Oh yeah, Jack is plenty attractive! She has the sort of facial structure that is generally considered attractive in humans (small, pointy). But we should probably go back to talking about Femshep again.

Hmm, I have a question...why FemShep? What drew you to her originally?

I dont think there's only one explanation.
My first playthrough was MaleShep. After I finished it, it was "ok, now what?" The gameplay was great, but I couldn't immerse in the story.
I wasn't 'drawn' to femshep. I had no idea who J. Hale was at that time. I played a 2nd playthrough just to explore the game. But her performance changed everything, I wanted to know more. Got hooked on the story. And then I bought ME1 to complete my doom. It was there I created Abby, my canon shep.

The "I play my own gender" thing it doesnt work for me, clearly. I know it does for many people. "I'm a woman, so I play femshep. I'm a guy, so I play maleshep"In my case, I think I was tired of the same cliche. Badass marine saving the world, saving the galaxy. The same thing over and over. The worst of it, I probably wasnt even aware of that. But a strong female heroine doing the saving much more gracefully, it was a refreshing experience to say the least...

Edit: format

AFAIK Miranda's face is a carbon copy of Yvonne Strahovsky, so tweaking that would be weird.
I personally believe that that "perfect appearance" thing referes to her boobs (can I say that here?) and booty.

One last offtopic comment:
Not an exact carbon copy. The designers exagerrated her jaw line and some of her mouth animations look kind of wonky.

Umm... Yeoman Kelly looks OK. Jack is not attractive (in a traditional sense). Samara is a matriarch and as such "dressed for her role" (-> Lorik Quiin (probably mis-spelled))*. So I guess you're referring to Miranda.
Miranda was designed for perfection, of which she is fully aware and she also admits being "cocky".

Oh I know, but like I said it's a stylistic change they've deliberately pursued going into the second game. Samara would be every bit as capable (and attractive) with her outfit zipped up, for example. I'll agree that Yeoman Kelly is attractive in that nice girl-next-door way, and Miranda's perfection didn't neccesitate spandex. I actually like Miranda as a character, but sometimes the outfit does make me laugh a bit.

:D Oh yeah, since I've noticed Miri's cameltoe I can't take that outfit serious at all. Before I just thought it was highly impractical for combat.
The spandex is part of her being "cocky" - another word would be "arrogant" - and is a means to shove her "physical superiority" in your face, she's basically showing off.

*: Matriarch Benezia's cleavage was also very generously cut. Samara seems to think very highly of Asari tradition and her outfit could very well be some kind of Justicar uniform.

I was sold the minute I saw you could play as a female. Dunno why exactly. For one, I guess, because playing a maleshep felt like filling the shoes of yet another stereotypical male hero. I knew, almost instinctively, that the Femshep experience would be entirely different (Mass Effect was my first RPG, btw; the only other experience I had with RPG's, was in Duke Nuke 'Em kinda games, where RPG always stood for Rocket Propelled Grenade launcher, lolz). Then, when I first heard Jennifer Hale's voice, it was as if I had died and gone to heaven! I've been playing Femshep ever since, and never looked back. And I'm the happier for it. Simple as that.

That's what I meant.  And her facial structure matches very well with the short hair. If I could have come up with something similar in the CC my FemShep would probably look like she could be Jack's sister.

Oh, she's plenty devious. That whole locker scene is so cute and awkward I guess that's why I think "shy." She does have an ingenue look going on in that pic. In ME2 she can look vastly different from one scene to the next, depending on the angle of the shot...

I hate not being able to Shep's face. The Flotilla is a notable place where there is a lot of dialogue and it's nice to see expressions.

Kinda makes you wonder why Shep has to wear a helmet on the Alarei to begin with. It's being taken over by the geth! So, what's with keeping the ship sterile? Otherwise, unless there was a very significant hull breach or some such, there really is no good reason for her to wear a helmet onboard the Alarei. Sorta makes me long for the old days, when 'togglehelmet' made life so much easier.

You find some interesting stuff with flycam. Like why is Shep randomly sitting down. Who cares, it's ador-able.

Ooo! I gotta teach my Kira how to sit! Oh wait, no; that came out entirely wrong. :P Seriously, though, I gotta watch for that, as there are certainly scenes where I would want her to sit (fanart-wise).

I instantly smiled when I saw Jamie's UJ.  I knew I was in for some laughs. ^_^

Kathryn wore the pink wig and green contacts as a joke and maybe because I was slightly drunk last night.

No need to get into a flamewar over other character's beauty.  That is all. :police:

Just sayin'... I always thought Ash was very pretty. I love unique noses, and Ashley's definitely stands out. Those big dark eyes and those Angelina Jolie lips and the rest of her facial structure give her beauty; her nose gives her character.

As much as she loved her as the sister she never had, Jessica was always a little jealous of everything Ashley had, including her looks.

Oddly, she is jealous of nothing about Miranda, not even her looks.  Perhaps especially not her looks.  But then, she doesn't particularly like Miranda, even though she feels sorry for her.

There have been many games I wouldn't touch because I was/am tired of not being able to play as a female (the Gothic series leaps to mind), and I was intrigued by the idea of a female heroine that was entirely competent and not overly sexualized.  Admittedly I still have a grudge in that department.  Not that I haven't played male characters as well in games to get the full experience, but I'd like the choice- I don't like the male-only character game insinuation that female players don't matter.

So I went into Mass Effect 1 thrilled that I could be a female at all.  But then I saw that femShep isn't just maleShep with boobs.  She's this tough-as-nails but deep down human as the rest of us figure who can hold her own and then some.  She's also friend, mentor, powerful, intelligent... and yet she has these moments of sensitivity that show you she's not just a gunbot, she's a woman too.  I came to appreciate Hale's voice as fitting the character perfectly with a controlled intensity.  So I've had my share of both femSheps and maleSheps, but canon Shep will always be female to me.  I am reminded of the beginning shots of ME1 where Shep is standing on the bridge talking to Kaidan and Joker, and she has this expression on her face that shows everything I love about her.  Thoughtful, in charge, ready to go.

Yeah, pretty much everything about Ashley is beautiful. Kinda reminds me of Wash (Firefly) talking about his wife: "The legs! Oh, yeah! I definitely have to say it was her legs. You can put that down! Her legs, and right where her legs meet her back. That - actually that whole area. That and above it." LOL.

Oddly, she is jealous of nothing about Miranda, not even her looks.  Perhaps especially not her looks.  But then, she doesn't particularly like Miranda, even though she feels sorry for her.

At first I thought Miranda was fugly even, but I think she looks okay now (and even attractive from certain angles + given the right lighting -- or rather the absence thereof). But there's no compensating for that ridiculous 'glorified bra' outfit she calls an Armor. As a result, my Kira never takes her along (except on her own loyalty mission, of course) for that reason alone.

Despite not liking her much personally, Jessica brings her along a lot, just because she's so useful from a gameplay perspective.  Her powers are always useful to strip defenses, no matter what enemy you're facing, and she's the only squaddie who has a power that is solely designed to buff everyone in the squad.  Her weapon damage boost alone makes a huge difference when fighting hard targets like Praetorians, Scions or Harbinger.  I almost always take her on the main story missions (except the Reaper IFF mission) because she makes Collectors much easier to fight.

But yeah.  She might be a good fighter, but my Shepard wouldn't be caught dead wearing her outfit.
