I might skip DA2 because you can't choose to play different races.

Wow...I was not aware that my quick and vague description of my Shepard would prompt everyone to write up detailed accounts of their Shepards! I will write a lengthier version tomorrow morning, and have it posted here ASAP.

Regarding being forced to play ME3 as a DudeShep? I'd skip the game entirely.

I was wondering... How important is it for you all that the game can be played as a female character? Would you skip ME3 if FemShep was not in it (let's hope not)?

Well, first I have a pretty strong stance on she wont be taken out. But the game is great,  so I dunno. Im just glad I wont have to make the decision, femshep will be in it no doubt

For my background, I use the Earthborn/Ruthless combo (max Renegade points!) though my Shep is more Paragade. I think I mentioned this before, but she was into crime/drugs/gangs in her youth, until she was adopted by a family of retired Alliance Officers around age 14. It was still rough going for a few years, but she eventually decided to join the Alliance at age 18.

She didn't volunteer for Torfan, but was assigned to it due to her combat and leadership abilities. She felt bad for all the deaths that occurred under her command, and they still bother her to this day.

Would skip it.  At this point for me, Shepard is a woman, and the dudeShep does not exist.

Disregarding the fact that they're both voiced by Jennifer Hale, but FemShep really does remind me of Samus Aran in that they're both strong, capable, confident, able, powerful and feminine women ensuring and maintaining galactic stability and peace in a sci-fi military setting. Both happen to be two of my most favourite video game characters too.

I enjoyed reading all the backgrounds of everyone's femSheps. Sounds like a lot of you have put quite a bit of imagination into the backdrop of her life. Cool!

I'm still trying to come up with Kathryn Shepard's story.  It's probably gonna suck!

Oh, I thought the one on the right was Ashley until I saw the 'N7' armor.

*Overexposed Shepard Warning*

I was thinking of drawing Freya with long overgrown hair at some point. A plotline I have planned for a fanfic has her having to survive alone in the wilderness for a while, and by the end of it she's got a messy mane of hair.

I like that idea, MDK - be nice to see her with her hair down, as it were.

Oh, what will she be wearing, I wonder?

The pelts of her enemies.

Just kidding. So, I wrote up a backstory for my Shepard, but it's a bit lengthy (about 2/3 of a page in Word). Does anyone still want to read it?

The image in my head is parts of her N7 armor - like perhaps a single shoulder and maybe the boots, and the the clothes she wears underneath it - all ripped of course.

Sorta going for the dirty!sexy look

On the topic of armor (and don't take this the wrong way, I'm just putting it out there), wouldn't it be beneficial for soldiers to wear as little as possible underneath their armor? The biggest problem I can see with wearing clothes under a combat hardsuit is the fabric interfering with medi-gel distribution.

EDIT: Okay, Jamie, I'll post it. Here we go.

Cliff's Notes: Jane Shepard / Colonist / Ruthless / Paragade / Infiltrator / Romanced Liara

Jane was born on the human colony of Mindoir, to John and Hannah Shepard. She had a sister two years her younger, Nicki (I don't recall ever reading that Shep was an only child). Her father, an expert marksman, taught her to shoot when she was a teenager, and she acquired a sizable knowledge of tech skills from repairing broken farming equipment.

When Mindoir was raided by slavers, Jane was one of a handful of people not killed or captured, partly due to skill, mostly due to luck. She and the other survivors were sent to Elysium for medical care. Afterwards, Jane worked odd jobs until she turned eighteen and enlisted with the Alliance.

Hard life as a colonist helped her during training, and she performed better than most. Most Alliance Marines serve a tour on a colony world or two beforebeing assigned to the fleet. Jane's technical scores and overall standing during Basic gave her the opportunity to apply to the Special Forces Academy right after her hazardous environment training on Titan.

With a washout rate of over 95%, the Academy was an institution legendary for its brutal training regimens and unforgiving instructors following the First Contact War. Jane made it through to graduation and was immediately assigned to the fleet. The majority of her missions were performed alone or with a single partner, very rarely did she work in groups of more than three. Recon, sabotage, and assassination were her primary mission profiles, with the occasional deep-strike op into the Terminus Systems.

Eventually, she attended Officer Candidate School, a joke compared to her N7 training. Her first command was as a lieutenant during the Theshaca Raids, where her team was responsible for the most enemy kills. Her work during the raids was one of the reasons she was chosen to lead the ground team at Torfan. Mindoir and Elysium were almost merciful compared to the exacting, thorough, and grievous annihilation of all enemy personnel trapped in the base.

After Torfan, Jane's life settled down somewhat. Now a commander, she rotated through a desk job, occasionally being recalled for the odd N7 mission before being assigned to the Normandy.

Yeah, I kinda put some work into it. Oh, and REVENGE!

That does sound hot.

Yeah, I wonder too what they would wear underneath the armor?

Oh, geez. Copy and paste fail. I don't know why all the text in my last post got jacked up like that.

EDIT: Fix'd.

That's OK, it was a great summary!

About the sibling thing, I think Colonists can have siblings who died in the attack (I don't think it's specified anywhere that they do not).  I think the Spacer background specifically states 'only child', but I could be wrong.  The Earthborn has no family, so no siblings by blood, though mine has some non-blood siblings since she was adopted.

Thanks. It's the first time I ever organized her background and put it "on paper" so to speak. Before it was all in pieces in my head.

Well we know that under the armor pieces there's that black suit with the almost chainlink texture.

Beneath that, I'm picturing something like a sports bra and shorts, maybe?

I can't imagine she'd be naked, but nor would it be something that extensive.

Hm....now I really want to draw a pic of Shepard midway through armoring up.

Cool.  I like it. You seemed to have put a lot of thought into her story.  Thanks for sharing.
