What I meant was her growth/moving away from the plan I as her creator/player had for her. Case in point: I played a little before work this morning (it was raining and I didn't feel like putting on my rain kit for the bike and riding in in the rain, despite the kit being 100% waterproof, so I waited the rain out and rode in dry–mostly). And Kassia (who incendently has the same face and should have been Jane 2.0) is now after completing Noveria 9/16 paragon and only 8/16 renegade, despite having only 6 points in "Convince," but 9 points in "Intimidate." Jane 1.0 ended ME2 with level 4 facial scars, having imported with the full 190 renegade points and some 150+ paragon points. Admittedly, that means she vacillated quite a bit in ME too, much like Kassia is now doing, but was at no stage ever a paragade, like she is now. It was renegon all the way from first punching that poor, disturbed scientist, Manuel.SaturnRing wrote...
The self development Shepard has shown... What do you mean by that? How has your Shepard develop over the course of ME 1? How did her background impacted that growth? ( I know it is a little bit of a stretch because you're in the middle of a playtrough and Shep might not turn out the way you expect )
So Kassia is therefore self developing, which is not to be confused with character development. She's throwing off the shackles, I as her creator put there for her. I chose her to be a Spacer, someone who's savvy enough to be wise to aliens and has more contact with them than say an Earthborn. I chose for her to thus have a mother, who may be aloof or all business/military leading to her becoming Ruthless on Torfan. She however seems to be fighting me (or shall I say, I'm fighting myself through this character, since her 'self development' is actually an extention of myself anyway) and not giving in to the dark side as much as I would have liked her to before she gets spaced and Cerberected.
And I'm fine with that. I was always sad that Jane 1.0 was "forever alone" and I'm glad therefore that Kassia seems to be heading firmly for a night before Ilos, depending on how things shake out on Virmire. I'm hoping she sends Ashley with Kirahee, and Kaidan to guard the nuke, because whoever guards the nuke survives. Period. I'm hoping she doesn't consider rank as all my Shepards always do when asked for a volunteer. Because that always means Kaidan dies. The nuke is that important, not who is guarding it. They get a free ticket off world because they're guarding it and not some stupid AA tower. I'm hoping she sends Ashley because Ash has consitently been kicking arse with her AR/shotgun. I'm hoping I as a fan of Ash don't influence that decision.
At least she won't have to shoot Wrex down like a dog, like Jane 1.0 had to. I don't much care for Urdnot Wreav. She found Wrex's armour quite by chance this morning.
And I'm rambling, forgive me...

I like your reasoning for a Noveria ending, but this is where it gets flawed. If the last piece of the puzzle was the Mu Relay, then Shepard won't be hunting Rachni when s/he's recalled. They would be on their way to Ilos already, only turning back because, well, orders is orders. Being betrayed and in lock-down wasn't part of the plan.Interactive Civilian wrote...
** I admit that between leaving the Citadel and going to Ilos, I also do the Rachni side missions. In the game, this happens to Artemis after leaving the Citadel, but in my head canon, she does this between Noveria and being recalled to the Citadel.
A Virmire ending makes a little more sense "UNC assignement"-wise, with the exception of getting Tali's geth data (if you weren't able to hack the geth terminal on Feros), although that can be RP'ed as happening after the finale and sometime before being spaced by the Collectors. After Virmire, you don't have to do anymore "UNC assignements" except for the paragon/renegade one on the way to Ilos (and that can be turned down). Virmire is one of the remotest systems, so even a lets clear the known galaxy bit-by-bit player can do it last.
Yeah I know, my arguments are possibly also flimsy. Just saying, is all...

Therum - Feros - Virmire - Noveria
The reason why it ended up like this is that i love how Shepard know it's the Reapers that are the really dangerous bad guys but she know no way to get to Ilos. They know they need the Mu relay but it's lost, it brings a feeling of it's hopeless. Looking through the entire galaxy for a relay won't work and finding someone that know where it is are unlikely. I just really like that feeling.
The Rachni assignments is in a bad place in the game if you follow this order but i do as Interactive Civilian and in my head canon make my Shepard do them before she get called back to the Citadel.
What happens after this is history ^^

Oh right.. there were some fighting and some big bad Reaper in this story aswell right?

To prevent that I always only ask about "Benezia" (and possibly "Asari Culture") after Therum, then about "Personal Info" after Noveria. She then flirts after Virmire and it just smacks even more of her not being used to humans. It's also more insensitive if the LI was DoV, and Shepard can then either use that to 'romance block' her or go for it in a 'on the rebound' kind of way.SaturnRing wrote...
The timing in Liara hitting on you right after her mom died can go either way ( She felt very vulnerable emotionaly and was trying to fill a void left by Benezia - them not being close doesn't mean that void didn't need to be filled).

