'Zackly.  I am keeping an eye on the Modding Is Possible thread to find out if they figure out how to reassign squad powers, because Jack will get Slam and Miranda will get Warp Ammo.  It just makes more sense for their characters anyway.

It was so obvious that they swapped Jack and Miranda's loyalty powers, too!  If not for that, Jack wouldn't have had any defense-stripping powers, though it doesn't do her much good anyway, due to the restrictive assortment of weapons she can use.  Fortunately, that can be modded.

It was a good read.  You shouldn't worry so much, you didn't even tell everyone what it's about. :P

Yeah, it's gripping alright. :) She almost gave herself away, with regard to Liara still being alive. And it looks like it's going to be a long few weeks for her. :(

I like the conversations people are having about squadmates and powers but just try to keep them related to FemShep.  Anyway....

Can't go wrong with the classic.  Onyx.  Light, medium, heavy...it all screams Commander Shepard, imo.

You can't go wrong with the Onyx N7 armor look. Unfortunately, it's the weakest armror in the game, and the best armor looks corny(except on Ashley only because black and red looks much better than white and pink.)

Yep, true that it is pretty weak but I play for fun now that I don't need achievements and I usually go for a certain look with my canon Shep.

Screenshot awesomeness!  Or well, at least mildly interestingness.

"How will this end?"
"In fire."

Okay, Babylon 5 quotes may not exactly fit Mass Effect 2, but it's appropriate to this situation, because a mere month and a few days after the Battle of the Citadel, Jessica finds herself aboard a disintegrating Normandy, running through jets of flame to reach Joker.  Love this screenshot.  Lucky timing.

Posted Image
"Crap!"

Then she walks out into CIC and the sight guts her just like the attackers have gutted her ship.

Posted Image
"...good god..."

Did you ever notice that Shepard hits the wall so hard chunks come off her suit?  Neither did I, but they do.

Posted Image

And this, right here, is why I no longer watch the opening movie.  I leave it running minimized, check back to get through the brief gameplay sequence, then leave it running again and come back in a few minutes when I know it's sitting at the Lazarus screen.  The pain and terror in that arched back just make me twist up inside.

Posted Image

Two years later, we catch up once again with Jessica on a medical table, peacefully counting electric sheep.

Posted Image

At least until that stupid pounding noise wakes her up...

Posted Image
"Five more minutes, mom..."

Except it's actually gunfire and explosions.

Posted Image
"Well, crap."

Now she's just pissed off.  And apparently not quite put back together yet.

Posted Image
"Ouch."

And with that Jessica's back, sans hair, sans makeup, and sans a sense of humor.

Posted Image
"I'm missing half of this equation.  Where's my bubblegum?"

I figured she'd been on a medical table, and in situations like hers they keep the patient's head shaved, that's even assuming her skin has grown back recently enough to start regrowing hair in the first place.  I figured I'd hack in the new hairstyles as time progressed, and as I was googling how to do this, guess what I should stumble across but sagequeen's blog, talking about doing the exact same thing!  You rock, sage, without that blog I wouldn't have figured some things out.  Great minds think alike, huh?

Also, how the heck have people gotten flycam to work during cutscenes in ME2?  Unlike ME1, you can't seem to turn it on once the cutscene has started, and some of the really awesome screenshots like the one of femShep and Garrus arriving on Korlus remain out of my reach.

Cool stuff, Sable.    I like the idea of her growing hair throughout the game.

As for the death scene, what gets me is when she clutches at her throat.  You know right then, it's ending.  :crying:

And on that cheery note, g'night.  ;)

oh, sable, i am SO HAPPY to see another shep shaved bald and then hair hacked back on. and i am so happy you visited my blog on it. yeah, i'm a dork. but it was FUN to play it that way.
when i import new kyrie for an insanity run, i am going to do it all over again.

^ like i said, canon shep is all i can do, and the hair thing became canon for me. i can come up with reasons why shep could have hair, but in my head, wilson is a ****** and he shaved her.

Posted Image

bald shep is unhappy shep

Posted Image

how'd my hair get so curly?

Posted Image

why the wig, again, kasumi?

hell yeah!

