What I hate even more is that Miranda has her office where Shepard's cabin was on the SR1. And right next to it, there's Gardner instead of Kaidan. My Shepard is not amused. Image IPB

Hah! Legion has taken the equivalent of Liara's old area on the SR2. So, instead of being able to drop by and have a conversation with her girlfriend, she's instead greeted with the spectacle of a geth doing the robot.

Or try this:

Shepard (startled): Oh.
Kaidan: Is everything okay, ma'am.
Shepard: Oh, yes. Just fluids... dripping down my leg. Not so comfortable with the armor.
Kaidan: ...

I'm assuming that the SR2 will be reused in ME3, and that certain rooms will be repurposed when we inevitably recruit new squadmates. Ashley or Kaidan could work in the armoury, and Liara will need to room to operate her information network from!

i need an option to dim the lights at least in Shep's room

god, i hate bright lights

I think the SR2 would be fine if they changed the decor and lighting to match the SR1...but do remember, the SR2 was made by the private sector, who do things differently from the military...who tend to make things practically without bothering with any the aesthetic detailing used on the SR2

but i think we are getting off topic here

I sleep in really late and I miss lots of exciting/interesting convos. :(  I've been working on a one-shot of the Cabin scene between Shepard and Liara.  I actually touch on Liara still having issues over Shepard's death and both of them not really knowing what Cerberus did in the operating room.  It still needs work but I managed to write more than I have in days, last night.

Also, people mentioned that you get a different convo if you pick up Liara last in ME1....I have video of that.  Sorry for the crappy quality.  I was barely learning how to use Premiere at the time and forgive Shai for looking like a ghost.  She's had a complete makeover since then!  :P

If you ever do post that one-shot, I'd love to read it. I can't get enough FemShep/Liara fanfic. Maybe one of these days I'll attempt to write something. Until then I have to rely on everyone else.

Thanks for posting that video. Her rationalizations are hilarious. I was ready to try this out myself. Now I don't have to. Waiting that long to recruit Liara would not have been easy.  I was going to try it once but I just couldn't do it.

Besides I like the SR2 more than the SR1, the old Normandy felt like a dark gloomy submarine that ran out of spare lightbulbs.

That's exactly the point!  The Normandy was a submarine!  A space submarine, sure, but it was essentially the same capability for essentially the same role.  It felt like a military vessel.  It was dim and quiet and cramped and capable and you would never see her coming if she didn't want you to.

The SR2 is a frigging cruise ship.  There is so much wasted space on that thing it's criminal.  Plus it's all white and full of that crappy flourescent lighting.  It's like flying a hospital.

Question for ya'll: Have any of you ever considered your femSheps to be flirty? I'm trying to come up with a bio for mine and I'm having trouble deciding. I don't mean over-the-top but rather that "oh you should be so lucky - play your cards right and it might happen" kinda way. I think Hale gets it in some of the ME1 VO with Kaidan but I'm thinking gestures to go with it...

Mine was flirty in her young days, yes.  Not so much anymore, except with Liara.

Mine's not flirty at all.  In her younger days, after getting, uhm... taken advantage of one too many times, she learned that flirting was a protection mechanism, to make it look like she wanted it, so that she could get the most powerful people on her side.  It was like a reverse protection racket.  She now associates flirting with being a victim, and if there is one thing she despises, it is being a victim.

... yeah, she's damaged.  She only let Liara in because she was an asari and she has a rather unrealistically idealized view of the asari.  That and they'd already done the Vulcan mind meld twice.

I don't consider my Shepard to be overly flirty. That's why I generally avoid conversing with Jacob unless I have to. The whole forced flirtations drove me nuts.  Her flirting with Kaidan in ME1 didn't bother me so much. It wasn't quite as obvious. Plus if I wanted to, I could interpenetrate my flirting with Kaidan as being unintentional. He got the wrong idea see? Alex is pretty easy going and sometimes some of the male crew members take this the wrong way. Although I think they are starting to realize her heart only belongs to one person.

