re: the rest of the discussion, I just realized something a couple days ago as I was driving around for work thinking of my femShep.  I'm actually glad that BioWare did not make femShep the "default".  Not having a default, supposedly iconic marketing image of the character I'm playing allows me to posess her more completely.  Sheploo, and by extension male Shepard as a category regardless of character customization, "belongs" to BioWare; they have taken posession of him in order to use him to promote the series.  That's fine, I don't begrudge them that at all, because that means I can own my femShep as a stagehand working to co-create her story, rather than being charged admission to watch the main attraction.

Does that make any sense at all?

It makes a lot of sense, and I feel the same way. I'm sure Chud would defend BW’s marketing strategy with his dying breath, but I still feel they somewhat cheated themselves by not marketing femShep at all.  Though completely unintentional, they upped the bar quite a bit for female protagonists in gaming.

That pic reminds me how much I love the ME1 Renegade ending screen.

The odd thing is that I don't consider her to be "Renegade". While she did some nasty appearing things in ME1, she did have good intentions. And Immanuel Kant says we should judge people by their intentions, not by how they seek to accomplish their goals.
But somehow I don't think Samara studied (or at least agrees with) him as she won't respond all that well to "Renegade" Lantrun's wooing:( (when I'll finally get to that Point).

I agree...I just love that face she makes during that LotSB kiss scene.  It's like, she still thinks she's kissing Liara but is also half-surprised by Liara moving away and still half-surprised that Liara kissed her in the first place.

Yeah, good point.  IIRC, you see the 'Renegade ending' only if you have more Renegade points than Paragon.  That doesn't say much, as a 100% Renegade/0% Paragon would see the same thing at the end as the 45% Renegade/44% Paragon would.

Does the Samara comment on Renegades work the same?  I've never seen it in ME2, though, my Shep always has more Paragon points than Renegade by then, so I wouldn't see it.

I play Danielle as pretty damn renegade and Samara has never said anything about wanting to kill her or not approving of her methods. You don't get the fake romance you just get the friend path when you talk to her about romance and the code she simply thanks you for your interest in her life but she's made her decision to be alone and at this stage in her life she knows it's the right choice for her. So my renegade and Samara are close friends and I bomb the collector base at the end so I have no idea where this "Kill all Renegades" stuff comes from.

Valid point,  I can see how its fustrating to see discussions broken up because of people posting pics.  But thats always happend in this thread.  Even around page four or five there are two or three things happening at once. The only difference now is there are more pics so you need to scroll a lot more.   

Perhaps maybe we could have a little thread rule of say post two full size pics and then thumbnail?

On the topic of Pictures...  guys and girls, good news 

Being a nice lazy Saturday I've not done a lot except listen to about 4 or 5 hours of Dream Theater, have my night out cancelled but much more importantly caught up with my right click saving of pictures in this thread. 

As you know this thread is becoming bigger and more active,  to go back 3 days theres 25 pages of awesome femshep content.  :happy: But as you can imagine there is a lot of pics in there too! 


So as a result (other then me almost getting mouse finger)  I have a very larger folder of content 

1,075 files and 200mb to be exact  

Thats a bit big though, so im going to try and organise the folders a little better and resize some of the large files. If needs been I will split the archive in two pieces. 

So keep your eyes out and I may upload it tomorrow if I have chance or certainly during the week :happy:  Keep up the good work peeps!

I'm perfectly fine with having pics in the thread. Most people use them as illustrations and we post them in-context, it's not just random photo manips or motivationals. As long as people format properly and try to not post the same picture over and over again, I don't see the problem.

But I can see how it can be fustrating to some members as well.  Hence why its been brought up, so lets work on a happy medium then?

All I would say is just to ask people to limit themselves, I like pictures and I like looking at them. Still people should, just as matter of courtesy try to avoid walls of pics with little to no text. If you're putting 3 or more pictures in one post you should ask yourself if it's necessary to post all of these. When I post a screenshot I try to have one or two really, really good ones that are ideally related to the topic at hand. I think the majority of the thread should as much as possible be content focused not image or chat focused. We don't want to stifle the sense of community and the friendly atmosphere but it should still be a place of ideas and discussion amongst people with common interests. I think that's pretty fair deal, no?
