Commander Shepard is Not Amused

Commander Shepard is... Drugged?

"Uh, kinda sounds like you had a rough night, Commander."
"Joker... just fly the ship."
I think I'll have to make a Commander Shepard Is Not Amused motivational poster.

Having just spent a while catching up, I now see there was a bug explanation from a dev. Regardless, it can't negate what everyone has experienced (or not experienced).ADLegend21 wrote...

I agree that femShep was cheated out of a more emotional scene w/ Liara, but part of me likes that it was mere happenstance that femSheps get to turn Liara into "melted blue butter." With Hale's voice it fits better. Speaking of which, my favorite OT quote from the thread ...

Yeah, that quote is a winner!
I do agree that the cabin scene part is better without the smiles and with Hale's VA...it's a very sensual and sexy scene. The other version lacks this.

A little bit late to the LotSB crying scene discussion (I go away for 3 days and come back to read a lot of angry fan responses) and I have to agree that it's pretty disappointing. Once you've seen the MaleShep version, playing as FemShep is going to feel like I've been cheated somewhat. The sobbing definitely adds more to the scene IMHO. Emphasises the depth of Liara's suffering.
Good job in putting that thread together though Ryn!
Hey Stealthy!
You know, a part of me actually prefers Liara's quiet, more dignified crying. It gives me the impression that she's overwhelmed by the fact that two years of suffering, despair and misery have finally ended, and that she can once again enjoy her life. Furthermore, I feel that it is more in-character for Liara to be somewhat more reserved with her emotions. This doesn't detract from Ali Hillis' wonderful job voicing Liara's sobs though, and Jennifer Hale is as brilliant as ever when Shepard comforts her, and assures her that it's alright. I do sympathise with the people that would like it if Liara were sobbing with FemShep, though.

I think the deal was that we wanted to know why it was different and now we know it's a bug. Even if the current FemShep version is better in some ways, it's not supposed to be there.

Of course. I never actually thought that it was an intentional, conscious design choice and was always confident that it was merely a bug. I'm pleased to see that this has been confirmed, and that we now have assurance that the development staff will work to ensure that this does not happen again in the future.
It sucks that FemShep's scene is bugged, but at least we now know why.

I think it's the fact that she's so overwhelmed that makes me prefer the idea of her effectively letting go completely = unabashed sobbing. However, I can see your side too

Furthermore, I love how Jesse reveals that they are obviously busy working on something big, most likely further ME2 DLC. Ashley and Kaidan DLC, perhaps? I certainly hope so! Can't wait!
After LotSB's excellence, and the fantastic character and romance development that Liara was subjected to, I remain extremely hopeful that my Kaidan romancing fellow FemShep players receive the romance content that they deserve.
That also made my day - both the reply, the acknowledgement of femshep, and the (i hope!) hint of romance DLCs to come.
I'm with Chignon. I wants Kaidan back!

I hope for all the Kaidan fans out there that that is the next DLC we see. Even for those of us that didn't romance Kaidan, it would bring some nice "closeure" to the akward last meeting on Horizon.

Yep, I can understand your stance too. Regardless, I think we can agree that the chemistry between Ali Hillis and Jennifer Hale is awesome, and something that is lovely to behold.

Indeed. I remain hopeful that, by bringing these issues to the attention of the development staff, further progress will be made regarding the acknowledgement of FemShep, and the campaigning of increased attention focused on her.
Love Kaidan's posing, by the way.

It's a logical next step. Or at least I can see it as being a piece of the story that they would want to touch on before ME3 is released. Especially because there was a lot left untold both leading up to and after our meeting on Horizon. Which goes into what is going on after we the SM.

Love it! jlb has some excellent screenshots of Liara posing in this scene, with Shepard also looking a little peeved due to the fact that Lizbeth Baynham fired her pistol at her. Funny.
Speaking of a VS DLC...
Considering the fact that Liara wears a beautiful, formal dress when she visits Shepard's cabin at the end of LotSB, would you Kaidan fans love it if he wore formal clothing if he also visits Shepard's cabin at some point? Perhaps a nice suit, or formal Alliance attire similar in design to Anderson's?
I'll reiterate that I really hope that the romance is handled brilliantly in this hypothetical DLC.
