The way I play my Ruthless is that he (havent done a femshep one yet) is that he sent his unit after one pill box, while he went after the other one, with a few others (Infiltrators) they got their target but, the others got caught out in the open, and he saw them get cut down.

He won that day, but the thought that his orders sent many friends, and people who trusted them to their deaths... haunts him.

To get this on topic I just made this out of boredom:

I spend a day at the beach and have so many pages of good discussion and pics to read through.  This thread is a happening place.  :P  I will just add to the conversation about backgrounds.  I think they can all have some depth to them if you add your own backstory to them.  My canon has the Earthborn/War Hero background.  She was into some bad things as a youngster but this doesn't mean she particularly enjoyed it.  In her heart, she knew she was doing wrong but it was either stick with the gang or get killed on her own.  I still need to write a detailed overview of her backstory.  But I RP her as a woman rising from the rough streets of Earth and trying to make up for her past as a Paragon soldier.

Posted Image
I really need to take more screens of her soon.  It's just very time consuming because I'm another console user who has to record the video first, then print screen each picture into Photoshop and then crop.  :bandit:

I've been having a great time playing with her opposite which is also why I haven't been posting much lately:

Question, if I get the facecode of a shep that has been modded, will it still look the same on my unmodded version of ME2???

Example: ELE08 gives my the facecode for Teagan Shep, will she still look the same?

You get the best screens ever, SQ.

Helps that you have the best looking character ever, too.  If you really based her off yourself, you must be a knockout.

Your screenshot commentary really made my morning. Was lucky and didn't have any coffee in hand when I saw those. I've heard it's hard to get off from keyboard. :D:lol:

Out of cheetos pic was pure win.

>sigh<  The Mass Effect character creator sucks.  I wish it were the Dragon Age creator.

I'm trying yet again to nail down the look for Alexis Shepard, the Colonist/Ruthless Vanguard that's been rattling about in the back of my head while Jessica's been going out on the town.  Made a couple more attempts tonight.  My goal is to use a face structure you never see and make all or most of the features ones that rarely get used.  I want her to look tough and hardbitten.

The first version looked like this:
Posted Image

Obviously I'm trying for a sort of Blasian look for her.  Emphasis on the trying.  Something was really off about this face around the mouth, though, and the choice of eyes does not animate well -- the brow does not furrow or lift noticeably, like other eye choices can.  Plus the proportions feel wrong... things can look fine in the creator, but once in game everything's all wonky.

The second attempt then looked like this:
Posted Image

On the right track with this, much closer to what I want.  Still not there, though.  Noses in Mass Effect suck!  You're limited to just a few choices that actually look normal.  This one would fit if the nostrils were narrower to match the bridge... or at least it would fit better.  >sigh again<  I dunno, I guess I'm looking for input.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd suggest starting a face in ME2 not ME1, that CC is easier to work with because it has better camera angles. Plus you can get in game look at the face make notes on what you need to change or try to fix and then start again with the old face code rather than from scracth. It's a painful process regardless but less confusing in ME2.

So long as you run ELE's texmod yes otherwise she'll have a different face texture.

So I've narrowed down the next chapter of ME:PC to these:
Joker, Hackett, EDI, and Miranda 2. vote!

I hope is not too late

Miranda 2

Now, see I think all backstories are full of interpretation. Hence, my way long backstory guide I did ages ago. it's amazing the takes you can have on those stories. they give you minimal stuff to go on.

Really nice thread. I haven't had seen it until now. I gave it a shameless bump. Don't care

Abby is a 'Spacer'

"This could mean that Shepard learned to get along with many people in his/her travels or it could make him/her aloof from others. "

That exactly what I thought when I picked that background for her. This may sound awful, but for Abby, getting along with people is a skill. She enjoys her solitude.

Honestly, at that time, "war hero" didn't make much difference for me. I just chose it because of the paragon bonus

And the 'Colonist' background.
I recently created a new shep, Hayley. Never played colonist en ME1 before, so I didn't know about I remember me. That's really a moving side quest. It was a surprise, actually. Since I triggered the mission kinda early in the game, I didn't have enough paragon/renegade points I didn't know how to handle the situation. It went bad. I had to reload a previous save (like 2 hours away). No chance I was going to leave with that bitter taste in my throat.

Hehe... Kaidan is really enjoying the view. Why shouldn't he ?
Kyrie is rocking that red/black armor...

I really do like that visor on Shepard.  I either use that or none in ME2. Damn you helmet toggle! :P

Same here. That visor really looks cool.

I would also suggest using the ME2 creator because of the code.  It makes it much easier to go back and make small changes since you just plug in your code instead of redoing the sliders.

The drawback being the horribly long intro.  I let it play in the background while I read this thread!

Unmodded vs Modded Teagan

I purposely made it so I could still import her 'vanilla' into ME3 just in case I can't use the same mods.

Wow. you know, it's really subtle, but the face mod makes a huge difference. is it the eye makeup/shape? i can't put my finger on it.

@ j. walker - glad you liked it! it got lost in the forums, but i occasionally go back and use it as a reference. me2's treatment of the background stories sort of made it a moot point

Hah! Coincidentally enough, I'd just finished Mordin's loyalty mission a little earlier on today. My absolute favourite mission of it's type in ME2, as I think that the writing and dialogue is absolutely brilliant. I love the scene in which Shepard and Mordin discuss the ethics of the genophage over the corpse of a female krogan. If Shepard follows the Paragon path, the manner in which she refutes Mordin's attempts to rationalise away the use of the genophage is brilliant, and Jennifer Hale's voice acting is outstanding.

I still tear up when Mordin says a quiet, poignant prayer over the krogan's body. It's so sad.

yeah its very strong voice acting...although i think paragon femshep is a little harsh on Mordin...would a thought a slightly softer approach would suit a paragon femshep...but thats just my opinion

Your right Sage, those mods are  AMAZINGLY subtle, but do make a world of difference!    The big change just has to be in the eyes.....that's what gets me about Teagan everytime.    Ye Gads!...those "Peepers"

I actually prefer the screenshot without the ammo holographic display, as I feel that it draws attention away from Shepard. It still looks cool, however.

Not to add to the pic spam but I ran though the Reaper IFF mission real quick, why is this worth mentioning you ask? Well mostly because I put Ryn's Shep's face on my Soldier Danielle and took a few screenshots.

Though my favs are the comparison shot between Ryn's Shep and Mine, since both Screenshots are taken at the identical moment.

Ryn's Shep keeps her cool even under Sniper fire.

Mine looks like she's about to beat someone to death with that rifle!

I also like the one without the holos. I never actually liked the damn things in ME2. There should be way to get them off like there should be helmet toggle.

@Adneate

She looks gorgeous.
