though i wonder if the headline sounds dirty because it has femshep on it and that was intentional, or i am reading into things, or if they'd pick a different headline for maleshep. i mean, "hands on" right next to her boob armor...

maybe that's just me.

but other than that, kewl!

It always bothered me that Shepard's eyes were open during this scene, but after a bit of Phot6oshopping, it looks like she's asleep.
Liara: Shepard? Aren't you going to kiss me? The fight is over. Shepard?
Shepard: Zzzzzzzzz.

Man, why do I always miss all the good discussions?

I only have one Shep, out of... *counts*... nine who I actually care about, who has no real flaws. Jakarta's are relatively minor; she's overfocused on duty, and sees the world very much in terms of "soldier" and "civilian" (one group is valid targets, the other is to be protected at all costs) which can lead her to treat people with less respect than they deserve (she never liked letting Liara off the SR-1 and could never have seen her as a potential lover, for instance).

Varick on the other hand is deeply broken. I designed her as a bit of a Xena character; Torfan for her was all about revenge for Mindoir, and she knows it, and she hates that in herself and has been out for redemption ever since. She's largely paragon, but it takes a lot of self-control for her to not flip out on every batarian she sees, and she second-guesses herself constantly because she doesn't trust her moral compass. It's part of what drew her so strongly to Liara - the moment she fell in love was the moment Liara saved her from killing the rachni queen - and it's why she ultimately left the new, vengeful, sometimes-hard-calls-need-to-be-made ME2 Liara for kindred remorseful spirit Thane. And it's also why her answer to this question:

Jakarta wants very badly to turn in Rael, and spends the next week absolutely furious with Tali for even asking her to do anything else, but ultimately she can see the political consequences and the way the Fleet will break apart and goes for the fillibuster. Varick, on the other hand, is completely emotionally incapable of non-scorched-earth responses to war crimes. Rael must answer, because she never did.

As for the other conversation, I don't generally double-date Sheps, but both Kuan Yin and Varick went for Liara in ME1. It's probably less weird because by the time I was rolling Kuan Yin I already knew Varick and Liara weren't permanent.

Heh. To my mind it's pretty easy to justify turning over the evidence from a paragon perspective. Rael tortured sentient beings, and Tali wants him to get away with it out of knee-jerk filial loyalty. It's an understandable sentiment, but not, to my mind, a particularly morally convincing one. I've always thought that the options at the trial were an example of someone on the design team completely failing to understand that P/R is not "nice/assh*le;" just because handing over the evidence is being mean to Tali doesn't mean it's not the Paragon thing to do (the only real benefit is principle, since it hurts your team and makes your life harder in the short run), and just because keeping the evidence makes everyone happy doesn't mean it's not the Renegade thing to do (it's a very direct, take-no-chances decision that prioritizes the mission and team cohesion over abstract principle). And unlike the Legion LM decision, Shep never says anything to justify her actions, she just takes them. So it's on you as a player to decide why you're doing it.

The dialog with Tali afterward, however, pretty much forces you to say that you did it for Tali's sake so she wouldn't get exiled. Which is... not a Paragon justification. If that helps you decide.
