maleshep gets many beautiful asari, many human women, and the odd quarian woman hitting on him in droves. "oh maleshep, you are so manly"
femshep gets several beautiful asari, 1 marine man (kaidan), 1 idiot man (conrad - sorta), 1 lecherous nasty man (harkin), 1 lecherous nasty alien (batarian merc recruiter), a few alien men (garrus, thane), and the odd human woman (kelly) hitting on her.
even jacob will not hit on shep unless she initiates.
on the one hand, i kind of prefer that femshep is not universally lusted after by everyone, especially human men. she's a tough cookie and would probably intimidate the hell out of most guys (this is part of why i adore kaidan so much). however, it does send this rather frustrating message:
the male hero will get universal hetero nookie for saving the galaxy. female heroes will be admired, but only the rare individual will actually find her attractive. and the fact that only 3 of her 7 potential LIs (if you count kelly, morinth, and samara) are human is really frustrating. it's like humans don't find femshep attractive. asari do, because they value strength, but even in the future, humans don't?
i dunno if i'm expressing that very well, but again, it feels like there's this remaining stigma against femshep being found attractive by humans (men in particular) because she's doing something that's not a traditionally "womanish" thing to do in saving the galaxy.

Alpha Females like femshep, seem to off put people and not have the same draw that a male shep has.
Really what it boils down to is that males dont mind, getting female attention and view it as a sign of being well manly. Women dont like being openly hit on so much it seems.
Honestly though most guys probably have enough sense to not try and hit on the heavily armed woman standing in front of them though.

It is funny that there are no "Bann Teagans" or... I forget, what was the shy but secretly psycho Templar dude called in DA:O?

Yeah.
I find Liara's jealousy to be hilariously adorable, though. I love it! Though, on my most recent playthrough in which I used Liara and Kaidan, it was the latter that got jealous at Sha'ira. Whoops!

I never found Jacob's skills to be "useless" not even on insanity when even civilians hve two layers of armor. I used to think so until I played vanguard and started doing "homeruns" his pull was great for the technique and saved my powers up for charge so I wouldn't ahve to wait for them to recharge. While Miri's slam and warp are great Jacob's squad incindiary ammo and heavy barrier are amazing on Grunts loyalty mission and collector missions.sagequeen wrote...
i also think jacob should NOT have been a biotic. his skills (pull + barrier) are generally useless vs. miri's slam and warp. plus, miri was engineered to be a biotic, jack, too. samara and thane trained for years and jacob just...is? seriously. he should have been a straight-up soldier with some mad skill for burning through armor (like mordin has). i would have liked him more just for that. as it is, he had SO much potential, but no payoff.
personally, what i would LOVE is if you could somehow set your PCs romance preference BEFORE the game starts. like, have cutscenes and convo options and flirt options, etc, but you could tailor it to your character's orientation. but that would probably be too complicated for anyone to ever do.
Also, I'd love to set romance preferences with the beginning information in the CC. but then again I'd never see how the male LI's work out for femshep

I'm surprised no one even noticed, not even your squadmates who were there! I purposely romanced Ash then did the consort things before heading to Ilos and then went to bang the consort right in front of Ashley and it wasn't mentioned even once. so needless to say it was a shock when she was mad that Iw as with cerberus but not mad that I two timed her with some random asari I hadn't met before.mashavasilec wrote...

Or maybe the devs could tone it down a bit for MShep, too? Because everybody suddenly seems to be throwing themselves at him in ME2, what I think to be a bit unlikely - Parasini and Shiala come to my mind.
Shiala does the same for Femshep. And I think the cheek kiss Parasini gives to MaleShep was very tasteful, not like the batarian remark to femshep

Well, in DA:O you can go to the Pearl with your LI, (s)he' s right there when you take your pick. Like 2 points of disaproval the first time.... That's it.

I found that weird, too. Though they do at least object to Isabella (unless you can persuade for a threesome...)

Good points. I think part of the problem belongs in this thread.
You forgot the "Good Times" Turian, though he doesn't seem to be too picky on who he hits on. Funny, Shep gets to "hit" on him, though in a very different way. Ultimately, I think there are many factors, #1 being that ME is marketed mainly to males. BW also may have been playing it safe in not allowing femShep to get hit on quite as much as that does bother a lot of woman, (at least the ones I know). It is a shame that femShep doesn’t get a male version of Parasini (or Parasini herself) but if we asked, I’m sure we would just get a lecture about resources or worse, “entitlements.”

hah. now i am totally wondering what you *thought* i said.
again, i'm not really advocating any change, exactly. it's more like...this is weird to me.
i guess what i find weird is that in ME1, asari throw themselves at shep, which comes off as cultural mostly. exception is the interest where liara is concerned (since she's pretty clearly interested in shep beyond merely the physical). harkin is icky to femshep, gianna sounds interested in maleshep (mebbe), conrad calls femshep beautiful. beyond that, ashley/kaidan fall for male/femshep. that is all. people admire shep, but have to get to know him/her to get beyond the hardbitten/hero persona. it works for me.
me2, however, just...maleshep becomes this james bond character. i remember hearing a dev refer to him as such in an interview and i was like "wha? what shep are you talking about?" bond gets many ladies, works ALONE, is not a leader of anyone, and answers to no law. while the last (and the ladies) MIGHT work for renegade shep, none of the rest did. so maleshep goes off in this bond direction and femshep ends up with having to blatantly hit on maliens or reluctant crew to get any attention. meanwhile, asari keep making suggestive remarks in her direction all the time.
so, yeah. more a ME1 to ME2 oddity. kind of like the N7 armor. not that it's BAD, per se, just that it emphasizes the difference between the male and femshep is strange ways that may or may not fit with how things were in one's take on the 1st game.
edit for grammar
