See, we're on opposite sides of that fence. I agree that what you said coulda, shoulda, woulda, but I just find BioWare's treatment of her to have alienated the character for me rather than having firmly brought out those things you mention. In fact each and every playthrough I like her less, and that's a damn shame.SaturnRing wrote...
I love Liara's character , but i see what you mean . everything surrounding her, from the beginning of ME 1 to the end of ME 2 ,points to Liara being a very complex and multi layered person . Born pure blood;never knew her "father";rebeled against her mom;the revelation that her mom allied herself with the most dangerous alien in council space; the subsequent guilt ; the passing of that mom (possibly by her hand); all that reinforce the idea of a multi-facette Liara.Add to that the fact that she is obsessed with (and might be rejected by) the person directly responsible for her mom's death...and you have the foundation for one of the most complex character in ME.Let's not forget the enormous responsibility that comes with being the new shadow broker.none of this diminish in any way her genuine carring nature. But as a player i would be thrilled if more of that ambiguity was present in the game (i could walk to her not knowing if i was going to talk to the lover or the daughter full of resentment ). the events from the dark horse comic and those from TLOSBdlc tend to reinforce that idea of a multi-layered Liara .I expect that at some point in ME 3 she will somehow "vent" that frustration/resentment and reveal more of her complex nature.Kyrene wrote...

I could go on all day about the asari (and SB T'Soni in particular), but I think that small part of my signature speaks for me. @Red - unfortunately she's not ready yetI asked someone to rig her for me, because it will take ages before I learn how to do that. In the meantime I'm making textures on the model I made, she can emote a little bit, move her neck, eyes, eyebrows and eyelids to some degree. Of course I'm trying to fix her, but it's very difficult.
If my commission will be done like I'd want it to be, I'm looking forward to make maaany renders with her.
Yay specular maps *_*

It would be pointless and unfair to try to convince you... the narrative of the game does expose Liara's character to that kind of criticism(yours). It is pretty much up to the player to adopt her or not at that point .I chose to.Even though she is not a LI.Kyrene wrote...

I think that there is still a possibility of a build up that could result into Liara and shepard clashing; the coulda, shoulda, woulda hasn't just happened yet.It would add a little more difficulty into rallying the asari against the reapers. But in the end their love (LI or friend) is absolute even if Liara becomes Shepard's nemesis.

Implants, by what I understand, do not determined how powerful of a biotic you are. You either have the power or you don't. The weakest biotic in the world can have a L5 implant and still be weaker than a L2. The only problem with L2 implants is it is like a double edge sword. They are very powerful implants but can hurt or kill you to use them. Hints Kaidan's headaches. L3 implants which Shepard had in ME1 are safer, but are weaker than the L2s. However, even with a L3 implant Shepard spikes higher than Kaidan. What exactly L4/L5 do for Shepard is unexplained.

Even if the implants do not amplify a biotic's power, they would probably provide better control and focus the power better, so even a biotic of an inferior "level" could deal tremendous damage.
Well, maybe I should not have said anything, my stance towards Kaidan is well known already ^^

that is why i rarely play as a biotic; not enough on what it is like to be one of them; too many times even shepard mention them as if they stand apart from the rest of society; it is then difficult to view her as part of them.meonlyred wrote...
Not that I think Kaidan would actually fight Shepard, but it would be a sight to behold. I would paid damn good money to see who would win in that fight. Kaidan does say in ME1 that Biotic Shepard does spike higher than he does. However, Kaidan has control. It would be something like Miranda vs Jack.

Original Aki in ME2 (Feb 2010):

Canon Aki in ME2 (Nov 2011 after a year of tweaks, fiddles and learning how to use mods):

Pretty pleased with how all the tweaks have come together! I've justifed the shorter hair with the old woken-up-early device, I'm hoping there'll be a nice mid-length ponytail or suchlike which I can use as the ME3 'do.
Also looking forward to getting Aki and Kaidan back together - I just did Horizon today and...yeah. Still ouch.

I tend come down on the side that his anger is justified, I have to say.
"It's been a long time, Kaidan. How've you been?" - I mean, really?! Aki's mental commentary right after she comes out with that goes something like Oh no, did I really just...please let me go back five seconds and say something else...anything else...and now he's shouting...oh no ohnoohno...

I reckon the higher implants just work like better conduits for the energy.
Much like an extention of the brain, less 'misfires'.
Would mean you can reach a more potent peek level, still not above your personal limit.
