i need to learn how to mod these in ME2 so shep can be all standing out among the cerberus flunkies

You know, I loved this haircut in ME1.
In ME2, it looks all stringy and greasy.  As if Shepard never uses the private shower she has.

Okay, I know I've asked the "what would you do with your femshep is she came out of your Xbox/PC" question, so now it's time for the flip side!

What would you do if you got sucked into your femsheps playthrough?

Kill Kelly and take her place as yeoman so I could bask in femShep's awesomeness. I'd be a much better assistant; all Shepard would have to do to get me to feed her fish is ask--hell, I'd shine her shoes if she asked--and I'd be all "Commander, you have unread messages at your...oh wait, you just checked those. Never mind." :devil:

(I don't hate Kelly, by the way, just messing around)

Mine had the same hair, and you're right, the original seems a bit...looser. I realize you can't have hair in your face in the military, and with good reason, but a lot of femShep's hairstyles are so...tight looking. They look painful. Would have at least liked a low ponytail/bun. Guessing bangs would be out of the question XD

Yeah. Seems more in line with what we see here on the forums. It's good to have a second source for that. ;)

That's somewhat of a surprise to me but also a good sign.  With all the attention now to the role of FemShep, we might actually see some more content for her in ME:3.

Oh, and here is my new Shep.... The old one I was playing just didn't fit the personality.

I'm impressed that, given that the voters were what? 67% males that femShep has managed to get that close to manShep on the vote. Wonder what it would look like if we could get more women in there.

@ lastpatriot - i like!
& yeah, ME1 custom_sexy cut was much cooler than it's ME2 counterpart IMO. most of the haircuts got an overhaul for the better, but that one looked odd to me.

and re: bangs - i understand no bangs, but no wispys? seriously, you'd think some of shep's hair would get loose. the bun style in da:o was more to my liking.

i dunno, custom_sexy hair in ME1 looked like it was made out of bricks to me. and it had a certain color glitch

ME2 version looks kind of neat

I think a lot of it has to do with the color. In ME1, blonde looked good in that cut, but in ME2, the texturing didn't look right with the lighter colors to me. It looks ropy, while in ME1 it looked more hair-like.

granted, hair is probably one of the hardest thigns to make, as it never looks or moves like actual hair. probably why all the aliens in the ME universe don't have any.

yeah. blonde variant really looks strange. maybe i just didn't notice anything because of usually playing with dark hair

@ sage: I was thinking about asking for that cut to be fixed for FemShep in the ME3 Wishlist. Mind if I use your pics?

And I don't think it was just the blonde, IMO. Zorya's original look used that haircut, but it was light brown, and in ME2 when I imported her look, it just didn't look great.

in the dark hair styles it looks awesome, i agree. akodo's marge shep especially rocks it. but in blonde it truly looks like rope. this is part of why i modded the hair the moment i could in me2.

@ bro: sure. though i am with m - i think it looks cool for some sheps. it was just that it gave a different impression to me than the original cut did. i went with the messy cut because it gave me that original impression again of a short bob. the new one seemed more thick hair.

I see what you mean, sage. My Shepard also uses the default hairstyle in both games. However, her hair is also jet black in colour, and consequently I do not notice any problems with the textures at all. I actually prefer how her hair looks in ME2. The textures have been improved and there is also less aliasing. I like the slightly longer hairstyle too...it looks sexy!

blonde always bothered me that the undertone is such a dark brown. in ME1, it's not too noticable - just the part. but in me2, it's all throughout the hair. it works for black/dark brown because the texturing rocks. but in the blonde, it's like it's too much. it's too bad you can't set both high and low light color

It's pretty easy to do that since you can just get the ME2 mod manager and just add the additional casual appearances which includes all the Alliance stuff.

good point, akodo's Shep looks absolutely amazing. I'll just ask for the blonde cut to be fixed; I'll ask if they can make the dark parts lighter so the cut looks more uniform, at least, and less ropy.

The problem is that the base texture used for each hair is the same for all hair colors -- a highly contrasted "grey" version of the hair upon which the chosen color is layered.  It is possible to have highlights and lowlights in the character creator for hair (Everquest 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2 are two games I've played that allow this), but I guess they're keeping it simple for Mass Effect.  I think it should be possible to have two different textures, one for light colored hair, and one that has higher contrast for dark colored hair.

I really do wish they'd give us more choices for the character creator in ME3.  Now that Shepard is not an Alliance Military officer, there is no reason why he or she couldn't let their hair grow or change their hairstyle.  I've been sticking with classy for Gwen, but it's getting kind of dull.

She looks great and yes, Alliance jumpsuit on the SR2 is great.  Especially when in talks w/ TIM.  Oddly enough, it just fits my main Shep better.  Thank God for modding!

That's pretty much my point as well and why I really loved all the hair mods we were able to get for DA:O.  Though I'll still RP my FemShep as the "special forces" type soldier, I would like to see a much wider variety in what hair options are available.  For an RPG, I shouldn't really ever see another Shep just like mine.

For extra fun, there's also an SR-1 crew cap in the game.

HelmetAppearances=(Id=9,Type=CustomizableType_Shoulders,Mesh=(Male="BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Cap.HMM_HAT_Cap_MDL",Female="BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Cap.HMF_HAT_Cap_MDL",bHideHair=True),PlotFlag=-1)

Or if you're feeling ballsy (forgive the expression, ladies), perhaps a Rear Admiral's cap?

HelmetAppearances=(Id=12,Type=CustomizableType_Shoulders,Mesh=(Male="BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Officer.HMM_HAT_Off_MDL",Female="BIOG_HMF_HIR_PRO.Officer.HMF_HAT_Off_MDL",bHideHair=True),PlotFlag=-1)

Forgive what may be redundant information, I've been ID'ing casual and accessory packages recently and found those two for the Alliance loyalists in the mix.