I've mention earlier that tendency from Alenko to make assumptions to simplify things. The same can be said about Williams at least for Horizon. I get so pissed everytime i revisit it. So easy for VS to quickly assume that you're beyond saving because of your whereabouts instead of openning up on why it is so painful for him/her to resume that love/friend relationship. Maybe guilt because he/her was so eager to move on after you got spaced!? VS barely gives you an oportunity to explain yourself and conveniently turn that exchange into good vs evil thus avoiding to explain how she/he feels about you after two years ( picking the renegade option allow you to do the same ). There's clearly resentment against you too for showing up unannounced after two years. But why? It's not like you chose to. You played your cards on the table even if you working with cerberus. VS didn't and will have a lot of explaining to do. And then sneaking up behind your back and becoming a spectre. classified or not shouldn't you know about it or at least get a hint! You opened up to him/her pretty good while chasing Saren. I just can't believe that VS is now playing the need to know basis game. In my case, Ash is "guaranteed" to get an ear#$* from Katherine. Sorry I got a little worked up hereKyrene wrote...
Regarding the VS and Horizon, I've only recently realized exactly why Shepard is such a retard during that conversation. The VS lost Shepard two whole years ago, but for Shepard's it's been a couple of weeks at most. No wonder s/he's so confused and buddy-buddy and/or F-this-S when confronted. How could the VS distrust him/her when s/he's been working with Cerberus for such a short time. It's only been like yesterday when they all took down Saren and Sovereign together.
I'm for the first time excited to play Horizon when Kassia and Xavier land in ME2 this time round.
The whole Horizon thing is to me a way to mask the guilt for giving up on Shepard and not being the one recovering her body from SB (assuming VS knew about it). There were such a desire from Ash to gain recognition from the Alliance or Kaiden to be seen as more than a biotic that VS basically chose carrier over the certainty that Shepard was dead.

Shepard [rehearsing; clears throat]: We shall not flag nor fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in Citadel space and on the planets and moons; we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the Mako. We shall defend our galaxy whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on beaches of Virmire, landing grounds of Feros, in fields of snow on Noveria, in wards and on the hills of Therum. We shall never surrender...100k wrote...
What's a unique speech or dialogue that your Shepard had (not from the official script)?
Alenko: Already been done, ma'am.
Shepard: ?
Alenko: Churchill, ma'am.
Shepard: How 'bout, "I have a dream..."
Williams: You really wanna go there, Skipper?
Shepard: [censored]! Get out, both of you!
...later...
Shepard: Okay, how 'bout "Yippee ki-yay, mother..."
Wrex: I like it, Shepard, but you're not quoting my favourite bad*ss in my favourite Earth vid. I'd kill you first.
Shepard: [censored]! Get out, both of you!
Garrus [pained expression]: ?
...much later...
Shepard: [censored]! Get out, all of you!
Joker: We're in space, Commander.
Shepard: I got nothing...

Shep: Jackie Brown?Pulp Fiction!...
Jack: I watch it when I feel down...not the whole movie, just the part when the guy with the afro delivers his sermon before he , you know...
Shep: Surprising from someone who writes poetry.
Jack [whispering angrily]: Keep it down man! You don't want Miranda getting any ideas. She already thinks i'm the one stealing from her coffee machine.
Shep: I get it! Found it odd that she would break her own coffee machine.
Jack: See what I have to deal with on a regular basis!

There is validity to completing Virmire before Noveria except that the council members casual tone when mentioning Virmire the first time lacks urgency. But it is tempting to drop evrything and investigate it immidiately.SaturnRing wrote...
I'm obsessed with keeping that order - Feros - Therum - Noveria - Virmire - Ilos. I rarely allow myself to stray away from it. Timing is just one part of the story. The reason why i do it is the fact that not enough acknowledgement is given about the death of your teammate after Virmire. Except from Joker, the surviving STG operators or the other surviving squad mate. Playing Virmire last gives an atmosphere of commotion that "drown" that state of mourning. Ramping things up for Ilos barely gives you or anybody else time do reflect on it. I'd totally agree with all of you if it wasn't for that painful episode. The timing in Liara hitting on you right after her mom died can go either way ( She felt very vulnerable emotionaly and was trying to fill a void left by Benezia - them not being close doesn't mean that void didn't need to be filled). I usually have all side missions completed by the time I hit Virmire.

I about died from how adorable and sweet that is, AD, that's so cute!
Also, I'm not dead, I'm just in school. However I'm kinda shocked I'm alive and Lili, Katie, Alice, Amika or Feralia haven't come to kill me for lack of....everything (ME, DA, Fallout, Elder Scrolls characters) so, um...yeah. But I'm gonna go catch up on all the things I missed on this thread do to lack free time. Heh...and I'm babbling. Ignore me, I'll just pretend to be dead again I guess....

No, you make good points about the sidequests. The more I think about it, the more I like my final thought in that previous post: that she actually does them *after* taking down Saren and Sovereign and saving the Citadel. Since the game doesn't offer that option, I just do them when they become available, and pretend that they are actually happening in the future.Kyrene wrote...
Yeah I know, my arguments are possibly also flimsy. Just saying, is all...
In truth, though, a lot of the side missions really don't make any sense to do considering the urgency of the main mission. It would have been better if the main mission had come up in dribs and drabs, being revealed more and more as you explore more, and the side missions actually had connections that lead up to the main mission or provided clues and hints as to what you should be doing. I think this would have been better and would have caused the side missions and exploration to make more sense than how they just gave you the 3 main places to go right from the start, revealing the 4th place as soon as you complete any 2...
So, yeah... I don't have a definite grasp on when Artemis actually did the Rachni missions (and a lot of other missions that came up) for her canon story, but its important (to me and to her story) that those missions were completed.

Zody: “Miranda was wrong. They didn't bring me back. I'm in Hell serving the Devil.”

They died and I miss them very much but the only thing I can do for them is make the galaxy a safer place. I have the power now to make a difference, to keep another little girl from losing her family the way I lost mine.
