Ok femsheppers here a tough challenge for you!  B)

I need a femshep avatar, or something representative of femshep fitted into a massive 100x100 pixels!!   Yes its a challenge because that is this size:

Your all great a screenshotting and doing massive wallpapers.  Lets see how creative we can get on the small scale!

(yes im failing at trying to make some and need help)  ^_^

Edit: Actually looks like all our avatars are scrunched up to 100 pixels, this may be easier then I thought and im just really sucky right now :P    Extra note, it will get shrunk to 70x70 pixels at times so has to look good at that size too!!  eep!

So here's a question. When you guys make a Shepard, how much do you integrate her class into her character?

Oooh, great question!

My adept, Ara, can attribute her profound biotic power to her mother's red sand addiction. Little did her mother know (or likely care) that her tainted red sand would affect Ara in such a way...

My vanguard's story is very similar to Kaidan's: her mother was downwind when a transport exploded. But no one knew of Nikita's biotics until the events of Mindoir occurred, and she made a painting with a batarian's face. :3

My soldier, Rhiannon, actually developed some very weak biotic power thanks to the red sand canisters in Samara's recruitment mission. She worked with her BFF Miranda to develop her weak Slam-ming ability.

As for my sentinel, Kyrah, well, her story is quite different. Before Akuze, she was the Alliance's best engineer, with an almost supernatural knack for the work. But I RP her as being captured by Cerberus during the events of Akuze, and experimented on: namely, they FORCEFULLY developed biotic power in her.

The class do play a role in her character for sure. It was sneaking and avoiding getting noticed that in large part that saved Sarah's life on Mindoir and she prefers to not be seen or known. The less people know of her the more she can use that to her advantage

Nice little read    =)    I'm glad that they are stepping up the FemShep-attention thing right now. Remember seeing Mass Effect years ago, didn't get it because I didn't know that you can play it as a female. Way to go marketing, lol. I am looking forward to the trailer so so much.

Massively.

Any character I play, the way I play the game highly influences the way I think of their personality. Characters who use charge (or scythe) make me think they are impulsive, but also given to protector tendencies, since they jump out onto the front lines. characters that favor stealth and traps make me think they are practical, but may also have renegade 'take them out first before they see us coming' tendencies.

my shep is an adept, so with the emphasis on pinning enemies in place and light guns and armor, i see someone who has crazy faith in their ability to manipulate the battlefield without heavy firepower. this makes me think that shep is confident, precise, perhaps a little cold and hesitant. also probably a little crazy. she goes through the battle planning every move, and thus is divorced emotionally from the moment, even if secretly terrified or high on adrenaline. that probably translates into being that way after battle, too.

um, yeah. this is how i write my shep, too. =]

It's half her character to me. Kallen's canon version is a soldier so she's very strong and I imagine her to have a similar physique to MShep in terms of definition (though not AS ripped, but she's got a nice body) I also think she's very durable which is why I ahd her spar  2 vs 1 with Grunt and Garrus and win because she's got to be tough physically in case her weapons are rendered useless. Since I mad eher and My canon Mshep siblings (he's an Adept) I also gave her an in game reason for being a Reave soldier since she had biotic potential but it never amounted to anything until Lazarus project when Miranda increased the eezo in her system enough to give her Reave along with her weapons training. I like to think the soldier class is more than just holding down the trigger and I put that in Kallen so that she's Lethal with and without weapons and armor.

Haha, that's pretty vigorous! I admit, Jakarta and Ingwe, my two vanguards, both always choose the "let's just blow sh!t up" option in dialog, regardless of para/ren values. Jakarta, however, is flexible enough to look for other solutions if they'll save more lives (she's a Mattock/Evi caster who spends about 60% of her cooldowns on Charge), while Ingwe always, always, always chooses the most direct route (she's a Claymore fighter who spends 90% of cooldowns on Charge).

And Qadira actually switched classes between games, from Singularity vanguard in ME1 to GPS adept in ME2, because Charge in no way suits her playstyle or personality.

