to get people interested?

In fact, why not do this for both mShep and femShep? Have a trailer that shows a few of the CC faces, finally settling on Vanderloo/Standard FemShep. Then have them gear up, and go and fight off a few dozen husks, while the Reapers loom above him/her.

Then end the trailer with a on-liner like "Break the cycle", or "Choose how it ends".

Edit to address the edit.

So you went from "the females won't be attracted to ME3 because they, unlike men, don't want to blow **** up and look cool, but customization" to "CCs are good in general, let's make manshep and femshep versions of the same exact trailer for both".

Nice development. I like your last message more than your former.:)

I made it explicitly clear that that's not what I was saying from the outset. Merely, that to differentiate ME from the hoards of other shoot em ups -- to the casual gamer women -- emphasizing the CC would--

Never mind.

I don't believe in that CC i.e. "virtual dolls for women" thing. To me it looks like it's the story and interesting characters that matters. That seems to be the thing that has been managed to hook women into gaming. I might be wrong but that's my personal observation (I'm not sure if I'm interpreting it right). The difference might not be that big when it comes to actual gameplay between genders.

But hey, what do I know. I never even had a sister.
