What I like about the "romance locker" scene is that for once Shepard is not alone. This time she has someone she can lean on, if only for a moment. Just when she was possibly ready to give up, there was someone there to cheer her on and lend her strength and courage. Plus on a more selfish note, the scene makes me smile :)

I love seeing Shepard in these vulnerable states. Those locker scene moments show her to be human and thus flawed and sometimes in need of help. I really hope Bioware expands on this for future DLC or ME3. Shepard has done enough heroic deeds. Would be nice to see another character pick up the slack (Kaiden would be ideal).

Well getting with someone is always nicer then being alone

Guess my attempt to rationalise that scene got shot down then :P   Probably a good thing!    Shep needs some loving after all shes been through! :)

I thought your reasoning was good and it's what I'll be saying to myself to make myself feel better when I get there :P.  There's so little 'vulnerable/human' Shep in the game anywhere we're desperate for the scraps.

I think I'll miss the pre-Ilos dialogue more than the locker scene though.  I always loved the "let someone else be on the poster" line.  Lonely Shep is lonely this playthrough :(

The only problem I have with the love scene is that it happens soon after losing one of your teammates on Virmire. I couldn't help but feel a little sleazy having Kaiden approach Shepard in her cabin even though I chose to save him for legitimate reasons.

True enough.  But it is kind of "the end of the world."

Maybe losing a friend made them realize life's too short not to, umm, go for it.

Well you can slightly offset that if you don't save Virmire until last. I remember in my first playthrough I did that, and it felt alright in terms of pacing. Of course, ever since I've been saving it until last, since Ash is my tank and I wanted to hold onto her for as long as possible.

Holy crap, you're right....and I'm not being sarcastic. It never occured to me to complete Virmire between the Noveria and Feros missions. That would really help with the love scene pacing but for the story overall, it's better to save something that dramatic for the end of the game.

I always saved Virmire for last. It's probably my favorite mission. Well aside from the whole Kaidan dying part. While it might help the pacing of the romance part of the game, it just doesn't make sense (to me at least) to do Virmire before going to Ilos.

I always figured yeah, Shep is sad because she had to leave Kaidan on Virmire to babysit a nuke, but at least she has someone to comfort her. Really, I'm convinced Liara and Shep have a conversation about how hard the whole experience was. It was never done in game and that drove me nuts. The 1st time I left Kaidan I talked to Ashley and then immediately went to talk to Liara in the hopes she'd have something comforting to say. Apparently, She didn't think Shep was upset by all this... So I just pretend they talked about it that night.

I naturally always done Virmire last as it always seemed the natural course of things. Plus as said I wanted to keep my full squad intact.

But you miss out on a couple of extra cool dialogue scenes from Liara unless you do a different order like Therum or Novaria last.

When I played ME1 for the first time, I did Virmire last. It was horrible for my FemShep to chose between Ash and Kaidan but great for the narrative and from a character development perspective. And I'm sad to say that poor Ash didn't even make it once.

Now I tend to to do Virmire as soon as I can - you know, like ripping off a band-aid.

I think Ryn linked Female version from that first scene somewhere in this thread little while ago. I tried to find that, but couldn't find it. I propably didn't go enough backwards on the pages. FemShep fans are really active on this thread. :D

this was my thinking for kyrie. it's also the colonist thing for her  - "You are the straw that breaks my camel's back" or something. she's given up a lot and this is just where she cracks and asks for something for herself. selfish, yes, but that's how i think she is at that point.

it also fit with virmire being last - i do it last for a very stupid reason: this way i can get ALL the side quests out of the way first. some don't unlock until after feros and noveria and i can't stand to get liara last.

So does anyone have any favorite locations or events in the game for taking screenshots of their characters? The areas that provide the best lighting---and by best I mean most flattering and interesting---are the Citadel Wards, the Normandy Observation deck, Garrus' station, the Comm. room, and the underground club in Afterlife.

I think my Shepard looks the worst in areas with harsh, warm lighting such as Tuchanka and most of Omega. These places make her face look swollen yet oddly flat.

Looking at ME1 screen shots of my main Shep, Devi, feels a lot like looking through embarrasing yearbook photos. She looks so much better with the improved graphics and lighting in ME2:

The only exception is the squad menu screen which offers the worst possible image of any Shepard in ME2:

For ME I think good lighting happens when talking to Kaidan at his workstation. Both lighting and angle are very favorable for Shep, I think. Example (do forgive the Xbox-quality capture):
