Well, they (Cerberus, or at the very least TIM and Miranda) did know that something spaced Shepard and destroyed the Normandy SR-1. And since they provided the Alliance with the blueprints, they must have guessed that it had to have been something more powerful than mere geth. As for the abductions, I think they started later, when the collectors couldn't get their hands on Shepard's body (thanks to the happenings in that comic about ActionGrrl T'Soni; yeah, sorry, I despise her very much).SaturnRing wrote...
when project lazarus started were there any indication that humans were being harvested or that collectors were even involved (they all found out about it when shepard herself went to investigate freedom progress ) ?I think TIM wanted Shepard to "come to the dark side," and their death played right into his hands. The abductions just added the motivation TIM would have lacked to convince Shepard.if not what was TIM initial motivation ?
No, not really. I think at that point they were just frustrated that the Alliance's, and certainly humanity's, best asset was being used for geth patrols. I think Miranda was supposed to approach Shepard and offer them a job with Cerberus, given the fact that their talent was being wasted. TIM may, or may not have put the collectors on Shepard's trail.does that exchange between him and miranda at the beginning of ME 2 answers that question ?
Edit: Cr*p, ToP... gimme some secs...
Edit2: There we go: Jane shortly after joining the Normandy SR-1...
i agree with most of the points you made.I see it differently when it comes to shepard joining the darker side. Not that she wouldn't do it.But there was just too much at stake for TIM to rely only on Shepard's good will . His intent was probably to leave that bread crumb trail you're talking about for shepard to follow and eventually make her way to the Omega 4 relay. All he had to do was carefully spread rumors that link the collectors to the O 4 relay and the reapers. Shepard would have come running. At no point it would have been necessary to let his presence known .The Normandy first encounter with the collectors was probably an attempt from TIM to put her on the collector trail .It just backfired. He didn't anticipate that she would die .But it didn't change his plans eiher ( except for a two years delay ) .When you look at ME2 events that's what shepard does : following the bread crumb trail. The only difference is that she is aware of TIM pulling the strings in the background.I'm just wondering how much involved he was into " helping " the collectors hit humans colonies so it can all lead to their base.
[Do you despise Liara as a character or just the way she is portrayed in the comic ?]
