...if the protagonist is voiced, it better be good voice acting or I will hate it.  There's no worries with FemShep, as Hale does an outstanding job voicing her!

Too true. I swoon for Hale. Love your avatar image, btw.

Yes, Hale is quite swoonworthy!  Thanks for the kind words.

I can't really say which I prefer when it comes to a strong silent type protagonist or a fully voiced protagonist. but Hale and Meer do great jobs immersing the player into the role of Commander Shepard. Ali hills helps because Liara and Shep just seem to read the others mind.

Oh there is so much chemistry between Hale and Hillis.  I honestly think Hale enjoys herself when voicing lines to go with Liara's.   "Okay, okay.  ......Okay"  Is simple on paper but when voiced by the two actresses, it becomes almost the iconic phrase for the pair.

  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I thought I would try and re-ignite the discussion over a "better" FemShep experience come Mass Effect 2 DLC's and Mass Effect 3.  I was filled with pride to see that FemShep finally sits proper-like in LotSB.  I hope that this has been implemented into their engine and will stay this way

I believe we still need to voice our concerns over her movement animations though.  She had her own in Mass Effect 1, why didn't they take the time to do this for her in ME2?  I doubt we will ever get an answer to that, but I hope that if we continue to try our best to be heard, that we will see her walk like she did in ME1.  I have to admit that I am nervous about how this will go.  I read in an article that they have already started working on ME3.  I know that even months before this thread was conceived, I saw many forum goers express their dislike of her "hunchback walk".  I'm only nervous because I hope it is not too late for us to take action.

Another issue that I would like to address again is that the fanbase deserves some screenshots of what FemShep will look like before Mass Effect 3.  Not only a few days before release, but preferably around the same time that Sheploo screens are released.  I am pretty darn sure that there will be Limited Edition armor in ME3, and I would like to see what it would look like before I decide where to put my money on a reserve.  This goes the same for if Bioware decides to release a few more DLC Shepard armor packs before ME3.  That really isn't asking too much, when the developers pretty much have the "key" to all this stuff.  If the fans have to take screenshots the day the the armor packs are released, something is wrong.

I believe these issues that I mentioned are the most vital to having a "better" FemShep experience in the future.  A video showing FemShep in action would be nice, advertisements, so would her own seperate ME3 cover, but I really feel the issues mentioned above are of the utmost importance.  I would like to hear from others what you think is vital to the best FemShep experience possible.  I really just wanted to get some discussion going again.  That was the major purpose of this thread, but I also enjoy gushing over Jen Hale's performances and looking at people's FemShep creations.  FemShep inspires so much amazing work.

I love the scars and your shading. She looks really tough - I like it. (Her right eye seems a bit higher and bigger than the left one, though.)

Noticed it. Thank you. Did this in an hour while drinking coffee, so mistakes were bound to happen. But I appriciate constructive criticism. Will surely be fixed.Posted Image

Yes, even now, I can hear them both saying that line in my head.

Yes, I do hope they fix this, as many people want it.  Though, it never bothered me personally too much for some reason...I guess I'm used to 'Hunchback-Shepard'  :P

This is my biggest concern...the armor.  Seriously, they can't show off one pic of what the FemShep version of the armor will look like?!?   I'm glad you brought it up again!

Yeah, these things are just icing on the cake, so to speak.  I don't think we will get a cover, but if they could do the same with FemShep as they are doing currently with Lady Hawke, I will be more than pleased.

I agree with every single word in your post, ryn. Great work! FemShep is indeed amazing! :D

I do happen to believe that, with the recent attention that LadyHawke is receiving in DA2's marketing, things are looking a little more optimistic with FemShep enjoying a more prominent role in ME3's marketing and promotional material. Obviously, she will not overshadow Sheploo in any way as BW want him to be the marketing face of the series, but it would be nice for her to receive some attention.

Might do so, if I'll have more time in the following days. For now one hour doodling is all I can do. And you saw how that turns out.
I'm surely going to draw more Fem Shep. She's just awesome to draw/ doodle/sketch.

Thanks for your kind words, J and Les. I also hope that this will be the case.  I am still a bit nervous since they are two different games/development teams.

We'll just have to start being more "militant" about it.  ;)

For the record, I never thought that was a bad term to describe us.  We need to be louder in our efforts.  I think the misconception about our fanbase is that we believe Sheploo should be abolished and replaced with Jane.  Realistically, that's never going to happen and it would be silly for that to occur.  I also see many forum goers say we complain too much, when FemShep is treated the exact same way as MaleShep.  She is not.  The points that I stressed in my post show otherwise.

No problem!  Yes, that is the concern....DA2 is a different type of game and different marketing team.  It won't hurt to ask for the same as they have, though.  :D

Yes, it's clear that she is not treated the same as MaleShep.  They won't even release screens of her in the new armor.

Indeed, no one here wants Sheploo abolished (I have actually gotten pretty good at being able to ignore him completely :P) but would just like small things featuring Jane, like pictures of armor, or a few general screen shots prior to ME3's release.

Default MaleShep is there for fun, marketing and internet memes. FemSheps are serious business.

No problem, ryn! I think that there is definite reason to be optimistic, though. I would have assumed that BW utilises the same marketing team across different franchises, and this indicates that they may be more willing to use Jane in marketing and promotional material in the future. At least, I hope so.

They may not be the same team (I doubt that) but perhaps they share ideas?  I don't really know how marketing works, tbh.

Two different teams with different project leads, Mass Effect's leader is of course Casey Hudson while Dragon Age is headed by Mike Laidlaw. They're aware of each others work but each team has a very different feel to them and I don't know how much they concern themselves with what the other guys are doing. Besides I believe EA largely runs BioWare's marketing department now . . .

Oh, I see.  Thanks for clarifying this.  So, do you expect 'business as usual' with ME3's marketing?  By this, I mean that it will be the same as ME2's marketing (i.e., absolutely 0% FemShep).
