I want to finish my MaleShep this weekend. I am not enjoying him much and will be glad to switch back to FemShep when he's done. Just entered Prometheus Station (Project Overlord). Finished all other stuff (including LotSB). After that I am picking up Legion and Sunday I might finish it. At least I will be able to say that I've finished the game with a MaleShep. Feels like work. Oh, wait! I used to enjoy work. Hehe. ;)

Indeed she is.  I voted in that so long ago.  I picked the 'Always play FemShep' option.

I must say you make a great example of how a forum member should be. You support everything, like everyone, etc.

Really, thanks for being so nice. I wish more of the people on here were like you.

I was just telling the Kaidan thread how attatched I have become to her, to te point where any other Sheps I try to play never get very far (i.e. the first mission).

I'm kind of the same way I've become so fond of Danielle that I can't really see any other as my Shepard, I made others back when I was playing the game on the 360 but since I moved to the PC for ME1 and ME2 Danielle and the various iterations of her have totally outshined everyone else. Now I just swap her class if I want to try something else but that tends to be the only real deviation from the "canon" playthrough.

So we don't post much here on the forums, but me and the Mrs decided to drop in a message of support to our Fem Shep Characters and the lady who for both of us as least makes this series of games truly special the fine actress Jennifer Hale, who, nails every scene and line fantastically. Her acting performances with Ali Hillis as Liara in the DLC LotSB also delivered on an emotional level very rarely seen in major games and movies. Now Bioware please promote one of the best things about your game Fem Shep/Jen Hale for ME3 so that the 80% of pleople playing male for Mass Effect 2 do not miss out Mass Effect 3 an dsubsequently some of the best voice acting by a lead in any vidogame from the last few years.

I still think those stats are a load of BS. We don't know what factors went into them and I've seen too many people on here that play mostly FemShep but have tried at least one MaleShep....myself included.

I made a MaleShep once (not mine) so I could take some screens for kraidy...I probably count in that 80%, even though I didn't finish one mission with him.

erm, these stats are a load of crap. any person who ever worked with statistics of any sorts can clearly see that, but since ME target audience now seems to be people who never worked with anyting more than schoolwork such PR tricks are very easy to perform. pffft

Indeed. They only claimed that 80% plays mShep - does not account for whether or not they finished the game, played femShep as well or how many characters they had. I mean I'm probably in those 80% simply because I imported my one mShep way back when I got the game, just to have him before I turned off the "feedback options" (because I honestly don't like the idea of sending data to EA or BioWare when they're unwilling to tell me *exactly* what that data is).

Rule #1 of any statistical analysis is that you must provide context and all variables if you expect them to be accurate. What BioWare and EA are doing here seems to me than nothing more than a weak attempt to justify their marketing tactics in light of an increasing shift among games journalists and bloggers towards femShep being the "true" Shepard for these people.

OH HALE YES! Posted Image I start girl-crushing the moment that woman is mentioned. I have alot to thank her for, if I hadn't of found KotOR on the market for £4 and decided I had heard Bastila (Posted Image woo) somewhere before, I may nver have picked up Mass Effect after a trawl on her IMDB page. Bioware and Hale basically got me back into gaming. Actually no wonder I'm so attatched to FemShep, she's part of the reason why I've rediscovered my number 1 hobby!

Well maybe they can turn their misleading information into a misleading graph for the next quarterly meeting!

The statistics aren't BS; they're simply incomplete and vague. Therefore, they are invalid.

As far as I can tell BW counted the number of people who created a male Shepard. That does not mean a thing. It does not tell us if they have finished the game with one. It also doesn't tell us how many created a FemShep.

The data we are after is: X% finished the game as a male Shepard. Y% finished the game as a female Shepard. Z% of the characters never ended up in a finished game.

Only BW can provide that data.
