@ sable - that is very cool thanks for the info - however, is there something...cheaper? omg, that's an expensive program

@ val - i've been using windows movie maker and...i don't like it very much. the project i'm trying for with my video capture is frankly, large and complicated and the movie maker simply is not cutting it.  movie maker just keeps crashing on my project. then again, when you're working with multiple gigs of footage captured (i got caught up in the game and recorded the entire boss battle from LotSB and ALL the scene after it as one take. was playing on hardcore as an adept. it's a LONG fight. i'm still amazed i did it on my first try without dying. anyhow, using footage out of that fight is painful.)

edited for top-of-page picture: been trying to get good fight footage of these two:

Thanks, both of you for the info. I still think I'm getting in over my head, but I guess we'll see. It's worth a try. Worst case, I make a crappy movie that does not capture what I was trying to actually convey, lol. At least it will be a learning experience.

Good luck on your current project. I hope it turns out as planned.

I downloaded the trial version of Corel Video Studio this afternoon. I started playing around with it a tad and I think it might be decent for smaller projects. I think this one is like $50-$100. It has a 30 day trial so I figured I could test it out and see if it suits my needs. As much as I love Adobe projects, I think it's a little more than I'm ready to spend for an expirement, lol

And too bad ME2 ditched armor in favor of superhero costumes. It still makes me sneer in contempt to see otherwise cool characters prance around in high heels, skintight spandex, and exposed areas while everyone wore hardsuits in ME1.

Thank goodness Liara and Ash (not to mention FemShep herself!) weren't turned into bimbos in ME2. Poor Samara, she badly needs an alternative "costume".

If it can help, I usually use Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 for my video montages. (and After Effects for VFX).

There are newer versions of course but the version 8.0 works just fine for me.

@ mox: no joke. somehow sexy became "sexualized" in ME2. i LOVE miranda, seriously, adore that character. but she is so oversexualized in me2 it's sad. if she had put her hair back, worn armor and not as much makeup, she would have been...ashley.

okay, thatts not exactly true. ash had a sense of humor and miranda is obviously quite a bit more into medicine than ash. but still.

Yeah, I'm a bit ticked that they got rid of armor in ME2 for squadmates. However, it didn't take away anything for me. At least Tali's not over-sexualized(she has a reason for wearing a tight suit.)

I think Bioware know they removed far too much in ME2.   I know quite a while ago one the devs (probably Woo) said they take critics feedback the most seriously and their biggest grief was over the top gear system. So they stripped it right back to basics and then developed the combat system to integrate.  Problem is they didnt mean as far as that!! Halo Reach has more variety then the RPG Mass Effect 2!      Im sure we will see a much more sophisticated (and quite likely original) system of upgrading and squad upgrades for ME3.  Just dont expect ME levels of pick ups of course!

Woo.  What a day.  I plan on gathering my thoughts together concering the FemShep animation issues and what that means for the future soon.  My mind is mentally spent right now though.  If nothing else, I managed to get several developer's attentions.  I couldn't have done it without those of you that visited my other thread and provided your support.  Thank you.  <3

From ME1, I LOVED:

* many different kinds of armor

* all females in armor that LOOKS like armor

From ME2 I loved:

* not having to futz around with omnigel and inventory - just upgrade what you have

* custom color armor

Couldn't decide what i liked better:

* catsuit light armor or heavier med/heavy armor from me2?

* unique to each char outfit or full ability to change armor

* thermal clips or overheating

hmmm....

but i really like women in armor that looks like armor. let people wear casual attire around the ship if you want them to look smexier than they do on the field. shep does. ash did. liara did. kaidan did (rawr!) but i do like a different look for missions. it makes more sense that you'd suit up to fight. i mean, sorry miri, but no one fights in heels. that's just dumb.

I just have to say thanks for creating the post in the 1st place. I've been on these forums for what seems like forever but for some reason I just decided to start posting. I'm glad the thread got the devs attention. You are seriously an inspriation to us all.

while i'm sad that the answer to what happened in LotSB is 'that wasn't our intention, moving on,' i am glad to see that you initiated the discussion in a respectful way that got the devs attention and their response. well done there.

Well the discussion was okay until the internet showed up, but to be expected. As for the dev comment I get where they are coming from, that being said there was a lot of "political" speak in it. They say that the female version of Shepard is treated with the same respect and attention that the male version is but they know and we know it's not. It's not personal but when the deadline came up they re-rigged the MShep animations and finished it up as quickly as they could. As in cases like that things start hitting the cutting room floor in droves and that audio just happened to be one of them. It would have been nice if they re-recorded the dialogue to fit the scene but they've cut more important things for worse reasons.

It's a sucky realization for those who still have a very elevated view of BioWare but I don't anymore so being slightly disappointed with a BioWare product is pretty normal for me these days. So in conclusion: Dang Eh?

I've noticed that FemShep is shorter then everybody on her team. (In both games.) But some are way taller, while others are just a bit. (Maybe it's just me though. Some could be shorter or just as tall. Nevermind if I'm wrong.)
