The upper picture contains my favorite level of scarring.; do you know the value in the .ini off-hand? I think I want to fix it at that level. I think that's 3, but I'm not sure.

And more specifically to the point, yes, she looks excellent in that hair.

I don't know off hand, I can see if I can find it, though.

Ah, don't worry about it then, I'll experiment or learn it somewhere.

My canon FemShep (sorry for the ****ty quality. Had to take real pictures). Her name is Susannah, and she's an Infiltrator, and a Sole Survivor/Colonist. Her whole life is filled with darkness, and thus she's a shadow. The only light in her life is Liara, who she has been loyal to.

But underneath that armor, she's just woman who hates being a woman. She isn't beautiful, and is more of a tom boy. Most would consider her ugly. But she doesn't care, because she's a soldier.

The actual effect is a forced driver override using super-sampling anti-aliasing, I have a triple SLI set-up on my PC so I'm one of those people that can "brute-force" my way through that hair-style. I've got it jack up to 16xQ which solved all the jaggy problems, I also use the shaved head diffuse map to "patch" up the part in the hairstyle so you don't see the bald head underneath.

Pray-tell, what tool do you use to force AA on ME2? I've tried everything: RivaTuner, nHancer, etc; but I can never seem to find the right profile that actually works in-game.

Best way is to force it using the nVidia Forceware or ATI Catalyst control panel that comes with your video card drivers.  nHancer never worked for me either.

Yeah, it is.  I decided to give my femShep a hooked nose as a unique feature to balance out her eyes, which are the largest in the CC and purposely made to look gorgeous.  Though she is no raving beauty, she has an almost regal quality about her. This gives her the presence of someone people would gravitate toward, a quality necessary in a commanding leader.  There are a lot of femSheps out there that have that quality, Ryn’s and Sagequeen’s just to name a couple.  It's also nice to see so many out there that rival BW creations like Miranda and Kelly.

Anyway, here is my girl, UJ. With a three quarter view she is not bad, but the profile is a bit jarring.  Like I said, I like the uniqeness of it.

Wow. Missed these ones.  She looks great.
I too don't like perfect hollywood noses.  They lack character

I use nVidia Control Panel the driver override that comes with most nVidia cards, then you just select the proper binary which in Mass Effect 2's case is located in the Binary folder and is simply called MassEffect2.exe. Load that up and override the Anti-Aliasing mode so that it's handled by the control panel and not the application. Then it's just a matter of putting in the value and effects you want, in this case Super-Sampling is important because it takes the edges off transparent objects which ME2 has a ton of particularily some of the hair meshes.

I'm trying to convince my mom to play ME, and here's our conversation.

Me: "You can create your own character and romance people!"
Her: "....Can she be a ****?"
Me: "Yeah, I guess...."
Her: "....Can she be a lesbian?"
Me: "Yeah, with a blue alien chick..."
Her: "Really? Wow! They've thought of everything!"
Me: "The blue alien is for both genders, but there's a romancable man for females and a woman for males. For your character you can choose from a wide variety of skin tones, lips, noses, eyes, make-up. It's really fun!"
Her: "It sounds like Barbie."
Me: "I guess it is...."

And I realized she's right: creating my FemSheps is like playing Barbie for adults. Except it's a lot more fun.

It is SO Barbie. Barbie dress up +G.I. Joes parachuting off the roof + Legos (the modding part) - all my favorite toys as a kid, right there.

And re: the hubby and game romance, my hubby played ME2 to see why i was so addicted to the game. he liked it okay, played it once. but upon me remarking that liara and femshep have a lot of chemistry, now wants me to do a liara playthrough. sadly, i cannot play any femshep but my main now and she's only interested in kaidan. but then, i tend to distance myself from my shep and don't just think of her as myself - most of the time.

I have trouble playing other Shepards besides my main as well...I've made other ones and play them for a short time, but I usually go back to her.  And then, there are those that have 12 different Shepards.

