But not everyone here is willing to play with sharks with meat steaks tied around their necks. Yes its that thread is civil right now. But how long until another troll jumps in and isn't run out immediately? I don't understand why you are so gung ho about trying to get us to post there when several don't want to.

One thing I'd like to add to the early conversations, I see a few comments about the fact that not everyone has pictures of their Shepard to post and hence are left feeling left out.  If you're a contributing member to the thread and ask, typically someone will offer to take a few shots for you if you have a facecode for them.  I personally have done this for a lot of people that play on the xbox and can't take their own screenshots. 

Adding one of my favorite pictures of Kate since I haven't posted many of her lately.

All the Sheps I've played through so far are of the serious variety. I'm so tempted to do a crazy renegade run too though, especially after watching this video. So much lulz to be had. xD

1) Your willingness to fight on is excellent, and I applaud you. 

2) The "sharks" that you speak of aren't welcome in that thread. It is clearly defined in the thesis, the mods watch the thread, and the morale is fairly high there.

3) I am of the firm belief that the longer the thread remains civil, the harder it will be for one 14 year old basement dweller to destroy it.

Only my canon is serious. My throwaway characters are exclusively paragon only for the reason that I'm curious how they handle situations or what they have to say -- lines I'm not likely to hear on my renegon. The concept of smooth talking one's way out of a situation somewhat baffles me such as making a bad guy see the light and feel guilty about his actions. So I tend to pick neutral or renegade responses that are more likely to get people to react in the interest of self-preservation, which makes more sense to me. One example of this is convincing Grunt to join my cause just because I can talk tough or patrotic? He seems way more impressed with Shepard if I forego the paragon/renegade choices and use a gun to do the talking instead. Does that make sense?

I end up playing the same way. Doesn't seem to bore me though... I never actually plan anything, I'll just see how it goes (...and end up playing paragon/light side no matter what game).

I've never made a Shepard as just a throw away character. Well, I once started a default Shep with the intention of just picking the renegade or bottom option for everything, but I didn't get beyond the Citadel before I gave up. I can't play manShep anymore.

I have done a playthrough with Hrist where I switched her to a Vanguard, purely because I wanted to try the class out, and decided to do things differently to some degree. She took mostly the same decisions, but I decided to kill of a bunch of squadies during the suicide mission to see how things would play out in ME3, with so few people left. Garrus, Tali & Miranda lived, the res bought it one way or the other. Apart from Grunt. He's still in the tank because I want to see how the game handles that, since he's not technically dead, he's just sleeping.

I'm just going to come out and ask this. What exactly is it you want from the posters in this thread?

If people don't want to move to the combined thread that's their choice and you don't have any right to constantly harrass them in to doing so. People post here because they want to. If they want to post in other threads they'll do so. If they don't want to, then they don't have to. People have looked at the combined thread and decided it's not for them. You should respect their decisions and leave it at that, rather than perpetually repeating the same point over and over again like you have some kind of agenda.

Ugh, if you're talking about ME2, I honestly don't know how many subfoders I have under "Saves"
Some were NG+, some were PTs to try different classes, a facecode downloaded from the web,etc. I even have some atrocious ending like, only 2 people survived the SM
I know I should delete all those but for some reason I haven't been able to

Well, I'm sorry Akari! But when I have several different people arguing with me -- some of whome get offended if I'm not able to respond to their individual posts, I just decide to be safe and respond to all of them! If they all are arguing the same point from different angles, then I am bound to repeat myself. I'm sorry if this offends, annoys, or just angers you! 

But hey, they say that it takes 14 times for the average human to memorize something, so I guess we'll all have learned something by the time this stupid argument is over!

I've never really done the non-serious playthroughs, I guess I never saw the point. Plus when you change faces as much as I do just getting a "clean" canon playthrough is time consuming enough.

I have one serious pt with my Shepard and a bunch of throwaways where I change her class.   I typically make the same major decisions each pt though (I never sacrifice the Council or keep the Base, for example).

No one has prejudged the combined thread. People have judge it based on their experience of it. If people don't want to go back that is THEIR choice and you nor anyone else has the right to perpetually try to change their mind. Respect other people's opinions and decisions. If you want to post in the combined thread then go for it. I don't want to so stop trying to convice me or anyone else who doesn't want to otherwise.

I've done both.  My first play was blind, most after that are kinda planned (with reloads if I don't get get an "in character" result).  I've also just dicked around for fun (usually when going for achievements, though...).

I feel like guns.  Anyone else feel like guns?

I wouldn't be able to do that. The time investment is too large. I like to try out new things or classes or react differently in dialogue, though. Playing a renegade is fun, but I will stay pragmatic. Most of my games have ME3 in mind. Doing a couple of MaleSheps was silly enough.

I have one that was completely Throw away. It was to get the insanity Achievement for ME1 (the last one I needed to compelte it) Thought it was with my lvl 60 dudeshep and it was a speed run so he killed EVERY Killable NPC. That one will never see the light of ME2 though. For femshep though my garrus Roamnce is a throwaway since I did it just to see his romance path and I was not satisfied with it. other than that the "perfect" playthroughs were i do everything are my serious ones with RP reasons behind everything.

To date I have 4 femsheps, none of whom I would call "throwaway" but all of whom I try to make differing decisions with. My latest has been as middle of the road as I could make her and it has been a fun experience hearing a lot of dialog I'd never heard before. I've also not been able to make all the paragon/renegade checks as I have in the past. It will be interesting to see how the suicide mission plays out for her.
