How did you get Kaidan in that shot. Every time I have ever played its always Garrus or Wrex in that spot...

Sneakily.  >_>

Can't remember which, but if you take him up the elevator with Ashley or just him alone, you get him there instead of [other squadmate].  And I think that's the only time he'll show up in that shot.  ^_^

People would treat those characters a lot differently if they'd actually RECORDED THE DIALOGUE for those things in the game!

Stupid emails, what a copout.

Anyway, Sbarge is a fantastic actor and I can totally get what all those femSheps see in Kaidan.

I couldn't agree more with what you've said, Sable!

Warning: If you see Commander Shepard do any of the faces above there're a 95% chance of death or horrible HORRIBLE pain. Most likely you did something bad or you might've been in her way when she was in need for some coffee

Discussion topic: In ME1 or ME2. What mission/side mission weight the most on Shepard's heart? Which one effected her the most?

Original Jane: BDtS and leaving Kaidan on Virmire. She would almost gleefully have done Arrival if I had that DLC (at least she did in my head-canon). BIG HOWEVER, though...
Jane 2, AKA Kassia, actually saved the three hostages during BDtS (I won't bore you guys with the details of why), and while starting off strong renegade, now has about 5/16 bars paragon and only 4/16 bars renegade (with only Feros complete and ready to save Liara). I don't know how she became so much nicer. She may also leave Ashley behind this time round. I think she's still the rutless spacer Jane 1 was, just was affected much more by Torfan and thus tries harder to preserve lives where she can. Despite personally sniping two of the Feros colonists (it takes a lot more to do that than have them die to friendly fire with an AR for instance). I dunno, she's not turning out quite as ruthless as her predecessor.

So my question then:
Do any of your Shepards start having a life of their own in this kind of sense, where they somehow just break away from what you thought they would turn out like? Do you love them more or less for it?

It definitely made me love her more. I intended to make Deirdre go through a  mostly paragon playthrough,...and then started and suddenly became acutely aware of all those negative emotions, bad memories...all that suffering, anger she was carrying inside; we are always aware of Shepard past, how she suffered; but we managed to keep everything in perspective and make the right choices. Not for that playthrough.I went all out renegade; not by design, just as I felt. I didn't hold back. I regret most of the decisions i made during that playthrough. But that's how I/Shepard felt at that time. I just have to "live" with it. I felt closer to her because of that: it opened a brief window into her mind. Despite her actions, i saw a woman who is suffering inside, who is torn by conflicting emotions and revenge. Deirdre isn't my canon but she is very dear to me; she is not a product of careful planning, she defies the laws of  r/p points chase. She just is.

Zody intended to be my uber white Paragon. Which she is...mostly. She isn't actually my first Shepard but after several playthroughs of ME1 I had an idea of what I wanted out of a Shepard. I knew I wanted her to be striking. I knew I wanted her to be a Kaidanmancer. I knew I wanted her to be a paragon. I knew I wanted to give her the most heartbreaking combo of her past I could. Colonist/solo survivor.

First couple playthroughs I did she was straight paragon. But then something happened, she started taking on a life of her own. There became reasons to why she sometimes would do renegade-ness or choice a neutral options over a paragon or renegade. She isn't a Captain Picard more like Obi-Wan. Good person who dips into sarcasm to make a joke or lighten the mood.

"Oh well, just another boring day saving the universe."

"Not to worry. We are still flying half a ship."

At first Sarah started out as the shining Paragon of hope and greatness but after a few playthroughs she started to leave this path and find her own. I really had no idea on how she would end up but i'm delighted with the result. I set her up with a dark beginning with Mindoir but one moment of heroism in Elysium, it gave me space to develop her but it was more Sarah that took control and went in her direction and i had trouble to keep up with her. She's so much darker and ruthless then i imagined and i love it. She's just the perfect Shepard for me. A person that don't take a break, that never stop working and it takes atleast a doctor and two marines to just make her consider a shore leave. A person with a dark past and a often a dark mind. I love her <3

I had initially rolled my Shepard with something of a no-nonsense stoic in mind.  She developed a sense of humor and turned trickster on me.  Surprised, but not complaining.

Kaidan: "Is she seriously trying to sell imported ice to the Hanshan Board of Directors?"
Ashley: "Yep."
Kaidan: "And succeeding?"
Ashley: "...yep."

Yes. Kallen's gone from a character I tried to make from an anime on in the ME CC to the female version of myself and the older sister of my Male shep (who is ironically a self insert) They've become a family and I've adjusted Guns and poems to show that. I know the actual GAME only allows one sheaprd, but I think they go together great.

They ARE the most faithful and trustworthy backup Shepard has available in ME2... to my mind, anyway.  Love this picture because it might as well be Jessica right there.  Minus the makeup of course.

Forgive me if I quote myself here. After my last post I stepped away from ME a bit (this weekend was filled with other stuff including the annual Toy Run with my son–Xavier for whom John Shepard is now named–riding as pillion on the Thruxton and carrying the toys on his back–very important job that else the needy kids don't get them) because running back to back campaigns with Xavier and Kassia (Shepards, not my kids) was getting tedious. So last night I picked up where I left Kassia and she saved little Miss Shadow Sue (was again forced by the game to undergo the mind reaming) and plotted a course for Noveria (briefly stopping by the Citadel for supplies; meta reason to refresh the HMW-selling vendors). She thus met Lt. Zabaleta, and with some tough love managed to convince him to go to the VAO.

While speaking to Hannah Shepard (and to a smaller extent to Ashley about her sisters), I was once again reminded of exactly why Kassia does the things she does. Her mother is military, and she's a military brat who yearns for the affection she never felt ("Not now I'm on duty" or "Oh, it's you"). I have a sneaky suspicion she sent those marines to die on Torfan so that others could feel her pain. Nasty and selfish if true, I know, and it backfired most spectacularly on an emotional level as she is now seen as a 'butcher' (even by her mother I suspect).

Because of all this, and the self-development she has shown (which I know is bullsh*t, it still comes from me driving the character as the player), I've decided that she'll be a Kaimancer at least in this game (will deal with Horizon when it presents itself). She didn't fall into his arms after the "cutting corners" conversation, but did tell him to broach the subject of 'a them' at some later stage. And she called him "Kaiden" instead of "Lieutenant," so that gives me hope she'll find some love before Ilos.

It's going to be hard leaving Ashley behind though, as I personally love her a ton more than Mr. "I'm so grounded I'm a bit of a wet blanket sometimes" Alenko, but at least the roles will be reversed for Xavier.
***
In other news, she killed her third maw on foot, even if she nearly froze to death on Xawin doing it. Kai and Ash were heard complaining about the cold, not the maw hunting, over mess dinner that night. They may 'speak freely' and demand no maw hunting again occurs in −131 °C outside the Mako. The fact that Kassia had to carry their 'corpses' to the Mako before they revived may give some merit to that argument.
