You're right.  I worded that badly, I fixed the earlier post to say it doesn't call them outright poisonous.  As far as rarity, though, D chiralities are present in common everyday foodstuffs.  Ever had caraway seeds in anything?  You probably didn't even realize they were there, yet they are full of the dextro form of carvone.  People don't die from caraway seeds despite eating them all the time.  A lot of other substances can occur in both forms, and either have no biological effect, or a similar effect but less powerful (like d-Carnitine as opposed to l-Carnitine, for example).  It's when you start chemically isolating or artificially creating racemic substances that you get into trouble.

FRAPS is a good tool for screenshots and movies, if you have a powerful enough PC you can even make it record full-resolution 60 frames-per-second movies.

i also turn off bloom effects, turn off dynamic shadows, bump up brightness and resolution and use flycam.

huh...i just said this same thing in the kaidan thread. i'm totally repeating myself today.

Just make sure you have a large enough hard drive. I just had to order a second hard drive for this very reason. I just started recording video a couple days ago and I already have over 100 gigs worth.

Mikaela's story. This is written briefly and clumsily. Sorry...



Name: Mikaela Shepard

Background: Colonist/Ruthless

class: Vanguard



Mikaela was born on Mindoir. She had three brothers and one sister. Her parents worked on the mining plant. Her uncle was the captain of the space cruiser and he rarely saw his favorite niece. Mikaela was the oldest child in the family so she had to start work at the young age to help her parents.

The tragedy occurred in her birthday. That day started as usual and there were no signs of danger. In the evening fourteen-year Mikaela took her brother from the kindergarten and they were heading home, when it happened ... The Batarian ships came out of nowhere and opened fire on the colony. A few minutes later the whole city was in flames.

Mikaela and her brother were able to reach the home where they found their mother and their two brothers and their sister. Her mother was badly injured and her father was still at the plant where he worked. Mikaela couldn’t let the Batarians to get to her father, so she decided to go to look for him.

She ordered the others to be with their mother, while she will look for their father. Mikaela was sure she would be able to save him, but she was wrong. When she got to the plant, then saw the explosion. The Batarian ship dropped a bomb on the city's main factory…

She returned home and saw like one of the Batarians had killed her mother. His face ... This face she remembered for all her life. Then Mikaela was running away from pursuing her Batarians. The bullet hit her in the shoulder. Mikaela fell into a ditch and lost consciousness.



Three days later Mikaela woke up in the medical bay on her uncle's spaceship. She was the only survivor from her family. She promised herself to revenge for her family.

“They gone.” She said quietly.

“It’s okay, Mika.” her uncle said. “You can cry.”

“Never.” She glared at her uncle. “I will never let myself to cry. Never ever again.”



At the age of eighteen Mikaela entered the Military Academy. She hoped to meet the Batarian who killed her mother. The Leader of those slavers. She trained to improve their biotic powers she had since she was a child. And seven years later she met him on Torfan. Mikaela took revenge, but she lost most of their squad.

Oh wow. At least there's not a vorcha companion in ME2. The fanart there would just be scary...

I eventually found it cute as I got used to femshep/Wrex,but oh HELLno to the vorcha. It'd have purposely killedhis ass on the suicide mission.

Thanks! Actually something like this I wanted to write about Revan from Star Wars KotOR how she met Kreya. Mandalorians attacked Revan's homeworld and killed her family. Kreya saved young Revan and took her to the Jedi Order. And many years later Revan went to the Mandalorian Wars not only to protect the Republic, but also to revenge...
But that's another story

But maybe femshep is broody. So she goes crazy and starts babying all her squad mates in ME3. Awesome.
