The Thane & Garrus combo is just pure mayhem. I'm a very competetive person so it is with that combo i really got to stop slacking and actually fight for my kills. They're just that good and just when you're about to get your headshot Thane already killed the merc >.<

Dream teams?

Kind of a tough call for ME1 especially, because I really like to rotate the team depending on the mission. However, I did notice one near constant for the main missions. Let's see if you can spot it. Kaidan and Wrex on Therum, Tali OR Garrus and Wrex on Feros, Garrus and Wrex on Virmire, Liara and Wrex on Noveria, and Liara and Garrus for the endgame**.

Which is why "Shepard! My friend!" is one of the best moments in ME2.

The ME2 dream team also kind of varies, but I've found that many times Zaeed makes a suitable substitute in Wrex's absense with his comments and badassery. Kasumi gets her more than her fair share of missions as well, as she and Artemis really hit it off. I'd say that it's mainly Garrus who is constant on almost all missions, though, because if their long lasting trust. Artemis trusts Tali as well, but she's better in the engine room than she is in combat, so she only really comes along on missions where she'd be a specialist (tech. stuff, some Geth missions, the Quarian mission, etc). In the end game, for several side-quests and the Overlord DLC, Legion gets a good number of missions though, because he's so fascinating.

So... tl;dr, though there are a few constants or near constants in Artemis's team choices, she doesn't really have a "dream team".

** regarding Garrus and Liara for the endgame, after everything we've been through, I think Garrus deserves this moment. Liara goes because she's the Prothean expert and Artemis's lover.

You make a very interesting point about Tali; like you i rarely take her out on a mission because her real area of expertise falls outside of the battlefield. I have the same policy regarding Mordin. I virtually never take him out (except for his LM ).
it is the same for Miranda until i complete her LM. Then i start using her a lot.


Same choice of armor for Liara and Garrus in ME.

Zaeed also gets out quite a bit because he can pack squad disruptor ammo and doesn't have much of an agenda besides blowing s**t up. Grunt & Jack are a fun combination for missions with lots of husks - Grunt sticks 'em up and Jack & Aki bowl. Miranda & Garrus are usually my picks for the baby Terminator.

Your comment was helpful ( all the comments from this thread are ) in the sense that it just reinforces my feeling that there are just to many teammates available for my canon to build a team around in both ME and ME 2. In retrospect, it would be to hard ( impossible ) to point to those i like to keep around, because i've grown attached to all of them. But if i had the choice in the very beginning, i would have settled for a much smaller squad, and try to make the core of that team as strong as possible. This leads to the next question* i have for all of you: what do you favor most, more teammates - larger variety - or smaller team with the possibility to build stronger ties with the people around you? (i'm aware that a larger pool doesn't prevent from developing strong bonds )   








*i know you might have discussed this already - C. Hudson touches on that subject for the incoming ME 3.

Kallen is the first who happens to have the same dream team as Katherine, that i'm aware of ( at least for ME 3; Katherine views them-Miranda/Ashley-also as potential LI.)

In ME1 Jane's Dream team was Kaidan and Garrus. I used them most of the time. A biotic, a sniper and a soldier. Also Kaidan is... I mean WAS my Shep's love, and Garrus is a good friend.


In ME2 there is almost the same story, only Jacob replaced Kaidan in all the ways (as a LI and as a team member). And Garrus is my Shep's big brother.

need to explain this a bit I think: Cait is in reality my Nord from Skyrim, but using a Headmorph from masseffect2faces.
At first this morph was used for Talia, but since Talia became Raine's twin, and it would have looked akward two have two almost identical Shepards in there, I needed to get creative
