Whoa, that is a spooky coincidence. My Liara romancing Shepard considers Kasumi to be her ME2 best friend! In my canon, Kasumi was very concerned for Shepard after she started drinking heavily in Liara's absence.

Hah! I love FemShep's drunk dialogue in the bar on the Citadel too.
"Put more of the stuff in the....thing that stuff goes in."

Which characters do you feel FemShep enjoys the best friendship path with?
For me, I feel like it's definitely Ashley. I get the impression that a genuine bond and relationship develops between the two, and that the pair become proper friends.
I would have said Ashley from ME1 but after Horizon, Shepard doesn't know what to think. She still cares very much for Ashley though. With that said, Shep's bff is Samara. After every major mission, Kathryn would go into the Starboard Observation deck to chat with the Justicar. She found her stories fascinating and with Shepard being a Paragon, they got along quite well. My favorite line that Samara says to Shepard is,
"I will come for you, Shepard." After they make it known to each other that they are good friends and if Shepard should ever need any aid from her. That's one of my favorite parts of the game.

Yeah, this is something about the media that baffles me in general. It kinda makes me wonder if girls prefering the stereotypical "girly" things is actually a product of the media around them. They're told they should like ponies and sparkles and stuff, while boys are told they should like explosions and robots and stuff.
That's what I think...I never liked ponies and sparkles myself, even though I was supposed to!
I think so too. Too much Donna Reid and June Cleaver stuff with not enough Dale Evans and Annie Oakley.
Back when I was young, and the world was new, hummm not that old. Anyway, on my dad's side of the family there were 5 boys my age. At Christmas time they would get toy guns, bows, knives and I would get a mirror brush and comb. It drove me nuts! My mom gave up on trying to make me "ladylike".
Luckily my mom's father had been a cowboy in Texas and a road the rails back when he was young. Always had horses and cows and they always gave me cowgirl stuff plus my 2nd cousin would let me be Annie Okley and he'd be the bad guy. I can remember tying him up in a chair down in his parents basement. I was a tomgirl, spending a lot of time in trees and on the barn roof and shooting my 22 saddle rifle at tin cans.
I've always been very glad my family didn't try to stick me in a predetermined girl mold.
I do think a lot of marketing is still stuck in the past. The old which came first the chicken or the egg. Until they start actively marketing for women players they won't get many women players.

My femShep's best bud is Garrus. Had it been up to her, he would have been second in command. I take him on most of my missions as they both make quite a team. He's a sniper w/ overload and she's a Vanguard. It's weird, I think my femShep loves him, just not in "that" way. Poor guy. As for a BFF type girlfriend, it's Kasumi. Part of it is that she has opened herself up to Shep and another part, at least for my femShep, is the lost lover aspect. My femShep’s main squeeze is Liara, so in a tiny way she can relate to Kasumi. It's such a shame that you can't actually converse w/ Kasumi.

Ditto. Garrus and my Shepard groove together very well. I knew Garrus was a romance option for ME2 and I was on the fence about staying with Kaidan or making the moves on Garrus because I did not want to wait yet another two years to see where the ME1 relationship went. I was just playing the game, not really paying attention to any of the romances when Horizon rolled around and Kaidan knocked my socks off with his intensity and his anger. I liked that he stood up for his principles and I realized that Kaidan really was the ying to my canon Shepard's yang and Garrus was the best mate she'd be having a beer with after work.nocturne98 wrote...
My Shep's BFF has got to be Garrus. During Thane's recruitment mission, they were having the time of their lives competing for the most headshots. It was awesome.
Although, when I do have free time, I really do want to make a Shepard specifically to romance Garrus.

Shouldn't we stop calling her Femshep and try out Jane, I believe it is the cannon one (although femshep isn't cannon at all, but we're all chaning that perspective aren't we?). What do you guys think? Is she Femshep or Jane Shepard?
My personal choice is Fem Shep. I don't want to limit her possibility by calling her the default name.

I'm actually glad that femshep "sex scenes" weren't featured in promo. 'Cause Jack's renegade romance and Miranda's engine room scene would quickly cheapen both romances for me. At least Jack has got her wonderful paragon romance
Were any of the "sex scenes" featured? I must have missed that. And yes, I'm glad they didn't include femshep in them.

Okay, the Jacob thing. I think, though I'm not sure, they were going for a Carth style character, someone who has trust issues, doesn't get close easily and would perhaps be a riddle to solve or a nut to crack. Playing KOTOR as a female Revan,I actually felt like I had accomplished something when I got him to trust me. I felt like I should have gotten an achievement. With Jacob, it's more, WTF is your problem? I know a lot of people find him bland, but during the romance, I found him rather annoying. So, my femShep is trying to figure this guy out and he all but tells her to go to hell. Maybe that is turn on for some, but not for my femShep, so I never finished it. It's shame too, as the only time Shep gets to vent is during that romance. And the really sad fact is that I actually like Jacob as a character, but not a romance.
Well, if they were trying for a Carth romance, they failed. I love the Carth romance. I would save my game just before talking to him to see all of the reactions.
My one and only problem with the Jacob romance was Shepards tone every time she talked to him. I have not yet been able to get past that. I like Jacob, and every time I have tried the romance I end up backing off and just being his pal.

Ashley and Garrus and then Tali. I enjoyed talking with Ash, I wish there had been more conversations with her. I enjoyed talking with Garrus in ME2 a lot. I flirted a bit but never felt that we were more than friends. And Tali was my Shep's little sister. I wanted to talk to her about Kai'Reegar and find out if they had a past.

Hmmm...people seem to like Kasumi for a friend. She's just very fun and friendly, I think.
She was very comforting, supportive and reassuring to my Shepard.

Other honourable mentions, though... She has tremendous respect for Samara, though, and the two enjoy a solid friendship. Kasumi is just impossible not to like, and she's the only woman on board to really chit chat with, besides. I think my Shepard sort of sees Tali as a surrogate kid sister at this point. I always picture her and Miranda as having a relationship more of mutual respect, and trust (at least by the end), but I never imagine them being close friends outside of the 'profesional' lives together. Thane she finds intriguing and compelling, and wants to get to know him better - like Garus, or samara, he's someone she feels she can rely on completely.

I always imagined Shepard and Ashley being very good friends (like a lot of people here, it seems). Now, in ME2, it varies - she's probalby closest to Garus, of all of them - a longtime comrade in arms, and someone who knows better than almost anyone.
