Jennifer Hale is a Biotic Goddess... Well, Goddess at least :P

Preach it!

I love Jennifer Hale's work. She also voices Dr. Naomi Hunter, from the Metal Gear series. Magnificently, I should add. She's an incredibly talented voice actress. Amazing.

I just really love the way Hale sounds when voicing FemShep. It's not just the acting, but her tone and style.

This.  Picture.  Is.  Freaking.  Awesome.

The other one is cool too, but this one, this one looks like a studio promotional image, or even a painting.  Utterly mindblowing.

I know exactly where this is from, but that angle just makes it something completely new.  The wonders of flycam!  Just freaking amazing.

Also a showcase for the badassedness of Garrus in addition to FemShep.  They're like the galaxy's Bonnie and Clyde.

I was wondering something...do most of you still play with the very first FemShep you've ever made, or have you ditched her for newer and more 'cooler' FemSheps?

I've totally ditched the first one I made. The main Shep I used in ME2 (Rachel) was probably the 6th FemShep that I created in ME1.

Nope, I'm still using the first FemShep that I ever created. Same facecode, save file and everything. I'm far too attached to her, and spent alot of time developing her character, personality and backstory. I don't think that I could ever ditch her now!

Furthermore, I have become so accustomed to my own personal creation occupying Shepard's role and position in the story that it would seem weird to create another Shepard, or a variation of my canon Shepard, and use her within either ME game. In my mindset, my Shepard IS the character of Commander Shepard.

Each Shepard is their own story, from "Well, what about Shepard" to the post-suicide mission conversation with Liara, self-contained within their own parallel Mass Effect. I have one for every full playthrough. Making characters is kind of my thing.

Like I mentioned earlier somewhere, my first ever character for Mass Effect was a redhead Adept.  I don't remember her name or her face.  I was disappointed with Mass Effect overall and didn't touch the game again until ME2 came out; then, the combination of both sucked me in and made me a huge fan.  The first character I made for that return playthrough, my Earthborn War Hero Infiltrator, remains my personal canon Shepard, even though I've modified her slightly since, changing her name to Jessica and slightly altering her appearance (like switching from blue eyes to brown) until she fit what I envisioned.

I've tried playthroughs with other Shepards, but so far haven't been successful.  I think I'm stuck on that face as the only face I'll accept for the Commander.

The first Shepard I ever played was back during the week ME1 was released.  I tried to model her after me and her actions but she was a bit of a bore.  2 runs later I got a feel for her character; a cooler version of me.  I also told myself she would get a facelift in ME2 because I had a feeling the customization would improve and I was right.  She is the face in my avatar and the Shepard.  I don't have a hard time playing other Shepards though since they are all different from each other.

My first one is my "cannon" femShep.   But I don't play her over and over.
I have played other femSheps with other personalities and different decisions to see how things in ME2 and 3 change with those "alternate realities."
But Kimbri--my first, is the one I think of when I think of femShep--and esp of femShep and Kaidan.

I do plan on playing her again at a higher level at some point since she's my adept.  I've been given some pointers on higher level play by a friend and want to try those out.

My first Shepard was Jeanne, a pale redhead who was a soldier and pure paragon. I beat the game with her, and I did enjoy playing her, but I didn't really create a backstory for her.

My next character was Jayna, who was tan and had light brown hair, and was a renegade vanguard, to be different. She was fun, but I still preferred being a paragon.

Finally I created Gwen, who was an adept because I hadn't tried it yet, pale blonde, because that was different from my usual characters, and back to paragon, because I'm more comfortable that way. I gave her more of a roleplaying story, but it wasn't really until ME2 that I fleshed her out, and I do attribute some of that to my discontent with the story; if I didn't have to make up reasons for why she acted the way she did, I wouldn't have been forced to give her more personality in my head. So perhaps the writing I thought was lazy was really for our benefit!!! (or not)

I still use and love my original Fem Shep, She's my cannon Shep and I do the DLC with her before any of my other Shepards. I'm half planning on redoing her in ME1 and then bringing her over into ME2, I'm a bit of a late bloomer into the franchise. I basically *just* finished my first run with ME1 before the second installment came out, so I'm still finding new things in the first one that I skipped over when I played her.

