True, but thermal camouflage, or ECM will not render you invisible, and while visual scans in space may be unfeasible, in regard to the stealth systems on the Normandy, on the Battlefield that is a completely different matter, line of sight in many situations is your best bet for a certain killshot.
Most modern tanks for instance still rely heavily on L.O.S. for direct engagements against other verhicles (Or soldiers vs. other soldiers).

And with shiny armor like that, you practically become a reflector for any and all lightsources, which in turn makes you very much visible, even through a sniper scope.
You may as well paint yourself neon-orange then, or paint a bullseye on your helmet/forehead

EDIT: When you think about that, it becomes clear why you start with a dark gray kevlar/carbon composite armor in the first & second game.

ignore this.check below; one key on my board is acting up

i was actually trying to make a point in your favor; my comment was more like a critic adressed to the game. If it was up to me Shepard would complete certain missions dressed in a gilly suit. To be fair to the game also, i can understand their position when you take into account the fact that not everyone on Shep squad is a career soldier.

okay, then I misunderstood, my apologies :)

It's funny when I think about it:
I would never be a career soldier, as I just can't take orders that are yelled at me xD
Maybe I spent too much time watching movies & documentaries about the second world war and all the other wars that came and went and reading too much about military code & procedures, or weapons & tactics... take your pick ;)

Pink glass planets. And Dark blue ones. Crystal formations. Maybe light bends around our awesome shiny armour when you push awesome-button because it's made from special sh*t that does awesome like that. Maybe it's designed to cause mayhem for certain species because their eyes don't percieve things like we do.

Also, bling is intimidating, the more bling the better.
"We shall come at you with shining force.. that is shiny!"

I could think up a few more =P It is sci-fi after all.

No apologies needed! I enjoy a good exchange/debate anyway!
As for career soldier, you never really know until you try, right! The orders being yelled are just a tiny small part of it. Look at Shepard: she seems to be enjoying the whole experience, despite being on the verge of total annihilation by the reapers...i guess
But Ottemis got a point. Where is the fun if we can't wear pink armor!

Go ahead

*hugs Ottemis*

EDIT: Actually, the one thing I do have in common with Command-Level Soldiers (according to some people) is an authoritarian Voice... appearantly I'm also good in giving commands, in the same way I don't want to receive commands.
Kind of weird

Well, yeah, I'm too lazy on backgrounds, because I simply suck at them. So creating poses/setting lights mostly.

After 3 years, I'm doing my first ever FemShep run. I know, shame on me. I bought the ME1 Comic DLC so I won't be doing a ME1 run.

Going to make her the opposite of my Dude Shep. Joshua Shepard is a bit of a boy scout who has a thing for women who reads poetry. My FemShep (Naomi Shepard) is going to be a Renagon Infiltrator.