See that's what I was thinking. My primary Shep was a street kid, so it makes sense for her to have a bit of a wild streak when she's younger (pre ME1, I mean). It takes awhile for her to loosen up around Kaidan but when she does, she does not mind handing it to him: "I think you need more practice appreciating me...on the floor and give me 20, LT". I love that line

the LIs in ME1 definitely benefited from a more restrained flirtation.

my femshep i consider to be completely BAD at flirting because she's usually way too direct when she wants something. she manages to flirt with kaidan primarily by complete and utter accident.

No not really, sometimes she can look flirty but interpersonal skills aren't something mine has. I think she knows more about ways to crack a skull open with a blunt object than how to hit on someone.

Basically the answer to the obvious subquestion is, I never talk to Jacob and when I have to I'm always as rude as possible.

Thanks for the answers, gang. I was curious to see what you thought, because I think it directly ties into how the Jacob thing just went as wrong as it did. It so does not fit her character, she wouldn't sound like a cheerleader at a party, I think she'd be a lot more direct. Risk asking about going out for drinks/coffee and then living with the answer, you know?

She definitely wouldn't wait around for anyone to ask her, if she were interested.

Huh. Well Tali kinda reminds me of my sister, maybe that's why I can't hate her even though I do find her very annoying. But you can't pick your family and you can't pick your chicken legged tech experts.

Miranda annoys me.
Jacob bores me.
Garrus is f*cking awesome.
Thane is cool.
Mordin is fun.
Kasumi is interesting.
Zaeed is the badass grandpa you wish you had.
Grunt is well a poor replacement for Wrex.
Legion is the robot buddy that most people want.
Tali well I like her but I know a lot of people don't.
Jack scares me in a good way.
Samarra is cool in a "wow she might actually kill me" kind of way.

It's extremely OOC for my Shepard since she is gayer than gay.
Kelly's flirting with my Shep is also very annoying since she should know that Kathryn just woke up from the dead and probably still had feelings for Liara.  Grrrr....it's probably only annoying to me, though.

It wasn't a question of sexual preference, simply the tone I meant, ryn :)
As for Kelly, I don't know. I don't see Kelly as someone wanting to monopolize Shep. I think she's just trying to signal that she's...open, if Shep wants a warm body at night. It never seems to be more than a casual thing in bed. I just wish BioWare hadn't put her in that stupid dancer's outfit, that totally kills the thing for me <_< She's way more attractive in the cargo pants, which is no mean feat!

Thank you. At least I know I'm not the only one that was bothered by this. Okay, the flirting I can deal with because well, thats just Kelly and I can easily shrug her off. Though the one playthrough I left Kaidan alive Kelly wanted to know if I still had feelings for him. Um, I never had feelings for him and when I say so I come off looking like a heartless b*tch... Why is it Kelly has no clue when it comes to Alex and Liara, yet Kasumi knew all about it?

Kelly has no gaydar?
Which would cause her to assume that you went with Kaidan irregardless of your actual choices.

..not extensively, as such; being a spacer, I figure Kate's used to the idea of not really having any real stable situation or friend circle, so while I'd imagine her having some casual flirting thrown in with her own sense of humor towards someone she has or is developing some degree of interest in (see Kaidan), I can't see her being very blunt or overt about it - generally not expecting to take it anywhere since, well, I'd imagine she's used to situations not really permitting it.

Moreover, after surviving Akuze and ending up a little more noteworthy than either she or her folks expected, I think she's been a tad too busy since just keeping up with the increasingly significant ranks and postings that have been thrown her way to really indulge that much.

Why do Sheps who didn't romance Kaidan even get that question? It always irked me to no end. And on top of that, it's Kelly who's asking that question.

Well, at least Kasumi knows about Liara and Shepard. Not so much about Ash/Kaidan and Shepard. Image IPB

Well Kelly seems a little oblivious...so her assuming that FemShep went with Kaidan might just be based on her idea of who FemShep is.
