You know, a part of me wishes that I had never discovered this at all. I did not want to upset or anger my friends like this.

I actually have the link to the interview Part 1 in the OP but no one ever reads the OP.  :crying:

:?

Shame really because there are some really nice youtube links in there Ryn.  But most people bypass the OP or at least skim through it.  Its really as an introduction for new people coming in I think

It's better to know the harsh, cold truth than to be left lost in the blissful realm of denial.

I think.

Yeah, I think your right. As much as I wish I hadn't read about this, I'm glad I did. At least now maybe something will be done so this doesn't continue in the future.

I hope

It's not your fault.  This just gives me more fuel to bug Bioware for a better FemShep experience in the future.  I've sent out a few emails already to the "Powers that be".  This thread is here for us all to gather and voice our concerns.  As paying customers, we deserve to have some respect and hard work done on the main character of Mass Effect.

I'm still in a pissy mood though, but not your fault.

It's funny how no one bothers reading the OP. Not that we can do anything about it.

I just wanted to say that I read the OP this morning. It actually has a lot of really great info. Thank you for taking the time to put it together :)

I feel suddenly annoyed again.   I thought they were on the right path with the closed leg thing.  Clearly not  [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie]

And everyone do what Liara says!  She looks like she may shoot a little bunny rabbit unless you read the OP! :P

What OP?  What did I miss?  Can you link it here?

Thanks to those that have read the OP and thank you to those that stop by and join right into the conversation. I just want FemShep's fanbase to be united. It's the best way to be heard, I think.

Edit:
It's also not a must that anyone reads the OP but a lot of the links in it are nice to look at.  See page 1 of this thread if you are curious.

To be honest, I read the OP several days after I started posting here. It wasn't intentional. In big threads you just kinda go to the last post, browse some pages back and that's it. It's not like in the strategy forum, where you really need to read the OP, 'cause if you don't you might get caught in the offtopicness of the last posts and say some stupid.
Here is different. And it is a shame, there's really good stuff in the OP.

Here are the two scenes together. Sobs for dudeshep and ethereal hands for femshep...

Wow, a part of me wishes I could just go on pretending I never read any of this. When you see it back to back like that. It's such a small part of the scene but yet it does make a difference.

Yeah, learning about this today has put me in a bad mood.

Yup, I got a bit mad about it. That's why a made the vid. It's not our imagination femShep doesn't get the same treatment from BW.

Could've quoted any particular part of this subject, but regardless...

This is unacceptable.  I have yet to play LotSB, so I have steadfastly refused to watch any videos, but that doesn't make me any less... mad?  Angry?  Upset?  Not sure what the best word is for the severity of emotion this induces, but it's not pleasant.  The idea that before I even play it I know I'll be cheated out of part of the experience, especially if that experience involves Hillis’ fantastic voice acting... well.  I don't think I need to spell it out.

BioWare needs to patch this.  I would say it's obviously a bug, but it isn't obvious... perhaps it was a mere oversight, yet another failure of quality control and playtesting (of which ME2 has many).  I would say I can't imagine it was intentional, but I can (although I have no idea why it would be).  Whatever the case, bug or not, intentional or not, it needs to be corrected.

There's no way to get in touch with BioWare's troubleshooting department that I know of.  Who do we contact about this?  A mailbox flooded with requests should elicit some response, or at least awareness.

I've emailed Christina Norman, Stanley Woo, and Michael Gamble on the matter.  Not sure if I will receive a reply.  I've emailed Victor Wachter before about the IGN stats for clarification but never got a reply back.  If anyone has any better ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I've already experienced the romance a dozen times with Liara not sobbing in front of my Shepard, a patch won't really change the first experience I ever had with this DLC but I can understand that others might want this.  I'll be damned if we receive this kind of treatment in the future though.  I can see them having lack of oversight on a minor character but this is ridiculous.  She is the lead character of the game.

Thanks for creating the video comparing the two scenes, jwalker. It's even more jarring when viewed almost simultaneously.

It's not pleasant seeing the sausage factory that is game development, especially when the executives have deemed that you in particular get the short end of the money stick. Seeing the comparison video it almost seems like a bug of some kind, there seems to be a point where the audio files should play but for whatever reason they don't. I know when Witch Hunt came out the people in the Morrigan thread alerted BioWare to a series of import flag bugs outlining the problem and why it occurred and they went right to work on a patch for the DLC. Obviously in DA we have access to the developer toolset and can both see and fix these problems in ME2 we have nothing so it's hard to say if this is a bug or just some stupid decision.

You're welcome. Just trying to collaborate a bit here. Although I think we've spoiled some people. Sorry about that.:crying:

It would have been better if I hadn't watched them both. Too bad I already did. :( Wasn't gonna be upset about it; guess I'm anyway.

Well if I don't hear from either of the devs I wrote by the end of this week, I say we should make our own thread about it.  It's going to need the same rules as far as bashing goes, because I can see people popping in to say the FemShep fans are complaining again.  This always happens in other threads concerning FemShep and Liara. <_<  Jlb said it best, the morons think that FemShep is treated equally to MaleShep when she is not.
