randomness, playing me1 make me nostalgic for squaddie banter. upon killing a geth colossus:
Kaidan: Good work. Now we're halfway to driving those sythetic b*st*rds out of this sector.
the matter of fact way in which he says that is priceless. is not swearing. is just what they are.

Yeah, I brought that up earlier but it seems as though my mention of face structure 7 steered the conversation more towards favorite settings than the issue of female characters restricted to a certain look.

in honor of lotsb, taking liara with me a little more often this run. she's so useful! though several times she failed to get a singularity off and kaidan took the brunt of the attacks. i think she planned that...
i'm becoming steadily more a fan of her. shows what DLC will do for a character.

The irony is I think your characters are beautiful, just not in the conventional Megan Fox-y sort of way.
I guess I'm resurrecting the topic you brought up earlier, but I personally don't feel any pressure to make "pretty" femsheps. I tend to do it as a matter of personal preference.

Since we're on the topic of femShep's appearance and mannerism, does anyone feel that there is a lot of pressure to make your Shepard conventionally pretty, and not just to others, but for yourself? I've noticed that a lot of maleShep faces are harsh, scarred, and mean looking while femShep faces steer more towards a clean, petite look (face structure 7, here's looking at you...). My point is, female faces posted on the ME2 database site are often judged by their beauty and little else. I find that bothersome.
I just enjoy playing a character that is badass and hot to boot. I guess it's a part of the escapism for me. I appreciate that others prefer more realism for their Shep, but if I could stick my Shep in high heels and give her a ridiculous big ass gun I would. Oh wait, I can. Sweet.
As far as the broader topic of it being okay for men in media to be grizzled and "ugly" but woman being judged by beauty. Unfortunately you'll have to take that one up with society
This brings up a salient point for me though, and that is the implication that it's not realistic for femshep to be both gorgeous/sexy and be a badass soldier.
Who cares what people think though, when you've got a Krogan at your back.

or the future Shadow Broker with commando powers
or a stable L2 biotic marine with mad tech skills
or a lady with a big-ass gun, an attitude, and a book of poetry
or...
well, you get the idea.

The need for escapism and indulging in making a character with the "perfect" face is understandable, and even I am guilty of it to a certain extent, but I wish there was a more open-minded attitude of what we expect in a heroine's appearance. I would never feel deeply insulted by someone finding any custom character of mine ugly, however it's frustrating when those comments are then tied to whether so-and-so is a suitable femShep, or Oblivion character, or hero of the Wasteland, etc.. Either the main female character is super attractive or she's not worth paying any attention to. I don't see as many female main characters as I do male and when you add to that the fact that male characters can be as beautiful as Sephiroth or as ugly as Marcus while the same cannot be said for females and, well.....I guess I'm just projecting at this point.ELE08 wrote...

I've been meaning to ask you: Did you post the first version of Danielle's facecode over on masseffect2faces.com? I found one there that looks an awful lot like her, same name, even. I was just wondering if you'd be willing to part with the lastest version.
I know this was like 20 hours ago but it was directed at me so the least I can do is try to answer the question. I've never given out my face codes for ME2 and upon seeing this face (took some digging though) it's not that much like mine the codes are pretty different though both start with 7 and end in 76 and that's pretty much where the similarities end. As for handing out codes and morphs it's always sorta weird for me, if only because I have had problems in the past with people ripping my work off wholesale, reuploading it and saying it's theirs. Which is always super strange for me because I never really think my stuff is worth stealing in the first place and I feel somewhat silly being protective of what essentially is a bunch of computer code that produces a face. Not that I don't want to be a team player and help people out it's just a somewhat awkward situation for me and I'm hesitent to give away "Trade Secrets" so to speak.
Edit: I should ask of those who make custom faces how do you feel about sharing codes? Do you hand them all out or keep them super secret?

I have shared all my face codes. But I understand wanting to keep a face all to yourself. Teagan's the first Shep morph I've really felt attached to/ownership over, so I wouldn't post it publicly (like on the face site) but I still give it out if someone PMs me requesting it.
I like to share assuming it's for personal use and enjoyment. But I've also never had someone claim creation of something that was mine. I'm assuming that happened to you with DA face morphs. That might make me think twice.
edit - I'm inclined to feel less proprietary over a Mass Effect face just because the creator is so limited; a lot of femsheps look alike just by chance.

thank you! i am going to try that out.
ugh, illium. i dunno - is hard to compare:
liara romancers had theliara
VS romancers had thekaidan/ashley <---closest i can find to angry face
they both sucked! liara's is just so cold it hurts and horizon is just so angry it hurts.
it hurts! i almost preferred kaidan's yelling though. the "i loved you" - makes the heart skip a beat and hope (if one can ignore all the other CRAP spouted in that scene - by shep and the VS both)
Sometimes I feel the intentionally made the ME1 LI's as "unappealing" as possible so we would cheat on them with the ME2 LI's. I remember reading an article with one of the devs bragging about the new LI's and how it's going to be hard not to be tempted by the new romances. Ugh. No offense to those that prefer the ME2 LI's but this was just a thought I had. Since Kathryn is gay, there really wasn't anyone there for her to raise her eyebrows at and even if Jack or Miri were romanceable, she still wouldn't go for them.

I have to agree with you there. To each their own, but I was never all that intrigued by any of the ME2 LI's either. If Alex was going to romance anyone, it probably would have been Garrus. However, that whole romance just seemed so akward to me. I think my Shep is much happier having him as a good friend. Honestly though, even if I thought there was an awesome romance option in ME2, I don't think Alex could have "cheated" on Liara. To me, my FemShep/Liara is just a perfect match. In fact, it's my favorite relationship in both ME1 and ME2. I'm a sap like that though.

Do you know about the me2 to me1 face-code converter website?
http://kenerd.com/se...1/me2tome1.php?
It works like a charm.
