GRATS!

That's such a satisfying feeling. Seriously, when I first started ME1, I could scarcely finish a RPG like NWN on easy difficulty, I was just so not a gamer. Now I routinely play shooters and do quite nicely.

Thanks for that, Femshep.

I blame Ais.. though I'm happy for it! Using texmods now too for the highrez armor.. improved textures for squadmates and facial textures and all that jazz

What kind of improvement would you like to see for ME3, that would make it a better 3rd person shooter? - just broadly.

Insanity isn't actually that hard, save a few key battles. (Collector Ship, Horizon, Corner Vorcha)
But this is coming from somebody who was introduced to gaming through shooters, and has beaten quite a few on their hardest settings. Insanity is definitely the most fun I've had in the ME series though.

In my opinion insanity was not really that hard at all. I just got annoyed in pumping enemies full of rounds. Unnecessary and boring, it did not make it any rewarding or fun. So I just use the default difficulty level.

I'm not a good shooter gamer; however, insanity isn't as hard as you expected, if you try insanity/hardcore level in DA2, it will be very obvious to see what does 'insanity' means XD

Feros and Noveria is done.......Virmire is up next......

I found insanity tricky as an adept, because a number of the key skills (singularity, esp.) don't actually work properly until you get them to level 4. Early battles (namely, fighting to the control shutters in the Archangel recruitment if you left someone with Garrus and kept running into charging varren and krogan and you don't have any decent guns yet) can be a bit dicey. By the time you get a ways in though, it's gets easier and then, like you said, it's not so bad. By the end, I sort of forgot what difficulty i was on.

And after that, Engineer on Veteran is a cakewalk.

Hmmm...

I don't know what the *improvement* would look like, but I know the issue that annoyed me most: biotic skills are hard to get the targeting right. It's possible to make Warp and Singularity round cover, but it's also just as easy for them to lock onto a target and then go into a wall. Also, Singularity can look like it landed on someone, but it's actually half-a-click in front of them. I wished the targeting was more true-to-life (true-to-game?) because while you can work around it, it can be confusing at first and it turns a lot of people off to the Adept class.

I'm not apt in the shooter-department either, Sage's tale much reflects my own.
My boyfriend seemed to have a major issue with the off-the-shoulder aiming, in light of improvements. While I don't much mind it myself, him playing is relevant to my interests, so if he says that can use improving I'm all for it =P

And yeah, agreed on the biotics + aiming part Sage. Behavior just doesn't seem consistent.

@ Ottemis too: good that we voice certain of our concerns cause the dev are actually paying attention. They made some comments on some forums on sunday. Miss them by a hair. Don't know how much can be implemented that late in the process, but at least our suggestions are out there.

Insanity is definitely a lot easier on soldiers and infiltrator, with their 'you can't hit me now' skills and one shot kills even with armor, shield, barriers. Like Sage said with adding armor to enemies like husks in hardcore and insanity is a pain for adepts who lack skills that strip defenses. And Garrus mission for being as early in the game as it is, is punch-your-monitor hard on almost any difficulty. Stupid freaking shutters and corner pyro vorcha... the bane of my existence. There is a lot of 'oh god oh god I don't want to die' when it comes to enemies that swarm.

ME1 insanity is a walk through the park, especially when you are doing a replay through at level 60 and already have max armor and spectre weapons. Throw double Frictionless Materials on your guns and Medical Exoskeleton on armor. Add team biotic and you can skip your way through. Its only a problem when it takes bloody forever to kill something. I can't tell you how many times I shot a merc/geth with the mako's missiles then have to chase it as it goes sliding across the landscape to find it again and shoot it and repeat. I guess I could get out of the Mako and shot it but the mako is so warm and comfy.

Insanity is ridicously easy no matter what class i really play. All classes got their weaknesses and certain missions might be a tiny pain in the ass. What class is easiest depends more on the player than anything else. Since i've played the Infiltrator more than any other class i can for me say that it's the easiest class but a person that's played almost only the Vanguard might say that the Vanguard is the easiest class. I'm personally so horrible with the Vanguard that it's comedy to watch.

The most tricky class to play was probably the Adept until i learned how to deal with the never ending shields. I've not played the Sentinel yet, will be fun to play that.. when i've time for it ^^

ME1 insanity is time consuming and annoying, it's not really hard at all and if you do as Red say it's a cake (retardedly easy) ME1 is one of the few games where i don't play on the highest level just beause on how boring it actually is :/
