P.S. sentinels had warp in ME1 too O_O I play my vanguards as biotic/combat hybrid , though granted, a lot of it has to do with bonus powers and my adoration for Shockwave, but still

This stat right here
"18 percent of everyone who plays Mass Effect plays it with a female character.”
I hate it. I hate when people mention it. I hate that people never take into account different variables. I want to burn with fire, lots and lots of fire.
I don't see what's so wrong with it. It's just a number, and numbers are neutral, meaning they have the significance you allow them to have.

On the plus side the fact they have marketed her now that figure is sure to increase. Additionally with all the feedback we have given regarding inconsistencies between the two genders I hope they spend more time resolving a lot of them. I am confident they will in light of recent events.
Just because there are less femshep players doesnt mean the quality of our playthrough should be inferior.

only bugs me if people use it as a justification for not wanting to make sure that femshep specific content is not polished up. otherwise? so what.

While it never hurts to be optimistic, I'll believe it when I see it. Sorry, I'm just very cynical about ... well, everything.

I think you will find they did not.
I play on Insanity, so a Shockwave build is a lot harder to pull off. Not impossible, it still has its uses - Jakarta rolls Evi/Mattock with 3 Shockwave/Area Reave and I love playing her, she's totally brutal - but she's nowhere near as fast at level clears as Ingwe (whose only biotics are Charge and Slam). It's a fun build, but an objectively mechanically inferior one (as opposed to Varick, who's normally a caster sentinel all about Warp/Overload/CryoThrow who rarely even fires her gun, but who can clear a room equally well as an assault sentinel with a shotgun who spends every cooldown on tech armor).

I'm more worried about the handling of some of the characters who don't have nearly the popularity of femshep and who inspire actual hate in people. femshep might be in a minority, but she's loved, not hated.

All returning characters should get equal 'love' from the devs regardless of popularity, I agree.
The cynic in me thinks this won't happen, though.

Quite frankly I couldn't care less what the percentages are. BioWare doesn't actually know anything about my playthroughs because I choose not to upload data to them. You'd be surprised (or not, actually) how many choose the default soldier male Shepard just because he happens to be the quick start Shepard. But anyway, it doesn't affect me at all that I belong in the 18%. I may and will belong in to many minority categories in real life but it's not a bad thing considering that many times what majority does is just stupid.

Hey, I missed these. Prettiest Shep! EDIT: ^ aaand that makes for a good TopShep!
(I tried to capture my Shep on that interruption, but it was too evil looking for my poor eyes. There are things humanity is not meant to see.)

I'm not sure why being in a minority of players is such a big deal. all in all its not as much of a minority as, say fans of certain romances and yet, here's bioware still adding those romances in, even when numbers tells them that 3% or less of all the players enjoyed a particular subplot. why I prefer to play female characters whenever possible, femshep in particular is the first time I've ever encountered a phenomena where people wanted specific marketing for specific genders. to me, just marketing the fact that you CAN in fact customize your character in all ways, is more then enough. I don't mind trailers featuring default male.
I'm sure, some of the love also comes from protagonist being voiced, before characters just weren't as fleshed out without a voice, so it really didn't matter as much.
maybe its becasue I also happen to be a fan of some of the least beloved characters, i don't mind being in a minority so much. as long as said minority still exists in some way? /shrug.

that stat does not make no sense when you look at how many more femsheps are out there compared to the male shep even on the face database plus every review blog I read always mentions femshep and hale preformace maybe the femshep players have turned off the send stats options
