Hm....Spectre, freelance, pirate or Shadow Broker.

On another note, I cannot stop drawing in paint. I mean, my art is sh*t, but I just....I keep drawing stuff. So saying that, have this really bad piece of sparring art, Kasumi vs. Lili. (I know, I can't draw clothes right >_< ) so....tell me what you think, but be kind, I can't draw to save my life....

Freelance all the way.  She'd probably still help out the Council and the Alliance from time to time, but she prefers the freedom of being able to make her own decisions without being bogged down by politics or beuauracracy.

Plus, since her girlfriend's the most powerful information broker in the galaxy, who needs other resources?

After ME2 and Arrival, Hrist is done with both the council and the Alliance. If she has to pick someone to side with she'd go with the Shadow Broker, since Liara's now in charge of the organisation.

@Sage
I see. It might be be that there's some kind of "craptalize enhance my pictures" switch hidden somewhere and this time you won the jackpot in lottery. To be honest I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to settings. Be it NVIDIA CP or game configs, I double check everything.

I also avoid every image hosting site that re-encodes pictures like imgur.

@Ottemis
Very nice indeed.

How many iterations have your FemSheps gone through? I don't mean trips through the CC necessarily, since I've done 8-12 in one sitting. I mean how many times have you "settled" on a look for them, gone through one or two playthroughs, and then thought "well maybe I can tweak this here... and that there..."?

In her first playthrough, Alice used to look like this:
Posted Image

Then I did a pretty significant makeover, and she looked like her (as of yet) current form:
Posted Image

The reason I ask is that I took her back into the CC last night because I was never too happy with her profile. I don't have any pictures of the changes (which were minor) but part of me feels bad that I want to change her look at all at this point. Any of you guys go through this? Or have you been consistently happy with how she looks?

@ TheMarshal: I've posted this afore, but I'll do it again, since I find it interesting to see the progression of femsheps, too. Kyrie had an incarnation long ago before I lost all my saves/screenies of her. Since ME2 came out, she's evolved quite a bit:

Original remake: Kyrie - right coloring, face shape off (this is one of the few good pics of her)

Posted Image

Next try: Sophia - loved her jawline, felt she was too 'cold' to be kyrie

Posted Image

Kyrie again: hack hair project on this model. a few things wrong with her face - eyes too high and wide. it's hard to see on any one pic, but you notice it in game and when she's animated.

Posted Image

Kyrie for real: 4th+ playthrough and a bazillion times through the CC later.....

I've always been consistently happy with my Shep. I had other plans on how she would look but as i've said to other people. I didn't create her. I found her in the CC. It just felt so right and i only did small improvements to make her look more as i wanted.

Hrist has had a few changes since her first incarnation. I don't have any pictures though as I deleted them all when she got her first major tweak.

She had quite gaunt cheeks in her first iteration and they went because I got sick of her having N64 style polygons for cheek dones. I did a couple of playthroughs with her after that before I realised her ears were sticking out too much, so she got another tweak in the CC and another playthrough.

This was all done over a few months and I'm now very happy with how she looks and will not be changing her again. She is complete. ^_^

The only one of my Shepards that I have an old and new shot of is Lenneth:

Posted Image

She looked too similar to default Jane and I wanted her to look more unique so she got a pretty major overhaul as you can see from the shot above.

I don't have many original screens of Kate, this one the color is lousy but you can see there have been a few changes between ME1 and ME2. With the exception of possibly the hair I most likely won't make any further changes for ME3.

Well I've done 5 major builds of Danielle.

Posted Image

V1 - Start point, trying to recreate an old character from the 360 and just coming off the Dragon Age Toolset I was learning the limits of the ME CC all over again.

V2 - Changed the hair and tried to blend the jaw line into the cheekbones and chin better.

V3 - Got the features into the right place and blended the lines together as smoothly as possible.

V4 - First use of a TexMod and using eyeshape #8, though she looked too harsh and too old for what I had become use to.

Posted Image

This is the end point, clean smooth lines and a TexMod with smoother looking skin and darker eye make-up but regular lip shape and texture. I certainly took a long time to get my designs right, I played both games from beginning to end with all these major versions.