Just make your hubby play FemShep/Liara if he wants to see it :P

I played a default Femshep once for ME2. After beating it, I deleted it, because I couldn't stand playing a character who's history I had no control over, and who made choices I didn't agree with. I just didn't want her to exist anymore. I've also tried to play default dude shep, but couldn't make it past the Normandy. I also delete playthroughs I'm not happy with if I didn't like where the character was going.

Yeah, I can't play a character until I've sat down and thought out their personal history, their personality and quirks, their motivations, hopes, fears, etc. If I don't, I lose interest quick. Playing ME1 helps to shape some of these things for your Shepard going into ME2, and the default ME2 Shep simply lacks these.

Oh that sucks.  I played a few hours of ME2 on an SD television and could barely read the words on the screen.  Oh and it wasn't until I got my HDtv that I realized my FemShep had a humongous forehead!  I couldn't tell when I played her on my SDtv.

Yeah, it bites. But I still get Hale's voice acting, so it's all good.

I added MassEffect2.exe (not the launcher) to the Forceware settings, to give it all AA possible (16x); but I can't tell much difference, to be honest:

Akodo's rather fantastic personal Shepard appears to have reached the CIC sans her top, though the screenshot is from the shoulders up only.
EDIT: Have I really been staring at that for this long without breaking it apart in my head? Wow. Anyway - is that 'Akodo' as in 'One-Eye'?

Haha, thou the lack of clothes is inspired by Ryn and ELE, the glitch I'm thinking about is her body was in different position than it should be in this scene (talk with Chakwas after the booze).

And yea, OneEye109 is a nn I use on y2b, taken from Appleseed's Deunan and her ESWAT codename. My own nickname seems to be too common and wherever I try to register there's 90% probability it's already taken. Sorry for the confusion, if it caused any.

I inspire...nude FemShep?  I'm okay with that actually.

Everyone's character creator tips are excellent, and I can't think of anything to add.  I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one obsessing over certain quirks of the face creation system--can't move dem lips too high or you get a weird bump :(
I've gotten to the point that I've messed with the creator so much I've found my fav configuration.  So I keep a 'base' code I work off of.

So, what's wrong with barbie Shep, folks? :P
I like my FemShep's to look unrealistically attractive.  See: Femme Fatale.  Case in point: Neve Shepard.

Ooo! I love Deunan Knute!! Wish we could make a Femshep like that! (Actually, I wouldn't mind making a Hitomi look-alike, either; although Deunan is definitely the one who kicks *ass).

So, what's wrong with barbie Shep, folks? I like my FemShep's to look unrealistically attractive.  See: Femme Fatale.  Case in point: Neve Shepard.

Ha! Finally someone who feels the same way. :) Although I'm not really into the 'barbie' type in general, I do like my Femshep to be as unrealistically pretty as possible. And what's wrong with that, when you have the choice? If you go to an art gallery, you also buy the best looking piece, right? I mean, you don't go home with a work that's just 'eh' (unless you can't afford the 'pretty' work; but here we can).

I geth (erm, get) all the arguments about realistic being extra enticing (probably, psychologically, because it's closer to what you could truly date in RL). But way I figure this, making a beautiful, neatly color-coordinated Femshep is like creating a work of art yourself.

I also do like the 'girl-next-door' types posted here (for reasons stated above); but when trying to create a new Femshep, I always envision an imaginary slider, going from 'fugly' to 'gorgeous'; and I never can seem to wilfully choose towards the former. :P

I agree wholeheartedly!  Pretty Princess Barbie FemSheps Unite!!!  :wizard:

I've had someone tell me that my main Shepard is too cute to be badass, but also had someone else hotlink one of my screenshots specifically to make fun of my character on another site (RUDE)...so ehh, whatever, I make my Shepards for my own enjoyment.  If I'm taking tons of screenshots, and she fires my imagination, I'm happy.  My main Shepard has a kind of "comic book heroine" look to her, in my opinion, that I like.  And then there are times when she looks like a local TV newsanchor, and that's okay too.    I love my FemShep.

Hmm. As far as I recall, there's at least one GeForce driver version where forcing AA simply didn't work - it's fine with the latest version though(they're not called "ForceWare" any more). Apart from that, did you set it to override any application setting?
