I always kinda metagame that LM. I prefer the heavy weapon upgrade over the assault rifle one, so always end up with Vido escaping. It does produce a third verbal showdown with Zaeed though, which I prefer over him just walking away from a burning corpse.

punching and then shoving a gun in zaeed's face, all in the name of being paragon, is teh awesome. so often paragon can lean a little too goody-goody, so this is one moment that i really love as a paragrade.

I actually replayed that whole mission twice last night, and replayed the gate conversation about ten times each time to get the RP aspect right. Jane just wasn't "Ruthless" enough to go along with leaving the poor refinery workers to their fate, but wasn't quite paragon enough for the pre-punch top-right dialogue (that enables the interrupt) to make sense either. So I, as player, missed out on the punch for the canonical way Jane handled Zaeed's LM, but still pulled the gun on him (as there the dialogue suited her character).

She started each of the three conversations with renegade replies, but due to how much of an *rse Zaeed was about 'HIS' mission, she ended up with the paragon choices to have the final say each time (she's stubborn like that). It's possibly the most paragon points she's accumilated in one mission in a long time, due to how bad*ss Shepard can be as a paragon in his LM.

I suppose it's odd to suddenly realize that one's canon Shepard bears a close resemblance to a girl one knew back in high school? Minus the scars, of course.

Alternatively, do this (minus the * in each tag):

The AI Hacking does a lot more than turn an enemy into a potential ally. It csn also immediately draw fire from all the other enemies, leaving the engineer free to charge towards them. These enemeis can themselves be large and unhackable directly, but nonetheless through this method are hacked by proxy .