(What? I like vanguards.:bandit:)

Serenity's an interesting case. She's a sniper and a tech expert because she doesn't do people - she knows she's an ass and doesn't mix well with actual functioning humans, so she likes to stay on the back lines where she isn't required to deal with them, or even better, spend her time with machines. But she's also very aggressive; staying low in a sniper perch is one thing, but sneaking around in general is not something she's suited to. So tactical cloak only about half makes sense for her. I could easily respec her into a Widow soldier with Energy Drain and she'd be just as legit (I'm keeping her tech on the faint hope that we'll get gameplay and dialog in ME3 that acknowledges biotic or tech classes, though).

My Jane is a soldier. She is an Earthborn and she was alone almost all her life. I mean she never had real friends. I mean those guys from the gang she joined when she was a kid just used her assistance in their buisness. Jane never liked the gang, but she stood with them to survive.

Being a non-biotic Jane learned to fight, shoot and run. She is proud of combat skills and she likes to use powerful weapons. But Jane has one important rule. She tries to talk to the opponent before starting a fight.

A little bit, but usually the choice of class is down to what I want to play. Hrist is a soldier for example, but I made her at a time when I didn't come up with any sort of background or personality for characters. I just did what I wanted to do with regards to choices. She ended up a soldier because at the time I had played the adept and infiltrator quite a bit so just picked the soldier for something different.

Then of course I started to read this thread and over time she slowly developed a backstory and personality. I had given her throw as a bonus power when I did her ME1 playthrough (due to it being the only bonus skill I had unlocked at the time), so I came up with a reason for her to have that. That reason being that she was exposed to eezo when exploring an old abadoned factory as a child, from which she developed very weak biotic powers. She then got stasis as a bonus power in ME2 with the idea being that Cerberus had increased her biotic power during the Lazarus Project.

A ton. If Lili wasn't a vanguard, I don't imagine she'd be the same. Plus, charging all those idiots who stand in her way and delivering a shotgun blast to the face, she loves it. And how do you think she killed slavers during the raid? Either shotgun blasts of biotic katanas (she has her tricks)

She's never really liked stealth or tech, she's always relied on her biotics  if she lacks guns or other weapons and she's just that brute force fighter. She let's Kasumi handle stealth and Garrus handle sniping, she just charges to the center of a battle while her squaddies do their thing. So her class fits her, and is quite the part of her character.

I don't actually think about that at all. I'll just see how things go. I tend to take enemies from cover, no matter what class.

With my canon Shepard, Kate, the class (vanguard) and how I played her in game (insanely crazy) were the very starting point for me in figuring out who she was and then I built the rest of the character around that.  (I played her first in ME2 and charge is my favorite all time class skill).

She doesn't look all that crazy but appearances can be deceiving.

^ I think femshep has to be slightly crazy.

If she wasn't to start, she became so. You'd either have to accept the madness that is the rollercoaster of her life, else go insane from trying to fight it.

I went to the Eurogamer Expo in London today and they had the same demo that they showed at E3. Got to try out the Soldier and Sentinel classes. No FemShep available unfortunately so I had to play using DefaultShep. Still it was nice to see how the gameplay has changed and to see how the new skill upgrade system works. I also got an N7 T-Shirt and one of those inflatable omni-blades that were given out at comic-con, for free. Which was nice. :)

I try to work the class into the game and my “head canon” especially. UJ is a vanguard and she too, in a certain manner of speaking, is crazy. Though a vanguard, she is logical, tactical, even serene and incredibly patient. She’s the only Shepard I have who actually likes the hacking and security bypass modules. Anything to keep her mind sharp. As a young girl and teen she was a wild child, impulsive, mischievous and tactical, playing elaborate pranks on the other colonists on Mindoir. Had the raid not happened it’s doubtful she would have ever gone into the military. But it did and it created a chaotic time bomb waiting to happen. Eventually, she dealt w/ her demons and took on a kind of Jekyll and Hyde persona. Outside of combat she is warm, friendly, a great listener and genuinely believes she can help people. On the battlefield, she is weapon of mass destruction, cold, brutal and unforgiving. Basically, being a vanguard allows her to vent and that’s why she’s so cheerful most of the time.
