LOL! I can't believe Chris kicked you guys in the face like that.

Quite frankly, he made it pretty clear that he was asking for ideas about some sort of bonus/special item to be included WITHIN the game, not how it should look or anything.

Sorry; just sayin'. I still love you all. ;)

I know.  I just got so excited since no one had posted yet and decided to ask for the FemShep cover.  I later asked for a FemShep poster though which would count as a bonus item.  :innocent:

Nah, don't worry. I happen to agree with you, Firey. He requested suggestions for special, unique items included in the Collector's Edition, and not the appearance of the packaging. I was expecting him to say something like that.

The idea of a Lady Hawke for Dragon Age 2 seems to have become something of a meme among fans, and it does look like BioWare is going to release a trailer featuring her in the near future.

Maybe if we do something similar after the official announcement of ME3, they'll actually pay attention to FemShep. But not right now.

You're right.  It's too early to start demanding a trailer but we have some extra time for planning.

Wow...they've done a lot with the Lady Hawke campaign. I agree we should continue on even after ME3 is announced officially. I think this FemShep campaign has been quite successful (based on posting and participation) in spite of it being a lull time here on the ME boards. It should be even more active once ME3 is announced.

Campaigning and advocating the use of FemShep in marketing and promotional material? I will definitely participate!

They're already welcoming all the Lady Hawke support with open arms (try going through the developer posts in the thread). I wouldn't be suprised if they made a trailer for her at some point. This is more or less proof that BioWare does in fact value the female PC audience. It's just a matter of time until it's our turn to start a FemShep campaign. No one is going to say no.

I can honestly say I've never felt particularly underappreciated as a female gamer by Bioware, except in the case of being forced to romance Anomen or noone in BG2, of course... *evil grin*

We made up when Garrus, Kaidan, and Zaeed came along, and Alistair and Zev were the icing on the virtual cake. Obviously I can't romance Zaeed yet, but I can romance Garrus over and over again. ;) Seriously, though, allowing us to have an equally powerful female protagonist that could stand toe to toe with the males in their games has made me keep peeling off the greenbacks year after year. I wear my Mass Effect shirts with pride.

Just finished Feros with Kat. She seemed to take a sick pleasure in wiping out the Feros colonists. Maybe it was because she got the assault rifle acheivement when she finished....yeah maybe that's it!

So, I didn't see the kick in the face as I'm too lazy to go look, but honestly.... it's a lost cause to ask for a FemShep cover. It's NOT gonna happen. They've already established the fact that Sheploo is their poster boy... he WILL be on the ME3 cover, no stopping it.

Personally, I don't like the look of jane shepard so .... and don't kill me .... I wouldn't want her on the cover myself. I liked the backside of the ME2 CE with the collector on it. I'd prefer something like that for ME3... like Reapers or something.

However, if they were to put FemShep on it... they seriously need to work on jane's face...

Just found this thread. Femsheps for the win!

Most of my playthroughs are with Femsheps, heck my first ME1 playthrough was with one. And my 'main' character is one Kiara Shepard, ****slapping mercs to an early grave and then giving crying children a hug before blowing something up (Otherwise known as a Paragade). I actually suprised myself with the paragon/renegage meters when I looked at them before the suicide mission - Had full Paragon and just over half full Renegade. Didn't know I could get so high with Renegade. But it merely shows how much of a caring badass she is

Didn't romance anyone through either games (although one of my other femsheps romanced Liara and stayed faithful and the Adept femshep is most likely going to be falling for Thane) so let's ME3 gives her someone to love... or more crap to blow up. Or maybe a proper chance to romance Samara. Stupid code meaning nothing can happen... :(

I'm highly tempted to go back and start of run-through with her again...

Sheploo is good looking, and for that sake he's okay. But yeah, my canon Shep is female, and Shepard will always be female in my mind. I think it would be cool to have one side of the box be Sheploo and the other side have femShep.

I wasn't asking for them to replace Sheploo on the cover with Jane.  I asked for the Jane Shepard version to be released simultaneously with the Sheploo one as a special edition.

I would like to see the same sort of equality on this issue too.
They're releasing a John Shepard figurine...what about Jane?  Maybe not, as I don't like her face that much.
I would pay to have a FemShep figurine that looked like my characters.  :)
I've tried playing MSheps, and although they're cool, I've only completely finished my FemShep playthroughs (two on ME1, two on ME2, and heading for a 3rd ME1 playthrough).

Ok, that'd be cool for those of us who would like FemShep on the cover. But like I said...default FemShep is nowhere near as polished as Sheploo (skin texture wise) and her face is just.... blech ... imo. They really should have put more time into Jane Shepard. Of course, that would have cost them another face model, which means extra money... cheap bastards. I'd like a FemShep cover, but I just don't like the look of Jane. =/

I'm fine with Jane. I don't think it's a bad FemShep, though of course not as detailed as the default male model Shepard.

I'd be happy with any FemShep on the cover, honestly.

Agreed wholeheartedly! The real savior of the Citidel is a woman. ^_^

This is probably gonna seem like a stupid question (and I'm sure by the end of this I'll realise it is), but why would it have to be a special edition? Now, I know that Sheploo is their main guy, but couldn't they leave it up to the individual gamer to decide which cover they want to buy? I get that male gamers tend to be more prevalent (but also that not all males play males/females play females) but would a player automatically choose not to buy if they couldn't get the cover they wanted? Would new gamers come along, see a woman on the cover and choose not to buy for this reason? Maybe. Existing ME gamers know fine well they can play male or female, but would they be bothered which cover they got? Ok,  I'm aware I have just tripped myself up here since the whole crux of the argument is folks in here wanting FemShep on the cover, but it's more about having the choice, and preferably, equal treatment for the two Sheps.

I also know it's all about making money and marketing costs come into play, etc (but they could print fewer FemShep covers). Anyway, guess I'm just thinking out loud here, so rant over!! I just want FemShep on the cover, dammit

I also quite like Jane Shepard. I think she's actually quite underrated, too. I'd be more than happy to see her image used in marketing and promotional material for ME3.

Sadly, I think that new male players might look at the cover with a female shep and not buy it. It's the same idea as a female author using a pseudonym that's monogendered so that males won't assume the book is feminine because the author was a female. Female gamers are used to dealing with playing as mostly male protagonists. Males are not used to playing as females nessecarily though. The double standard basically.