I only have one femshep that I transfered from ME1 to ME2... Becky.  All my other Shepards have been Sheploo's with different names and personalities.  I am doing another ME1 femshep playthrough to import to ME2 who didn't romance Kaidan so I can have her romance the prize.

my first shep was...hideous. i had no idea how to use the character creator and to this day, i can't use the *big* eyes because she had them and i associate them with her. i named her Riza (after Riza Hawkeye of fullmetal alchemist) and she was a soldier, spacer, sole survivor and i only played about half the game - no side quests, no talking to the crew, and virmired kaidan (bad!). i remember her well though, because in my mind she was a garrus girl, but i just never got that into her as a character. my second character was sophia - now kyrie, and she's an adept, colonist, war hero, and she's just been remade about a billion times.

i tend to do that, though: pick a look and class i *think* i'll like, ditch it halfway through the game, and then go back. second time is almost always the charm. my da:o mage got ditched for a cousland rogue, my nwn cleric got ditched for a ranger, my nwn2 druid got ditched for a bard. i typically get a ways into a game before i figure out what i really want to do with it. for me, it's always like throwing away the first draft and then editing up the second draft until it becomes what i want. ME just compelled me to play the second draft over and over.

also: @ TZ - yes, i know what you mean about the forehead furrow. i love that on femshep! @ akodo - lovin' that screenshot. @ sable: thanks - i really worked hard to make my shep look marine like. i do like the fine-boned cute shepards. renegade cute femshep is hilarious. like, "you thought i was a cheerleader - let me kick your ***" but yeah, i went for the girl who could believably being playing on the football team instead.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one that has made multiple Shepards before settling on 'the one'.

I have abandoned all previous FemSheps (and ManSheps) including my first for newer ones (or one to be precise) there are a few reasons for this the most simple would be a platform change. I originally played ME1 on the 360 but since then I've moved to PC and have both games on that so obviously keeping any character was pretty much inpossible. That being said I probably would have started over anyway, since ME2 is much easier to design in than ME1 plus on the broader side of things I think the quality of my work is way better now than it was when ME1 came out. Prior to buying ME1 and ME2 on the PC I was mainly playing Dragon Age and using the toolset to make characters as opposed to the in game character creator. Working and talking to other people on these very forums I really pushed myself to improve the quality of my characters enough so that I eventually made characters like these:

So I was much more confident that I could vastly out do anything I had previously made so I set out trying to get exactly that type of character I wanted out Mass Effect. It took about a day of initial work and 3 major redesigns but I'm very happy with the end result and honestly I don't even want to look at the old characters I made. I'm pretty sure I'd hate them.

i hear you, jlb. i loved the short, messy cut from ME2 and didn't like the adjustment it got in ME2. it got longer, uneven, and i didn't like how it looked on blondes. ah well. i think they could make a gazillion hairstyles and i'd still dither about which one to use

I had the same problem too...I played ME1 on the 360 up until January of this year.  At this time, I purchased a new PC and decided to pick up ME2 for it (so, I grabbed ME1 as well).  I think I had about 12 FemSheps on the 360, though some were slightly different variations of the same Shepard (my main, Rachel).  I remade her in ME1 on the PC right before ME2 came out, then imported her into that game.

i love Kestrel on my vanguard

but my engineer and adept would just like to get something...less bulky. sometimes i really miss ME1 pajamas

Yeah, I got Kestrel on my male soldier and female Vanguard.  The stats with that armor suits those classes well.  With all my other Sheps it's usually the +10% headshot headgear, off-hand ammo pack, the heavy ammo leg guards and some variation of chestpieces and shoulder gear (often just the basic N7 type as I  like the look of it on femsheps).

As for casual wear, I do hope there is a costume pack that enables 360 players to wear the Normandy SR1/Alliance coveralls.  I've seen lots of pics of PC players who used mods to equip that outfit but to my knowledge there's no way to do that with the 360.
