The main reason why I still play ME1&2 is because I have yet to make a "canon" playthrough series. KotoR was a great game and lured me away from FPS games. The magic of the past is gone.

Before rynluna mailed them, I mailed them about the same subject. Ultra politely. No response of course.rynluna wrote...

Maybe it has been said before, but did Bioware ever elaborate on the whole 80% MaleShep thing? Meaning I play as FemShep almost exclusively. However, I did create one MaleShep that I did play to completion. So technically I would be part of that 80%. Did they ever actually release the female percentage? I don't remember seeing anything official. Although, I was pretty stoked to see the unofficial 44%
No. They never did go into detail about those numbers. I actually emailed a dev about getting some clarification but they have remained silent on the matter. I would be in that 80% range too as I painfully played ME1 with a dudeshep so I could romance Ashley and imported him into ME2. He hasn't left Horizon yet.

Thought this fit the atmosphere at the moment. That's a shame for all you Liara fans, of course I wouldn't know any difference but it isn't right for content that you've paid good money for to be bugged- the game can be forgiven as its huge and some glitches can't be found until the masses are playing, but not DLC. Makes you wonder if they actually give femShep the same amount of quality control gameplay as manShep.
Still we should be thankful that BioWare are willing to give us the chance to play female when so many other Devs are not. That and 'I'm female Commander Shepard and I have the best voice actress on the Citadel.' Period.

Hmmm, too bad about that. It would have been nice to see some official clarification. Oh well, I have a feeling those statistics that they published are a bit misleading. I'll just stick with my assuptions for now

Wow! Thanks for editing that together. That makes me hurt though. Gawd dammit, what is the purpose of the difference??
I seriously wish I hadn't discovered that - makes me want to take back all the nice things I said about BioWare after LotSB...come on, BioWare - pick up your slack, would you?

Of course I never assumed that it might be fear that drves them. Fear to alienate those non-existent 80%.Valagil wrote...

Okay, here's a comparison of the two scenes. Both Shepards romanced Liara.
DudeShep variation of the scene. Go to 2:55.
FemShep variation of the scene. Go to 1:45.
As you can see, Liara audibly sobs during the DudeShep version of the scene.
Man, Mark Meer sucks. How can you be so emotionless around Liara?
I think the scene is better without the crying sounds. More restrained.

Mark Meer doesn't suck (and doesn't the OP say not to bash Meer or do negative compare/contrasts?), Mark Meer is actually very skilled. It's MaleShepard that sucks. I can just imagine the voice directors having to constantly rein him in: "No no no! Shepard's a badass Marine! Badass Marines have no emotions! Do stoic! Stoic I say!"

But then again this thread is quite popular, as well as all the fanart, media discussions ect that are all dedicated to her. She has a range of appeal.
If so then it seems like Bioware are trying to blind us as they dont want to spend time on femshep. Lack of responses from devs and manipulated statistics and what else they may throw at in the future.... Not to mention the obvious stuff we were just stating in the Liara DLC. Are they just turning the other cheek as they have to much to do already for ME3 and have to make a crucially hard, time and budget choices? (putting neglect nicely)
Nah cant be... can it??

I will be forever stuck with the inferior Liara romance
If nothing comes out of our complaining to Bioware, at least we have the superior voice actress who seems to enjoy voicing her lines with Liara. But, we are not giving up now. No no no!
*hugs*
Thanks, but the voice acting thing is subjective, though.

I find Mr. Meer to be more stoic, yes, but I think it adds to him fading into the background of the role. Hale stands out more. To me it is that avatar vs. character thing: Meer is more avatar like to me, Hale, more of a character to me. my impression, anyhow
You know, I think you hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial

Liara closes her eyes while crying w/ DudeShep. Some suggest femShep actually got the "friend only" reaction. There are some femShep clipping problems too. Also, other players have reported unsual mouth movements when femShep isn't talking. There may be more.

There are clipping errors during the kiss and I believe some other instances too. See a few previous pages ago. They didn't bother us at first but when you couple it with the lack of Liara sobbing, it really starts to add up and ****** me off.

Cheers. So long as it isn't anything major. And again I'll say I prefer the "silent version" of the scene.
As long as this isn't indicating a continuing lack of respect towards Female Shepard in ME3. Then it's knife and fork time!