Wow, Jessica looks even more amazing in ME2!  Speaking of hair growing, I was reminded of one of my friend's really awesome trailers.  FemShep also wakes up with a shaved head and over the course of the video, her hair grows back.  It's one of the better trailers out there too, imo.  Repercussions 2 by gdoism

Heh, I actually started a "theme" game on ME1 (it's with a FemShep, so we're on topic here! Posted Image ), the theme or challenge being that everyone in the squad must keep the model of their default armors. They can advance in tier, or move from light to medium or from medium to heavy, that's it. Wrex is the lucky SOB in that Mercenary armor is actually pretty good even at the end. Tali might run into trouble, since I don't know if her default even has better than tier I versions available... But ME1 Tali can get ginormous shield strength, and it's kinda fitting that she's brought down easily once her barriers go down. Oh and this will be an Insanity run... Posted Image

ANYWAY, on topic once again, it's a rare type of FemShep for me, a Paragon Soldier set up to romance Kaidan. I seem to be a somewhat rare breed in this fandom, in that I have no "canon" Shep. They are all canon to me, from my Renegades like sociopathic Adept Henry (the only one I have who's killed Shiala and wiped out the Feros Colonists) and ruthless Vanguard Lola to uber Paragons like Sentinel Grace and Engineer Clarence (he does end up killing most Batarians he meets tho, Colonist background ya know...)

I'm not getting my hopes up that by the time Maryam Shepard wakes up on the Lazarus operating table, we'll have news about a VS DLC, but hopefully that day too shall arrive, when she can properly reconcile with Cmdr. Alenko.

I tried making Maryam somewhat middle eastern in looks, figuring her parents on Mindoir were a US / Iranian couple who got bored of living in the crowded cities of Earth and used the funds they had saved from their upper middle class office jobs to start a family in the off world colonies. It ended badly for them, but they raised their girl well, and she ended up saving another colony, Elysium.

I think she will be one of my more idealistic characters... Perhaps I'll even let Balak go to save Kate and co with her, tho by my own morals this is a dangerously sappy move. Charn will end up as a brown stain on the walls and the floor, as always (seriously, no Shep of mine would let that scum live). Bad move to go bragging about your "slave grabs" to a heavily armed Mindoir native... Posted Image

@ ryn: wow. awesome. fun trend. i justified it in my head that biotic metabolism would mean faster hair growth. i actually asked my stylist how fast it would take hair to regrow if shaved off entirely. i think she thought i was a little crazy...

So.  Freaking.  Gorgeous.

I think she looks better in this screenshot than any other screenshot I've seen of her.

That's the exact hairstyle I plan on Jessica ending up with, too.  She just lets it grow untrimmed.  Maybe after the Suicide Mission, just before she goes to help Liara with the Shadow Broker, I'll Gibbed it back to her original hairstyle.

Jennifer has been killed and rebuild. So here's few pictures of her in ME2.

First couple armor shots
Posted Image
Posted Image
Then in cerberus univorm. (which suited her better than the more informal cerberus cloths.)
Posted Image
And then she's getting happily drunk (Which she really needed and no there's no happier picture. Other picture from that she had creepy expression so not going to use that. She's happy on the inside. Honestly.)
Posted Image

Still don't know who she's going to romance. She's flirting with Kelly a lot, but that just might be after shock of being dead and getting rebuild. :D

I know what you mean, im currently on an ME1 playthrough and are using the console only, spectre-style, armors for my Shep as IMO they look best on her....currently going with a black and purple number which suits an infiltrator

I must upload some of the screenies i got of her

I couldn't agree more! (Well, I probably could, but I agree enough already).

Catching up myself, as I have been doing the last few days (my, this group moves fast!), I've really begun to be bothered more and more, on an emotional level, that Shepard hardly deals with her death. :( The more everyone says it -- including myself, LOL -- the more I realize it's true. And I realize I've really been missing it, RPG-wise, to the point where it almost became a immersion-breaker for me. So, I do what I always do in such cases, I try my hand at some fanart again, to express what keeps my soul in turmoil. Okay (shameless plug), here it is:

ranka-mei.deviantart.com/#/d30adum

Hope you like it. :)

Fake edit: Oh, and if you have the time, please read the little story that goes along with it. They kinda go together.

I really like this. The picture and story complement each other wonderfully. Nicely done :)

If they started the metabolic process prior the full recovery of brain activity Shepard's body would have started to grow hair, fingernails and all that jazz. I start bald but that's just to use the shaved diffuse map to patch up the seam in the sexy haircut, and I heal the facial scars right from the start too. So I guess essentially I show as much respect to the Lazarus project as BioWare did which is pretty much none.

I finished ME2 with Nemain last night and I must say......I love the running animation at the very end. It would be neat to create a .gif animation with what I recorded. If anyone else enjoys watching Shepard run as much as I do, please let me know that I'm not a weirdo. B)

Totally not weird and I'm sure with plenty of company. Wasn't that a big part of the draw of watching Run, Lola, Run... Franka Potente and the frantic sprint sequences set to music?

So I'm not weird, good.  There's something very primal about watching someone run and since I love seeing Shepard in action, the scene above is awesome. I just wish that most of the screenshots I capture weren't so blurry because of all the movement.

I prefer the Predator L/M/H series in ME1.  Effective, and it looks like something you'd actually wear into combat.  No bright yellow sections, for starters...
