And rahrah FemShep!  All of my Shepards across ME1 and 2 are female.  I think it's pretty darn neat that you can play a butt-kicking, galaxy-saving woman who's strong, confident and gets the job done.  Alot of credit goes out to Jennifer Hale, she makes Shepard sound like a woman in control (except when talking to Jacob those first few times).

There's some nice art in here!  I always like seeing screenshots and reading stories / bios of people's FemSheps, it's interesting to see how others see her.

There is indeed! The armchair group psychologist in me says the lack of promotional FemShep material means players develop a more personal connection to her and feel driven to express it, which is why there's so much excellent FemShep fanart and less for MaleSheps, but like I say, that's just me armchairing.


You have basically nailed what I have been trying to say elsewhere.  There is so much art, so much fan fiction, so many videos out there because we are in a way, repressed.

This.  I am interested to read about how others roleplay their FemSheps.

And a reminder to everyone....

Discussing the different LI's that FemShep can pursue is fine, but please choose your words carefully.  We are all here because we enjoy playing as FemShep but of course not all of us romanced the same character.  I would like to hear what Shepard found appealing in a certain character she romanced.  <3

Twelve playthroughs of ME1 (all 6 classes to level 60), four of ME2 so far, and not one of them MaleShep (though I've made it to a second plot world with one). Hale's voice is Shepard's voice to me. The article in particular nails it; she sounds like a commander. From the first line I heard her speak, "And they don't send Spectres on shake-down runs, either", I felt like this was a female protagonist who'd earned everything she had. She's one of the more 'real' female video game characters I've encountered in my lifetime of pixel-pushing, at least in my opinion.

And as I say, I've had about two solid decades of video games under my belt; I've played more "lantern-jawed male space marine saves the universe" than I can even count. It's refreshing to do so with a female lead, and one who doesn't ever, even for a moment, feel like fanservice.

Even though I usually play as a male Shepard, I completely agree. I thoroughly enjoyed my female Shepard playthrough's of ME1 and 2. There's just something so compelling about her. I don't know how to explain it, but it's definitely there.

i always felt that the fem shepard belonged with garrus or tali jsut the way they talk to each other it seems to fit in my mind as for roleplaying fem shep i like the rogue infiltrator fem shep but i do play biotic or engineer shepard and i try to play with no guns

I have a crazy crush on good female lead since i first saw Ellen Ripley. The scene in Aliens when she is looking for that little girl "idontrememberhername" is just one of the most emotional in all of the sci-fi movies i've seen. It had so much tension mixed with almost fanatical dedication and some motherly instincts.. just woa! Male lead would never possess so many sublayers and contradictions. But i can see why is it so hard to embody, so i've no hope of seeing any worthy female leads anytime soon.

That's interesting.  I see Tali and Garrus as Shepard's good friends.  I like how they have been in both games which gives them a chance for their friendship to develop.  Too bad Ashley and Liara couldn't be Shepard's squadmates either though.  :crying:  *Ryn waits for DLC featuring Liara and the Virmire survivor*

Also.....

Fantastic work, TZ!  Your Shepard rocks the little black dress.  I like blonde Shepards too. :wub:

Ah yes! Hmmm, this thread just might become my 3rd home, depending on whats happening in the group threads Im in. All my sheps, bar one, are female. Or were until I lost all my saves transfering to a new 360 slim :P On the plus side: My summer is going to be DA O, Fallout, ME1/2 and Borderlands all over again.
