PAGE 200!!!

And thanks ryn. It's my own little way of a) adding personality to Shepard getting Femshep more 'out there' and c) allowing me to go through the introduction and other parts of ME2 without dying of boredom from watching it again...

I've got more and will be posting over at fanfic, but I have to wait 2 days as I've just set up an account...

I just hope that, given the relative mass market failure of ME2 (still hasn't beaten 2 or 3 million as far as I know) that BioWare are realizing that their lowest-common denominator Sheploo marketing hasn't really worked and that they realize there's more customers to be found in the demographics that don't just default to shiny looking action fests. I think the example above of a person deliberately skipping ME1 because they thought you couldn't play as a female is particularly telling of how BioWare's marketing for Mass Effect has managed to alienate the groups that used to rush out and buy their games.

It's counter productive, so hopefully ME3 will feature more femShep exposure and more substance over style.

They're running a bussiness. I guess they see more FemShep exposure as a heavy risk and they don't like risks.
Whatever they do, it won't be a 180º turn in their marketing strategy. Who knows, probably they think "Sheploo" looks didn't work that well because it wasn't shiny and flashy enough... Let's hope not.
They're missing opportunities, yes. And maybe they don't care much because those are seen as acceptable losses. Hell, I think they're ignoring the fact that many guys (like me) prefer roll up a femShep over a dudeShep any day.

Anyways, a while back, hanging around in DAO forums I stumbled across this post. I'm quoting from there

Oh and you know when I said I was a perfectionist. Well I checked how long it took to do my first playthrough on ME2 with Jane Shep.





Scary thing is thats not doing any DLC.  I still need to do Kasumi, Overlord ect...

Hey look at that 200 pages and an article on FemShep's awesomeness, reading the comments on the article just reminds me of trying to convince my friends that a female Shepard was really great in ME1. Once I wore a few people down enough to give it a shot a few actually came back saying they were angry about "wasting" a whole playthrough with a DudeShep Soldier. Also I noticed Danielle got in the big collage of Sheps how awesome! At the very least I should show off her latest redesign, LOTSB totally sucked me back into ME and finally got me to re-tweak Danielle.

EDIT for a little relevance: A friend of mine played through with a fairly default-looking ManShep for his first playthrough (borrowing my copy), and he enjoyed it well enough - he thinks of it as a playing piece more than a character - and then when it hit $20 he bought his own copy and tried FemShep at my insistence. Within ten minutes he'd sent me an IM containing simply "FemShep is just fantastic."

This seems to be similar to what mine will be. I haven't even spoken to Jacob during the Lazarus project yet and I'm on 2hours and a bit, due to me writing the ME story from my Shepard's perspective. I'm betting if I do all the story I might be at 100 hours
