Personally, if I could share my femshep code, I would. Is there a way to produce a code from a me1 save? Anyway, if anyone wanted to use my face code, I would feel absolutely flattered. Heck, I'd invite them to change it if they wanted to tweak it to their liking.

I don't get the mentality of wanting to keep a femshep "unique." They're all femsheps. Someone wanting to use the code because they like the face is a form of flattery.

Then, because you're friends, you can make jokes about how they're cousins or how your Shepard is getting laid because he's straight and theirs isn't because he's the only gay in space. Then you could laugh and entertain each other with your mutually linked Shepard stories.

I guess this thread just isn't as universally inclusive as it claims to be whenever anyone criticizes something.

It is flattery ofc but well, for my Raine, I spent 3 days making her in the CC. She's one of my 'own' and the one out of the three I've actively played that I haven't openly shared. I have, however with some friends.
She has a backstory and I plan artwork around her, she's her own person and I've also not yet finished my playthrough with her. This for me, with her is the reason not to post her facecode up yet.

On the flipside, I have posted up the codes for my first and second Shepard.
My Jane who I first shared, I still have a weakspot for.

I know from talking to others that reasons for not sharing often lie in the creative field with them writing fic centered around their character, making art. So they are less likely to share because they are part of an extensive creative process. It becomes so much more.

You however, don't come off as the kind of person I'd like to socialise with, which doesn't motivate sharing.
Maybe you should consider how you come across before you bullrush all over people's feelings, which they have every right to have, btw.

So just on the off chance that someone duplicated your femshep (it's happened), would you be somehow offended because your femshep was no longer unique?

Or you don't have to. I know it sounds petty to withhold a code that you might have spent hours, even days refining, but if you don't want your unique face to become mass replicated, than you not only have the right to say no, but the justification as well. Once the code given away, its fate is uncontrolled. The one person you shared it with coud share it with dozens of people. Related be damned, when dozens of people are posting the same Shep that you started, you can either feel pride, or sadness.

Don't start, dude. Your feeing of entitlement shouldn't lead you to insult this thread. CC code = someone's...well...property. If they ain't willing to share it, man up and deal. Otherwise, go away.

Ah, you misunderstand.  I'm here and with this attitude because there are those who prefer I do their bullrushing for them sometimes.  But please, it's only been a few posts, I would have thought it'd take longer for things to devolve into the "but you" game.

That I'm a jerk too isn't particularly relevant.

I'll answer this...

If someone stole my code, yes.

If someone received my code with my permission, then mass distributed it without my permission, then I can't complain as that's the risk I ran when I first gave it away.

If someone replicated from memory because they really like it, then no. I might even be flattered.

Nah not at all, I am fully aware that whatever I might make in the CC is something someone else by chance or with effort can re-create, which is exactly why on average I have no problem posting up any codes. (tbh if someone would contact me regarding any of the ones i haven't because they really want to use it i'd prolly share it anyways).

That doesn't mean I don't understand why others wouldn't want to share some of theirs though.

I guess I don't really see why people guard their facecodes so closely.  I do understand the feeling of ownership and wanting to have exclusive rights to something you've worked hard on, but the ME character creator is so limited that most FemSheps end up looking like cousins regardless.  I guess I'm just stuck thinking in terms of efficiency, lol.  If someone really wants to recreate a Shepard, they'll be able to pretty easily thanks to the limited CC, so if someone ever asks me for a facecode I just decide to save them the time and give it to them.   I think every single one of my FemSheps has a near-twin on this thread.

RinjiRenee was just who I shared my code with, not to whom I was referring that pointed out this nonsense to me.

I'm not sure if the technical accuracy of my metaphor is particularly relevant.  Unless you're implying that my ignorance of bus rules undermines my argument that people should share facecodes with people who ask nicely.

I can understand viewing one's creation as a unique work of art or as an avatar of oneself, so I get why some people don't want to share. Who wants to see a multiple copies of their Mona Lisa running around? And maybe they don't want the amount of time and effort put into their creation to be diminished. That being said, I would certainly take it as a compliment if asked for my Shep's faceode.

What undermines your argument is that people don't HAVE to do anything. This is a choice. Whether not giving out facecodes is a choice you don't support matters f-all. It's still their choice.
If you'd like to, however, continue this pointless discussion, go right ahead. You must be really bored.
Go right ahead headbutting everyone that doesn't share your opinion, it's bound to give you a headache at some point.

2) Demand for it.
3) Take it.

There are tons of metaphor you can choose from but you definitely chose the worst one, I facepalm and shake my head as you have no common sense on respecting the one in need, in this case, the pregrant woman.

And you are talking about sharing face code mean you are selfishness? oh also what does the invitation to the clubhouse mean? You are thinking too far away and it simply cover your sense of respect.

If anyone could recreate my femshep and willing to spend all those time on it, be my guest by all mean. Couldn't you just understand a few single words?