Posted Image

Colleen had no major versions since I didn't even start work on her until I was on V3 of Danielle, she was based partly on earlier character, partly on a person and partly on a concept in my head. I just worked on it in the ME2 CC until things kinda just clicked together. She turned out well and how good she looked in game was what got me back in the CC for the other design. I'm not afraid to go back into the CC multiple times and make drastic changes to characters I've played with for hours beforehand. It doesn't always work out but if you don't experiment you don't learn anything.

Wow!  5 revisions?! Katie (my blonde) went through 8 versions of the CC before I was happy with her.  However, Cara (my current avatar) only went through 3 versions before I was satisfied with her.

As for who my sheps would support at the end of it all...

Cara:  Freelancer, with Shadow Broker leanings (one of her best friends is the Broker after all! ;)), who accepts contracts as and when they interest her.  But, she might be persuaded by the Alliance in exchange for complete autonomy from Command and Council oversight.

Katie:  Spectre.  She believes in the ideals of a multi-racial society that can live in harmony, and accepts that the only reason most people can enjoy their lives is because people like her keep the nasties at bay.

But that's just how I see it.  Who knows, ME3 may surprise me when it comes to me making in-character decisions during the game.  I was surprised in Arrival when Cara chose to try and warn the Batarians, despite her absolute hatred of them.

I'm pretty happy with how Alice looks, but it's a few minor issues that I'd like to address, namely that every picture I have of her is from the front because I'm not happy with how she looks from the side.  I think I've got it nailed down to the nose (would like something with a smaller bridge) and the fact that she doesn't have much in the way of cheekbones.  Someone mentioned N64-style polygons on the cheekbones and I had to laugh, 'cause my first attempt at giving her cheekbones gave her these jagged things sticking out of her face.  I'll take better pictures tonight if I've made any progress.

Cheekbone depth isn't anyone's fault though. BW should have given us a proper CC that allowed us to see the PC's head from all angles. Instead, they decided they would just have Shepard turn his/her head to a slight angle, from which it is utterly impossible to get a good cheek depth perception.

Love
it! I really like the music you used; very high-energy. I especially
liked the beacon scenes (they synced with the music especially well) and
how you focused on the visions at one point. Also, your Shep looks
stunning. ;D She's practically glowing.

Thank you so much! I'm very, very glad you liked it. I actually have an HD version now, but I had to reconstruct a lot of the pieces and I'm not sure I was as successful as the first time, unfortunately. :/ I'll have to play with WMM a little and see if I can get it right. If I do, I'll post it up again. :)

*So* cool that she's played some of Mass Effect now. And liked it, no less! I hope she'll keep going--the series is awesome, and knowing the context of the universe a little extra well couldn't hurt anything.

My main FemShep would prefer to work with Cerberus if TIM were just the slightest bit more kind-hearted and less shady. She's a Paragade who really, REALLY doesn't like political bs. However, Cerberus would have to be just a little bit more willing to play by Alliance rules, or at least more cautious.

When it comes down to it, she'd go wherever Anderson and/or Hacket told her. They've earned her loyalty by backing her up when it counted. But she's really, really sick of the Council. I guess that means freelance is the best option for her.

Ryla's with Liara, so she'd definitely pick the Shadow Broker if it gave her the opportunity to stick with her girl.

Good for you, giving FemShep a shot to win your heart. *high five* And I am looking forward to the same with Thane! :D If Thane lives, that will make things extra sticky, I daresay. Realizing the guy you're with is *not* going to die can force a person to think about what they really want. (Feron!;))

*still giggling* I just have this feeling looking at her that if I saw her in person, I would just run up to her and pinch her cheeks, and then she'd punch me out. She's so the type who is cute but is NOT amused by that fact.

For my main FemShep, I definitely went through this. I can't count the number of restarts I did in both games. It was after the first ME2 playthrough that I finally truly set out to make the face that I would settle down with and keep. And after a lot of cursing and wandering off to do stuff while waiting for the CC to pop up again, I finally made a face that I was 90% happy with. What flaws she does have are minor enough to ignore.

With Ryla, it was easier. I knew the CC better, I knew what I wanted to do and I made that face only once and stuck with it. Sometimes you get lucky and it just works, but I think flaws in appearance can add character to a FemShep.

I find getting the cheeks to look right on femshep is one of the hardest parts of building a good one. it's like the CC doesn't WANT you to flesh her face out properly once you've got the underlying features in place.

course, DA2 was the same way. i spent ages trying to give my chars rounded cheeks
