Agreed! My Shepard has quite prominent cheekbones, and I feel that her hairstyle compliments them quite well. Her hair colour is also jet black, so there's also absolutely no problems with darker roots that are present when lighter colours are used with the hairstyle.

well i think if you make the eyes the same colour as your Shep's natural eyes then you can get away with it on a paragon...blue and green look great

Wow! Your Shepard is beautiful! Excellent job creating her, she looks amazing.

I also use a darker skintone for my Shepard, combined with her jet black hair. It's kind of a necessity though, considering the fact that she is Asian. Haha. Here's a screenshot of my Kate:

Aw, thanks. I saved the facecode and she is basically canon to me now. Can't really tell in the picture but it's the dark green eyes I find the most appearling about her. Wanted a multi-ethnic but not placable look to her since hey, it's the future, who still cares about race, right?

I like yours as well - I've tried making a few Asian Shepards but I can never get the hang of the eyes, they always come off as too stereotypical. Like in those old movies where you'd have caucasian actors with tape around their eyes *shudder*. Your eyes skill obviously pwns mine

Since this is the only other shot of her I have atm, take this as a silly. I managed to FRAPS a screenie at a time where she certainly doesn't look the tough space-marine, lol.

Well that sounds familiar. T'Soni is very good at enthralling my FemSheps also.

While I sorta liked the girly-girl Liara of ME1 - I took it for what it was - a highschool romance, I remember being so frustrated at her handling in ME2 that, the second I'd talked to her on Illium, I recruited Thane and...well that was it for that Shep - I can get peeved at it now, but back then there were no hints at any DLC, just ME2.

But, me being me I ended up having a femShep for each romance...except Jacob

I have maybe 2-3 different Sheps sharing the face I just shared, it's weird but I have no problem seperating their personalites, I just really dug that look. Uhm, anyways. Did find that in Shadow Broker, Liara finally grew into the LI I felt she should've been since ME1. Was nice to see development with both her and Shep.

mine come from all over the place, girls ive known, actresses, movie/tv show characters, pornstars...some come from other games (random name generators)

eg Jenna = pornstar
Keeley = girl i used to know
Kyra = variation of Kara...from BSG
Jayne = variation of default Jane

and from my WoW chars...
Sabe = from SW
Chyana = from Farscape
Siracy = random generated name i fell in love with
Luminara = from SW
Aayla = from SW
Keiral = variation of Keira..as in Knightly

Warning!  Screengasm ahead!

So last night I just finished my fourth-ish (third and a half, I guess, technically) run through ME1 with Jessica, with the idea of playing through both games back to back and capping it off with my first playthrough of LotSB.  I don't know what it was about this playthrough, maybe I know her and her backstory in more detail now, but the emotion of this playthrough just grabbed me in a way it hasn't before.  I also got a buttload of assorted screenshots, and out of the hundreds (I now have over 3000 just for this playthrough) I felt like I wanted to share the coolest or most emotional that I found among them (or at least where Jessica looks pretty).

VIRMIRE

Jessica Shepard just went through the most tumultuous and trying 72 hours of her life.  It all started on Virmire, of course.  Assaulting Saren's main base was sure to be difficult and dangerous, almost what one might call a suicide mission.  And yet it proved to be a textbook operation... up until she got crucified by yet another beacon...


"Ouch."

... and ended up talking to an actual Reaper itself:


"Well this was unexpected."

Yet even with all that, the mission seemed to be going along without too much of a hitch, they even got the bomb planted without interference... and then Kaidan radioed in that he was pinned down and the evac point was out of reach.  Murphy strikes again.  And then, as she is going to extract him, a geth dropship goes over pins down Ashley at the bomb site... and Jessica knows she can't be in two places at once.


"God help me."

Kaidan's with the STG team and an officer, and someone needs to stay and keep the geth off the bomb... and even though Ash is the sister she never had, the cold warrior part of her brain chooses the many over the few.  Even so, she barely gets to the landing platform in time; everything's on fire and geth are all over it.


"Suppressing fire!"  (On a side note, I love this screenshot, the composition is perfectly aligned to the Golden Mean, and the colors and the fire and the geth laying all over and Jessica's expression and... it's just really cool)

And then just when she thinks things can't get any worse, Saren shows up.  Saren throws her around with biotics.  Then he does something that she will never forgive...


Nobody looks good when they're being choked out.

Jessica is yanked back to that one time when she was a teenager back on Earth, and she panics...


"Not again not again not again..."

Desperate, she clocks Saren, he drops her and leaves, and the Normandy comes in just in time to get them away.

Jessica forces herself to watch the nuclear fireball that kills Ashley as punishment.


"..."

Thus ends Virmire, quite possibly the toughest day of Jessica's life.  At least things can't get any worse.

I tend to go with names that have a meaning for the character and her/his story. Noah means "comfort". I thought it just fit - she tries to give comfort but she also seeks it. 



(And the "perfume poster" screenshot as Giggles_Manically called it. )

Me, I just like the name 'Rachel' and thought it fit well with 'Shepard' so....I picked it!  I didn't put much thought into it...the name just popped into my head one day.

In the past I tended to pick names of girls I had a crush on at some point. I've always tried to give every character a "unique" name. Since Dragon Age and the explosion of characters (99% female) to give a name to that came with it I started to pick them from lists with germanic / norse names.

First off, may I say again what a beautiful, angelic Femshep you have. Kakoii.

As to your question, I named Kira after another female SF hero of mine, the lovely and feisty Major Kira Nerys, raised in a labor camp on Bayor, and helped free her people.

And my second Femshep, Re-L ("Rielle", also represented by the spelling "REAL";  レル in Japanese), is the name of yet another female protagonist from the Anime series Ergo Proxy. She's a bit gothic, but hopelessly adorable nonetheless (even though she's pretty b*tchy).

Well for Mass Effect it's kinda easy since you can just use any modern name so I just run through them in my head until I get one that I like. For other games I look for something that fits in so to speak, for Dragon Age I used medieval names for the humans like Olyvia and Sibylla, Elves I just took modern sounding names and used an obscure spelling so Leelah and Evelin.

I used a name that I use for most game characters I make. it has unique spelling (well sort of) and I like it.

I had intended to name my current canon FemShep "Mechthild Lantrun" which would translate to s.th. like "mighty warrior who knows the secret of the homeland" (-> Adept, Earthborn). Since that was too long I had to cut it down to Lantrun.

I named my male shep after me and he's the only oneI have...I think.

Kallen= one of the female cahracters from Code geass: Lelouch of hte rebellion and possibly the sexiest redheadI've ever seen so Kallen has red hair, always.
Legendinia= the my guess on the female use of the word Legend.
Angela= the best name for a girl IMO and one of my friends. i tried to model the sheprd after her but failed and she ended up being a hot blond. XD
