Massively.
Any character I play, the way I play the game highly influences the way I think of their personality. Characters who use charge (or scythe) make me think they are impulsive, but also given to protector tendencies, since they jump out onto the front lines. characters that favor stealth and traps make me think they are practical, but may also have renegade 'take them out first before they see us coming' tendencies.
my shep is an adept, so with the emphasis on pinning enemies in place and light guns and armor, i see someone who has crazy faith in their ability to manipulate the battlefield without heavy firepower. this makes me think that shep is confident, precise, perhaps a little cold and hesitant. also probably a little crazy. she goes through the battle planning every move, and thus is divorced emotionally from the moment, even if secretly terrified or high on adrenaline. that probably translates into being that way after battle, too.
um, yeah. this is how i write my shep, too. ![=]](https://lvlt.forum.bioware.com/public/style_emoticons/default/sideways.png)
Haha, that's pretty vigorous! I admit, Jakarta and Ingwe, my two vanguards, both always choose the "let's just blow sh!t up" option in dialog, regardless of para/ren values. Jakarta, however, is flexible enough to look for other solutions if they'll save more lives (she's a Mattock/Evi caster who spends about 60% of her cooldowns on Charge), while Ingwe always, always, always chooses the most direct route (she's a Claymore fighter who spends 90% of cooldowns on Charge).
And Qadira actually switched classes between games, from Singularity vanguard in ME1 to GPS adept in ME2, because Charge in no way suits her playstyle or personality.
(What? I like vanguards.

Serenity's an interesting case. She's a sniper and a tech expert because she doesn't
do people - she knows she's an ass and doesn't mix well with actual functioning humans, so she likes to stay on the back lines where she isn't required to deal with them, or even better, spend her time with machines. But she's also very aggressive; staying low in a sniper perch is one thing, but sneaking around in general is not something she's suited to. So tactical cloak only about half makes sense for her. I could easily respec her into a Widow soldier with Energy Drain and she'd be just as legit (I'm keeping her tech on the faint hope that we'll get gameplay and dialog in ME3 that acknowledges biotic or tech classes, though).

(Such an ass, she even shoots harmless robots just for standing there.)
