Man I love that face.  She looks so real.  It's actually tough not to make Shep fine-boned like a model; this one has a look that really sells the "Marine" part of her character.

Yeah, the number of choices for ME2's armour is a bit lackluster. And most non-default options tend not to look all that good. Plus most stats are outshined by the DLC stuff. e.g.:

(Why would they say it's no good without a helmet?)

Does anybody else think Shepard looks best in rooms with red lighting while threatening people?

I like only heavy ME1 armors. Lights and mediums looked weird with the helmet on.

Posted Image

But ME2 N7 basic still rox for me :)
Well, along with heavy Onyx.

Nice highres shot! :) What sort of (external) video enhancements did you force on this?

I've seen the male version of this available as a DA:O mod, but as far as I know, the female version has never been available publicly...*covets*  It's so nice looking.  Why couldn't the version that came with DA look like this, and why couldn't the ME2 version have been helmetless????   Worst "design decision" ever.

I've been messing around with a maleShep in ME1, and I realized another reason why I prefer my female character:  facial expressions, at least when it comes to the "Sheploo" male head.  My female Shepard's face seems much more expressive, while Sheploo's seems frozen and blank most of the time.  Just something I noticed, and maybe later in the game it gets better.  But in the early game, the "eyebrow furrowing" that I find so cute on FemShep seems to be missing from her male counterpart.  Has anyone else noticed this???

I totally agree, TZ. My mShep just looked wooden a lot of the time (although still really good since I modeled him somewhat after Kaidan). I thought that was odd that the male version wouldn't be animated as well as the female considering how hard they push the Sheploo version in all of the promotional stuff.

FemShep definitely is more cinematic

I haven't noticed missing eyebrow furrows, TZ.
I think ManShep looks just as expressive, it's his voice that sometimes gets to me, but then that's not necessarily Meer's fault.  I guess it just depends on vocal directions.  Don't mean to bash Meer (didn't realize he was the Biotic God, I love that guy), or ManShep for that matter.  ManShep has his benefit--notably, I can play as a good-looking male character.  My recent one is based off of Tony Kakko, from Sonata Arctica.

Back to FemShep.

Coalesced modded for higher res screenshots, plus my standard PS action (duplicate layer, opacity 30%, gaussian blur 3p, contrast adjustment). Plus some luck capturing good moment :)

Biotic God?
I thought that was Kaidan

My only complete ManShep playthrough is too long ago for me to remember it properly. Didn't even put a lot of effort in the creation except for making sure he looks ugly. The ME1 run was main missions only (didn't even bother saving manually) and after 5-10mins in ME2 I decided not to play as ManShep anymore, mostly because of the shared dialogue options which are in addition better done by Hale imo. And no proper beards...:crying:
Then again there was only one FemShep hairdo that hid the giraffe-neck in ME1.

I'd say the fact that it's easy to miss even in direct comparison shows that it can not have been Meer's fault I don't like his ManShep voicework at all.

well

i guess i'm a minority here

i seriously don't see how Hale is better than Meer overall

sure she's more expressive at times, but i found her too expressive on too many occasions, especially in ME2. and i'm not talking about Jacob-effect

Meer vs. Meer;)
Meer en nature

And some Hale action, lest I went too offtopic.

EDIT:
Just found THIS. :o

That is an awesome shot, Akodo. Any chance of a wallpaper version? I'd nominate that as the thread's official poster, since it perfectly captures the awesomeness that is femShep :D

Hmmm. I'm feeling compelled to start a new ME2 Insanity playthrough with my Adept canon Shepard, Kate. As I'll always play LotSB post-suicide mission in my own personal canon, I'd certainly have something to look forward to. ^_^

Something that was recently discussed in the Liara group is Jennifer Hale's voice acting when Shepard comments on Liara's painting of Ilos. I think that Jennifer's delivery of that line is absolutely superb. She genuinely does sound like she's lamenting and considering her friend/lover's thought processes, and how the journey to Ilos two years earlier affected her on such a deep level. For such a simple, unnoteworthy line of dialogue, it's brilliantly well done, I think.

I know I might have violence driected at me, but on my Kat Shepard playthrough I waiting until after Virmire to rescue Liara and then took her straight to Ilos after telling her about the visions and letting her see them and it was funny how she was geeking out and how Ashely kept telling her we had a mission to complete. Her mind was blown. XD

Insanity!  It should be a good challenge for you as an Adept.

I also agree that Hale delivered that specific line beautifully.  It's a small thing, but with a lot of emotion behind it.
