I also miss the SR1. It felt like the warship out in the unknown. SR2 is so brightly lit it feels like cruise-liner to me
Oh man, no kidding. The SR1 was so far superior to the SR2. Both internally, and externally; the design of the SR1 is much more unique and iconic. The SR2 just looks like they pasted the Normandy's upper hull onto an airliner.
The first conversation with Joker is one of the few times where the game gives an opportunity to say
exactly what Jessica's thinking. "It's all a copy, Joker. There's nothing here that was even a part of the
real Normandy." To her the SR2 is a fake and will always feel like it. She has no connection to the ship like she did the SR1, it's purely a vehicle and combat platform, it elicits no emotion.
She (I) misses the SR1.

The original Normandy was a character in and of itself, much like the Millenium Falcon. The SR2 is too generic.
I wish in ME3 that the Alliance would start producing sister ships of the Normandy class, and we'd get the opportunity to trade in the SR2 for one. It would feel more like home. I don't see that happening though.
